⚠ UPDATE - Battery Life ⚠
In this video comparison I suggest a battery life of 6+ weeks for the iO. As part of our testing process, it is necessary to simulate battery use for consistency. We do this by charging the brush fully and running the toothbrush through brushing cycles until it discharges completely. The iO continues to offer a battery life of 6+ weeks in these tests. However, repeated in hand testing has shown the battery life to only be 2 weeks. This is a discrepancy we have never previously experienced. All other brushes have to date performed almost identically during in hand test to those simulated.

honestly i recently got the sonicare diamondclean and love everything about it, the app is pretty easy to use in sync, the modes, i like the design a lot…the IO seem to superficial with the changing lights, the unnecessary screen icons and the design i don’t like…
the pressure sensor on my diamond clean broke. brush still works, but its now loud AF like buzzsaw going off in the bathroom.

I ended up going with the Sonicare, and I love it. It's so quiet that I don't wake up anyone and I have quiet sensitive teeth, so this thing is amazing and feels gentle.

I have a Diamond Clean and buyed it years ago and now I need a new one. What would you prefer more ? I had an Oral B maybe 10-15 Years ago and it was my first electrical toothbrush.
Either are great, but you might find sticking to Sonicare beast as this is what you are used to.
It's like buying the dentist parent you never had.
Thanks, Jon for your video. Would you recommend Oral-B iO7 or Sonicare DimondClean 9000? As they're similar prices (£125 vs £120, Boots Black Friday 2022 price).
There is no simple answer here. If I have to pick, personally I would choose the iO7. There is limited reasons to pick this over the DIamondClean 9000. Importantly both clean the teeth comparably.
Honestly, you don't need such a premium toothbrush as these.

Hi Jamal. I have not tested the E11 as yet to be able to list off all of the differences.
Fundamentally they do the same job. The most obvious is the design of the handle being different.
It wasn't that long ago when you chose the Sonicare Diamondclean over the Oral B iO as the best brush. Why such a big change in choice in such a short period of time?
James. I might be wrong, but I suspect you are referring to my video of the DiamondClean Smart vs the Oral-B iO.
If so, the DiamondClean Smart has a much better app than the DiamondClean 9000. The Smart has position detection technology which the 9000 does not have. So, the DiamondClean Smart is better than the iO, but the iO is better than the DiamondClean 9000 because the 900 does not have the same technology as the Smart.

The data would suggest Oral-B's oscillating and rotating brush head is slightly better at cleaning. The difference is marginal and more study is needed really. Use either with the correct technique and you will be doing well.

Personally I prefer the height of my sonicare's brush head over the slightly taller oral b brush head

Hi Victor. I don't have or specifically know of a video that recommends all the best items to have as part of your oral care routine. Realistically all you need is a basic toothbrush, toothpaste and floss. If you use these correctly, then you should be well on your way to great teeth and gums. Part will depend on price, but based on my feelings at the time of review, I would go with the O Series 8.
I would say bravo if its was a gadget review, but for a electric toothbrush review i feel that it lack a cleaning comparison using disclosing tablet.

The DimaondClean Smart is more feature rich and offers real-time tracking that the 9000 does not.
The DiamondClean Smart and DiamondClean 9000 are quite different.

'Best' depends on what you need or want. All clean the teeth well, which is the most important thing. Some come with extra features, which might make them better, but you end up spending more. If you want features like the ability to connect the toothbrush to your phone, then great there are plenty of options.
The Sonicare 9000 has more features than the 7300.
There is not a huge difference between the iO5 and 8. They offer the same tracking. The main difference here is the 8 has extra brushing modes, a colour screen and faster charging.
Comparing the 7300 to the 4100 from Sonicare. The 7300 has more features, but the 4100 is the model I recommend most as it is superb value for money.

It depends on your local market, but I suspect the Sonicare 4100 will be cheapest and maybe the iO5 as an alternative eoption.
