Hey. Love the review. I just wanted to say that as a totally blind person, this toothbrush is absolutely phenomenal⊠Because everything is controlled with audible beeps.
You can feel the pressure sensor, it beeps when it's charging, and activating features is all done by beeps and tones.
Really good for me⊠The brush head reminder apparently beeps too.
Best toothbrush I've ever used! Thanks for considering us!
Excellent review! Very complete, but succinct and thorough. Your review is far, far better than the comments that I found on Amazon. Thanks and GOOD JOB!
So pleased you found it useful. Thanks for letting me know.
so helpful!
Nice review, thank you for the info :)
Thanks for watching Lorena. Glad you like it.
Nice video. I'm looking for this to give to my granddaughter. Thank you for sharing.
I like how this channel is very professional about its reviews
Thank you.
Great review my friend. Thank you so much đ
No problem đ
Great Review!
Just bought this Toothbrush. Sonic care by Phillips works the best. Thanks for the information.
Found my new toothbrush, thanksđ
Great review
Thanks for this review. Is the noise level on this brush the same as other Sonicare toothbrushes? Or is this one louder?
It is the same as any other Sonicare toothbrush. đ
Best review yet on the 5100
Thank you.
Bought three of these as Christmas gifts for our family. Two failed with less than a year of use - exactly the same failure mode. As an engineer, I think there is a fundamental design problem - the old design (screw-on heads) provided complete mechanical isolation between the vibrating brush and the handle, while in new design, the head slips onto a shaft protruding from the end of handle, and the lateral brushing motion creates a lateral vibration that is transferred into the handle and its internal components. In the old design, cumulative mechanical stress was contained within the brush head which was expendable and therefore discarded regularly. But in the new design, that stress accumulates on components within the handle. Both of the failures we experienced seem to me to be a consequence of that repetitive mechanical vibration.
Sorry to read this and thank you for sharing your experience. Did you send them back to Philips under the warranty?
2:05 - thanks... thought something was wrong with it.
I have the Phillips sonicare 9000 and since it has whitening and i have whitening toothpaste Iâm good for white teeth lol
Great review. You must have the cleanest teeth in the world with the amount of reviews and testing you have done. đ
haha thanks Jacob. They are pretty clean. đđŠ·
Are all the sonicare tooth brush use the same motor? From low end 4100 to high end cup charging diamond cleans
Yes, as far as I am aware.
Can i buy any other philips brush heads? Or they work just with some brushes?
You can use other Philips Sonicare brush heads on this handle. Just be aware, if you want the BrusySync features to work, you need a compatible brush head.
Should i go for this one or hx6711 healthy white classic ?
I would suggest the Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4100. I am not familiar with the market/pricing in Pakistan, butt this is a great option. Not quite as many features as the 5100 but should be more cost effective.
Hey man do you have an idea where you can buy the extra heads for the 5100?
You can buy from Philips own website, Amazon and most major supermarkets/grocers/pharmacies in most countries.
does it makes a different of someone has implant teeth ? any recommendation regards this issue ?
No, they work fine with implants.
One thing I canât understand is the timer when being brush. It says after 30 seconds for the 4 locations, itâs suppose to vibrate to alert u that side should be done but mine doesnât. Did I turn it off?
I am not aware Matt of a way to turn this off. You should note a very brief pause in the sound/brush head motion at 30 second intervals if it is working correctly.
This is a good toothbrush. But i wonder why they do not use blue Loctite on the main screw ? It gets loose after 1-2 years - fixable but why ? To force me to buy more brushes ? đ
Are the modes worth the buy over the 4100?
No, I don't generally think so.
I just bought this brush and have used it for a few days now. The power intensity is very high (on all 3 modes) and hurts to brush. Is there a way to reduce that?
No, there is no way to change the intensity.
If this is your first electric/sonic toothbrush it may take some getting used to.
If the head blinks in red does the brush still works or you need to change the head asap?
It will still work if you get the notification. It is just a warning to alert you it is ideally time to change.
should i buy this brush or the oral-b pro3 3500 i should add sonicare is more expensive as well as the heads for it where i live
Both are good. But, for value for money the Oral-B is more cost effective and my pick.
I have braces on my uppers and lowers. Would you suggest this type of brush or one with a rotating brush head?
Both will work fine. Neither are necessarily better or worse. You will just need to make sure you are through with brushing and floss too.
I know this is old so you probably have your braces off by now, but a really helpful thing for anyone with them is getting a water pick. It makes flossing around braces ten times easier and quicker.
Hello! Do you know if it has Bluetooth, so I can use it with the Sonicare app? The toothbrush head Im using right now is W2 Optimal White. As far I know it has a Brush Sync feature. đ
This brush does not have Bluetooth. BrushSync is not connected to Bluetooth, this video explains all about BrushSync, I hope you fine it useful - czcams.com/video/TnC0pJjScoI/video.html
@@ElectricTeeth Thank you! It was really helpful đ€
Which brush heads can be used with the 5100?
Any of the Philips Sonicare brush heads will technically fit and work with the Sonicare ProtectiveClean 5100 (the e-series head being the exception).
However, if you want to make use of the brush head replacement reminder and the mode pairing features, you need to use brush heads that have the RFID chip built into them, that make them BrushSync compatible.
Those heads are:
C2 Optimal Plaque Control
C3 Premium Plaque Control
G2 Optimal Gum Care
G3 Premium Gum Care
I InterCare
W DiamondClean
W3 Premium White
T1 TongueCare+
@@ElectricTeeth thank you! And thanks for the great informative videos. Also, what oral b electric toothbrush is comparative to the 5100?
The best alternatives to consider are the Oral-B Pro 3000 or the Pro 6000.
@@ElectricTeeth ok thanks again!
@@ElectricTeeth
Can it keep track of multiple brush heads?
Which one do you recommend this one or io 5 or 6? Ä°o series are more expensive but if there is not much difference, I would buy this one.
If I had to pick between the Oral-B iO Series 5 and 6, then the iO6 would be my choice.
They clean comparably to the Sonicare ProtectiveClean 5100.
There are differences such as brush head size and how certain features are implemented. For example, the Sonicare will tell you if brushing too hard, but it won't tell you if you are brushing with the correct pressure like the iO Series handles.
There is no Bluetooth connectivity and real-time tracking on this model either.
Ultimately, it is about what is most important to you.
@@ElectricTeeth hi I bought oralb io 6 yesterday and whenever I hold it, it opens. I dont need to open from the power button. Does this suppose to happen?
How do you store it on a daily basis? Do you leave it on the charger stand?
It's up to you. You can do so if you wish.
The charging will cut out when the battery is full.
For the 'optimum' life from the battery we would avoid constantly putting it on the charging stand when not in use if you can.
@@ElectricTeeth Ahh thank you. This explains why my Vitality runs out after single use. Iâve always left it on the charging stand. But then again Iâve had it for over 5 years. Finally replaced it with the Sonicare.
To be fair the Vitality's battery life isn't the best even when new. Nice upgrade.
1st class review.
Thank you Vincent for the kind words.
can an oral b brush head be used on this toothbrush?
No. You cannot use Oral-B brush heads on a Sonicare brush handle.
You can't use Sonicare brush heads on an Oral-B brush handle either. They are not compatible with each other.
Iâm sorry but youâre asking a very not so smart question. Why would companies want their competitors to use their brand so they can lose profit?
I've seen reviews on Amazon that indicate it gets mechanical issues after 6 ish months of use. I hope that's not true.
I don't think this is a big issue. The brush is covered by a 2 year warranty should it go wrong.
I saw this one today for 70 pounds (same price as a 4100) and a 7900 for 94. Do you think the 7900 is worth it?
Go for this one. Only go for the 7900 if you really think you will benefit from the extra features. It won't clean your teeth any better.
Hi! Do you know how to turn on the sensor fo pressure? thank you and greetings from argentina
Try the following Luciano:
How to turn on and off pressure sensor
- Put the handle on the plugged-in charger.
- Press and hold the power on/off button while the handle remains on the charger.
- Keep the power on/off button pressed until you hear a series of three short beeps (after 6-7 seconds).
- Release the power on/off button.
- Triple tone of low-med-high means the pressure sensor feature has been activated. The brush head replacement light and battery light will also blink green 3 times in unison to confirm activation.
- Triple tone of high-med-low means the pressure sensor feature has been deactivated. The brush head replacement light and battery light will also blink amber 3 times in unison to confirm deactivation.
- If you continue holding the power on/off button after the three short beeps, the activate/deactivate sequence repeats.
@@ElectricTeeth thank you so much!
What are the biggest competitors to this toothbrush?
Well if you are looking for like for like features, you are looking at models like the Oral-B Smart 3000, Genius X and even the Oral-B iO Series 6.
Is this good for braces?
Yes, fine to be used with braces and cleans well.
It felt hard in my new porcelain crowns I hated it
Sorry to hear that Susan. Was that when using the standard clean mode?
Were you using this before the crowns without issue?
Itâs the Phillips soniccare 4100... this is the first time using it with my new front porcelain crowns...they felt sore after use! Do they have replacement heads that have softer bristles?
There is the option to buy the G2 Optimal Gum Care brush head, which is a tiny bit softer.
Perhaps you might want to ensure that the Easy-Start option, to ensure you can get used to it.
This Philips Sonicare model comes with the EasyStart feature normally activated. The EasyStart feature gently increases the power over the first 14 brushings to help you get used to the brushing with the Philips Sonicare. The EasyStart feature works in all modes.
Put the handle on the plugged-in charger.
Press and hold the power on/off button while the handle remains on the charger.
Keep the power on/off button pressed until you hear a single short beep (after 2
seconds).
Release the power on/off button.
- Triple tone of low-med-high means the EasyStart feature has been activated.
The brush head replacement light and battery light will also blink green 3 times in unison to confirm activation.
- Triple tone of high-med-low means the EasyStart feature has been deactivated. The brush head replacement light and
battery light will also blink amber 3 times in unison to confirm deactivation.
Thank you so much I just ordered the replacement brush heads you recommended from amazon hopefully it will be softer on my dental work! Iâll keep you updated
The Sonicare 4100 is a good option.
So it just vibrates ? It doesnt rotate ?
The bristles move side to side in a sweeping motion. They do not rotate.
Electric Teeth . Thank yoou
you forgot to show how to put the head on
You just push it on and pull it off. đ
This toothbrush rips up my mouth. This toothbrush is by far one of the worst Iâve used.
now it's ÂŁ92 in the uk... 2024
didnt even start the tootbrush
Bro, when I see you glasses I can't avoid to recommend you to do an eye laser surgery. I think you would be a good candidate!
Oh, Thanks for the video.
Geez, a bit critical aren't we? His glasses are fine as are mine. Pay more attention to the content of his video and less attention to the way he looks. đ§
Wow those glasses are thick, he can see the tarter and gum disease people have.
đ of all the comments I get ref my glasses (which is quite a few), you are the first to at least say something amusing and give me a super power. đ
Great job on the reviews by the way. Keep them coming!
U.S. Motha Fuckin' A.
I feel like if you have sensitive teeth, like me, Iâm going to knock my teeth loose, the intensity is insaneđ«Łđ
4$ / month...expensive
Do a review on you eye glasses đ
why is bros eyes so big
So I can see all the plaque on your teeth đ€đŠ·
Returned this thing immediately. Sounds like an angry wasp, tickles my lips too much and overall a horrible unpleasant brushing experience. How anyone uses this is beyond me
Itâs called open your mouth wider and saying ahh! Itâs similar to how they deep clean your teeth too.
@TheLeftIsRight #BLM #ACAB #BIDEN2020 suit yourself, found a much better product for less đ
