The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is an upcoming interactive drama survival horror video game developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It is the second of eight planned installments in The Dark Pictures Anthology series and the successor to Man of Medan.
The story follows college students “Andrew”, Taylor, Daniel, Angela and their professor John who become stranded in the fictional town of Little Hope located in New England which has an infamous history of witch hunting that took place in 1692. As the group explores the town, they witness the execution of a group of settlers from the past who look exactly like them. Our stranded “survivors” must find out their connections with the settlers, piece together the history of the town, and discover the root of the evil.
The game is set to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on 30 October 2020.

How you quickly switch to another character in the middle of the action
It slows down the camera/action, but doesn't let up on the adrenaline at all
It's so cinematic and satisfying!
And it gives you the info you need to know who's gonna act.
Monius13 I also find it pretty cool that you get to help out other characters in the heat of the moment, unlike the other games
I agree I’m also glad they added prompts before the QTEs in this game because I didn’t mess up a single QTE the entire game cuz of that. I’m usually horrible at them like in man of medan I played it twice and killed Conrad both times just because of the QTEs

If Nick retreats and if Jason goes to the pit to save salim then the ancient one will throw a spear at jason while they are running, and if you fail that QTE then Jason dies. Also, if Salim had killed Eric earlier then Rachel wouldnt trust Salim anymore and would kill him in the elevator, and that is how 2 people died from failing 1 QTE

I 100% agree. That eye stabbing mustve been real painful. But it was like quick compared to being stabbed in the stomach.
His death was pretty painless and instant because its a stab to the brain. Your brain cant feel pain. Getting stabbed in the stomach would be a slow bleed with sepsis. Its not equal to Getting stabbed in the brain and instantly dying😂. The pain from abdominal surgery left me quietly bawling tears and unable to move to get help
i think its a little dumb that if you get lucky and pick "go right" you escape scot free... like no clues, no deductive reasoning, just a guess and you're off the hook??
There is clues, he called her name Taylor and she looked to her right instantly. So it's pretty easy to miss if you didn't notice that detail but it was pretty noticeable imo

@@chidzhustle3570 yeah at 2:16 she flicks her head to the right, but they really shouldve done more than that for that choice. Maybe when playing the actual game with headphones you can hear the direction you're getting called from. But yeah other than the head flick and MAYBE hearing the direction it came from with headphones it can be a giveaway to choose right but tbh no ones gonna think to hear for that in a tense situation like that.
Idk, I didn't think it was a guess. When Andrew and Taylor are running away from the church, there's a shot of them running past a wooden post that's on the side of the road near the church. So when it's time for Taylor to decide, you can see the post through the fog, so you wouldn't want her to go back towards the danger.
I personally chose to go right because religiously speaking the direction left is always associated with evil and this game has elements of religion in it because of the witch trials. It could have been a coincidence but that also may have been intentional. But then again not everybody knows that.

You can’t get the trait unlocked yet in that death. You can only get it like 4 hours into the game this is like 3 hours and 30 mins

@@waw1537 you didn't get it. usually there would be background music to make the scene more intense and get you all nervous but here it was just them making awkward noises, some even sound lewd (especially in specific languages). that makes the whole situation seem less serious despite the horror that is happening and that part, the music not being there and the characters making awkward noises to silence is the hilarious part, not them getting murdered.

That monster that shows up depends on what you do in the Family chapter - if Tanya climbs down the pipe you'll get the floating tongue monster, if she goes back into the house you'll get the fire creature.

Are there actually people who unlocked the character traits or...cause I'd like to see if it made a difference and they maybe could've avoided death
It only helps with the ending
if they choose the heroic/reassuring options before their last battles with their demons, they will unlock the traits after the battle

I had a few jump scares with this game.

Taylor and Daniel both died in my pkaythrough for no apparent reason and it was frustrating didn’t miss any QuickTime events they literally just got captured and died at one point.
So either they died at the house or you saved Daniel and failed all qtes the reason being is that you went for reckless dialogue then they guaranteed die at the end
@@ashengames8803 literally the weirdest thing. The time where you can choose to save either or. I chose to save Daniel bc Taylor had the knife. Didn’t miss any QTE and Daniel died. Then goes and saves Taylor. Taylor survived for a bit until her next encounter w the demon. Literally just grabbed her and she died. Both times didn’t fail any QTE and they both died. Literally stopped playing there haven’t gone back

I loved the characters, the voice acting and the game play... But I'm not a huge fan that it turned out the way it did though. It was so much more interesting as the weird timey wimey curse that had to be broken... Than the shutter island bus driver. By the time you get to the end it's kinda disappointing... Coz I thought for sure at the beginning when I had a thought it was the bus driver all along. I thought noooo it's gotta be a red herring. You think it will be that but it'll be something different going on. But nope it was the bus driver.
I understand the whole mental illness part it's trying to portray which is pretty good when you look at it - the fact that the little sister was not well and was seeing a demon from her imagination - possibly because the priest was trying to help and planted that idea in the first place (which might not have been what he intended...) And she couldn't get the proper care she needed.
And he needed to deal with his own inner demons and all that. That would have been great as a different game, as a thriller.
But for the dark pictures horror aspect...it would have been much more interesting having it as the people going through repeating the past mistakes and trying to break the word cycle of death and pain... As a horror game that's more interesting.
If Taylor goes left and uses the knife she loses it. Does she need the knife for later in the game?

I fucking suck at choosing directions lmao. This scene I chose left, nearly got Taylor killed, then as Daniel I followed movement instead of sounds lol and actually got Taylor killed.
lol, ditto. It usually takes me a couple of tries to keep everyone alive. Every choice based game I've played always ends with someone dying.
At parts like 3:12 what happens if you have those character traits when thats happening?
Nothing actually,they are just going to matter in the end of the game.If you have good traits and was heroic you're fine,if not...you're dead.

@@otakuni6987 i found out that the only way to unlock the bad traits is to choose the heroic/reassuring options during everyones last battle with their demons and then after you defeat them the traits should unlock so theres no way to have no bad traits before the demon kills you

Impossible. Every character has at least one bad trait which they cannot lose. John's trait is dismissive, Taylor's trait is deceitful, Daniel's trait is arrogant, Andrew's trait is fearful (Doesn't matter anyway, Andrew can't die), and I think Angela's trait is derisive, but I could be wrong.

If she has the knife, then I believe if you fail the quick times, she dies, and if you don't obviously the same happens
During the escape scenes I always think: Yeah ... you are running and then stop after what felt like 3 meters, heavily breathing as is this was like 3 miles ... like ... this is really strange and irritating

When you Go Left, you need to miss the first two QTEs then Andrew will show up and it will give you the option to take the shot. Then complete the QTE and Andrew will take the shot. Hope that helps.

I seem to be struggling to find the clip I need, just finished the game and taylor got grabbed by a demon and killed, just as I was thinking I got every character out...didnt have a chance to defent myself with quick action or anything..how can this be prevented? It was pretty f***in frustrating to have everyone survive just for her to get offed off at the very end and there wasn't a dingle god damn thing I could do about it? Wtf?

OK everyone survived in the house. Then the scene where Mary was accused comes out.. I saved her and condemned the Reverend.
As everyone leaves the house suddenly Taylor gets trapped in the house, and the tongue monster comes and kill her..??

It means you made bad decisions when talking as her. (most likely even in that very last scene in the house. if you take heroic/reassuring options, they should be allowed to leave). If she doesn't overcome her bad traits however the monster won't let her go. (The same actually goes for all the other ones except Andrew) so you got it pretty good regardless.

why is it sometimes the fire monster and sometimes the choke monster for taylor, I havent seen the fire monster once in my playthrough?
It depends on how the girl in the beggining of the game dies
i think it depends on what direction you choose. when u enter the fog you can choose left or right, i chose nothing and it resulted in the tongue demon, choking her a bit. maybe if you turn left, you'll get the fire demon.

If you choose to save Megan from the fire first at the start of game before Tanya then Taylor gets the burned lady. But if you choose to save Tanya first and tell her to climb down the pipe she hangs herself by slipping and you get the hanging lady

Hey guys, ahah, i just came over here after Taylor died in my simulating and wanna know why.
When in the forest, after we escaped from the church, there's the choice between her and Daniel - i chose him, saved, but she died, this "monster" broke her spine, meanwhile in it's eye was written "deceitful".
Then the storyteller appeared and said smth like that "it's not that real as you suppose" or smth like that. Before that, he gave me a hint smth about compassion as I remember... (I did showed Taylor's compassion to Daniel in the high point of church, maybe i shouldn't have to?..)
Why she died? What i did wrong? Guess there's the explanation in those signs, the reason, but i don't give a fuck what that is exactly, totally confused. What these signs in those eyes mean? For ex, fearful, arrogant, deceitful and so on...
First i thought like, ok, somebody can die because was very fearful or arrogant (if that works in this way as i understand). If so, then what's the particular deal with "deceitful"? What was wrong with Taylor in my simulating during the whole game? Can't say that I deceived smb or was deceived by smb, playing for her...

@@azkuafudge1509 just finished, everything peaceful and everyone alive except of Taylor. Because of her unlocked negative trait "deceitful", or because i chose to save Dan, still dunno. And if it's deal of trait, specifically "deceitful", i dunno what i was doing wrong, didn't deceive anybody or myself.
As far as i understood all characters can die because of their negative traits that you gotta neglect.
I guess in ur case John died cause either he wasn't brave or rational thinking. So during the whole game u had to pick appropriate actions for him. Same for Dan - I remember that his negative trait is arrogant, propably you were acting for him loftily.

I don't think so. If you choose the "take the shot" option Andrew will tell her to move out of the way to give him a clear shot, and if you do that he'll shoot. If you don't give him a clear shot she'll die.
