I think these were stellar figures - the soft goods were next level - to this day I've never seen such awesome layered soft goods on figures. They totally pulled off the Medieval vibe and I liked what they did to the Sheriff and Warrior to make their robes/capes look like chainmail. Kenner's reuse of Star Wars and Super Powers was very creative - both Robin Hoods and the Sheriff are two characters from the Kenner Super Powers line - I know Robin is built from the Green Arrow, go figure! Oh, the irony.
A couple notes: they planned a wave 2 of these figures that addressed your concern for more enemies - they made the Celt Leader (good ol' Pat Roach!) from the forest village attack and he had furry soft goods and his hammer ax! Very cool looking figure. They also made ceremonial Azeem in white robes with red accents and they made Sean Connery's King Richard with all kinds of fancy looking softgoods and helmet. That was their Anakin Skywalker in the line - seen for 2 seconds, but so cool to collect. There were TWO new Robins as well - a combat Robin which was essentially him undercover with his leper's robe but they finally gave him a dang sword! (and mace, oddly) then there was a real treat - Flaming Arrow Robin, with totally cool new soft goods deco and flame arrows he could shoot with his bow - SO awesome. No Maid Marian though or Guy of Gisborne (the Sheriff's cousin).
Another totally forgotten aspect is the role play stuff they made. To me, a toy line is NEVER complete without some role play gear. They made Robin's sword and a dagger set. I own them - they are incredible quality plastic, super thick and durable for kids swinging them at each other and at trees. They also made a very crappy, but fun, Nerf-style bow and arrow set with a quiver to keep the foam arrows. I don't own the quiver, but I have the Bow and Arrows. It's really hard to use, but they wanted to make it look like you were placing the arrow on the bowstring, and you do, but it kind of plugs into a plastic piece that inserts into the back of the arrow. When it passes the bow, it just ends up flopping over instead of shooting out. It may be because mine has a worn out string, but I still love it and the concept of it was great. They should have improved the design, because every kid wanted a bow and arrow after watching Robin Hood back then!

Nice collection. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is a great movie. I bought it on DVD in 2006.

@@tydiriumhanger1320 I love that Retroblasting used this version of the ewok village in place of the original one because this one actually had greenery on the tops of the trees and looked more believable for their homes.
I wonder if that version was cheaper to buy back then because they reused the design and it was for a movie that didn't command such a big licensing fee. It would have been a great way to pick up a cheaper Ewok village if you didn't have one back then.

I had all of these as a kid, including all the playsets. Lots of fun when I was 4 or 5 years old. The Sherwood Forrest set was my favorite. Had a net underneath it to trap people as well.

Good video, but I think dropping the background music or at least varying it with another from the film score would have been good. Hearing that same track looped throughout the entire 14 minute and 44 second video got a little bit tiresome.
