Classic Kenner reuse - that bow and the arrows are almost certainly from the Jurassic Park: Dino Trackers T-Rex Turner. The bola launcher also looks like the Alan Grant series III, at least the mechanism and design. The Hyrdo Mariner wrist cannon could easily have been sourced from Arctic Blast Batman. Atoll Enforcer uses the exact same launcher backpack/net from JP Series I and II Alan Grant, just a slightly different mold. The bazooka is from JP Robert Muldoon Series I and II, just a little different on the outer sculpt. The hose for the Jet Skis is totally practical - if you ever ride one (or a Wave Runner) you put that on your life preserver so that if you get tossed off it kills the engine. Can't imagine in post-apocalyptic America where you're lucky enough to have a Jet Ski and fall off only to watch it ride into the sunset never to be seen again and waste all that precious fuel lol
That was a super thorough review of this line - I always liked the movie even as a kid and hearing all the gossip about it being such a flop. I thought it was super creative - Mad Max on water essentially. Cool line of figures - at least it actually got a line lol. The Trimarin is the jewel for sure, that is so cool you can put the sail into storage on board the ship like that. Just makes it feel more practical and real. It's got a lot of surprisingly nice features, I'd say that's one of the coolest vehicles of the 90s for sure.
@@tydiriumhanger1320 I had all of the water world toys, except the trimaran..the most important part of the collection (imo)... I'm still not over it..lol!...oh, and P.S...i think it's the old man who builds the hot air balloon that calls him Mariner..but honestly, I learned it from the end credits.
Dang, those 3 single card Mariner figures were all the same mold with different paint schemes, and it's pretty wild how Kenner re-used action features across toy lines. That disk launcher for Deacon is the same setup as the Infrared Batman from the animated series line they did, and that water canon with the harpoon is similar to Mr. Freeze's action feature, just implemented a little different. That capture net for the Atoll Enforcer is the same gimmick they gave Alan Grant in the Jurassic Park line. I can't think of anything off the top of my head for that bow, if that's been re-used or not.
Kenner made some crap toys. I actually have quite a few figures mint on cards, 3 or 4 of the ships. I like the movie. Despite the reviews. It's entertaining. Cheers buddy, thanks for doing a video on these forgotten toys
This is just one of those toylines based from a movie that I never had the chance to collect back then. I really enjoyed watching the movie
I was shocked when I found out they made these and had to have em

who remembers The pirates of Dark water cartoon and figures? and when I see Waterworld I think of that
I do remember those and they are cool
Cool, I didn't know much about this line, I'm enjoying the content, keep up the great work!
Love these odd ball lines
Thanks for sharing this obscure toy line
This is a lot of fun and reminds me of Robin Hood
Awesome thank you for doing a different line👍 different is awesome sometimes
These obscure figure lines are a lot of fun!
I was just looking for the fan edit of this movie yesterday. So much potential.
Funny how timing goes sometimes, let me know if you find the fan edit

YOU SHUDA STAYED IN THE WATER!!😉
Ha maybe
Didn't know they made toys, maybe a future haslab of the floating town that sinks and you can rebuild it.
Yes they could make an atoll sadly the Tirmaran does not float
Quite a few versions of the main hero. Kenner was hoping Waterworld could've been the next Star Wars.
I think they hoped for each movie franchise to take off and put interesting play features in the figures and vehicles
Why can NECA Toy 🧸 Company should make Waterworld movie action figures more modern?
I found out they called him Mariner from the movie.
I seem to have missed that part but once I got the toy it was all over the package

The little girl’s name is Enola
That is right! Would be funny to get that figure with a tatoo on her back

WOW I did not even notice that the mariners are all the same but you are right. Kenner loves the part reuse

Not only is this a fun line but easy to collect today
Smoker was the best😃
Yep they are fun and the jetski is a good addition
Kinda odd for Kenner not to include the females. Have a lot of fun Kenner female figures.
They were at the center of the plot for the movie but maybe they were planned for wave 2
