“Patience is not passive, on the contrary, it is concentrated strength.” ― Bruce Lee
Passive patience is waiting for the world to give you the thing you want. Active patience is different. Active patience demands action and intention, even while waiting for results.
Active patience puts you in the best position to get what you want. There is almost always an action you can take to improve the odds. Active in the moment but patient with the results.

Thank you Conor. Patience well explained, the former seems to be laziness while the later is deliberate effort 😉

yep passive patience has a lot of connection with laziness... but I remember being taught that patience is a "good" thing... and this distinction - that you can wait but take action vs wait and expect... It was a useful reflection for me

"In the flow of opportunities." Like the phrase, Conor. Yet what of the serious meditator who practices twice daily for decades, as he or she improve their self-knowledge as they work steadily towards 'Enlightenment?' This, too, could be called, Active Patience.
