After getting out of the hospital with septic shock, no doctors prepared me for what life would be like afterwards, the septic delirium, the freezing and sweating, the bad decision-making and constant brain fog was insane. Thank you for this video. No one to hold me. I was gonna lose my hair in my nails. No one told me I was gonna be falling all over the place because my muscles suddenly weak, or that I have no emotional regulation and a bad memory lol thank you for this video from the bottom of my soul!!!!

My wife is two month post sepsis, on top of four spinal cord lesions. She is hit with sudden muscle weakness, extreme tiredness, bizarre temperature extremes, you name she gets it.

Please have her see a Neurologist regarding Narcolepsy and Cataplexy. I developed both after sepsis, and the cataplexy often is in conjunction with narcolepsy, resulting in extreme tiredness and sudden muscle weakness caused by extremes in mood.

Ty. This is my last week of introversion? Antibiotics...I do it every morning. Ty for explaining the symptoms. I've had them all. I'm grateful but sick and tired of sepsis...I'm tired of wondering if I'm dying. My number is 126 but needs to be lower. I'll find out this week. You gave me hope with your cheerful attitude.

Mine Septic Shock was 7/2014 from a kidney stone ant UTI’s. I get extremely exhaustion to where I can’t move or think. I also go through times where I’m freezing deep in my bones and it hurts and then I’ll be sweating. I get nightmares, I can’t sleep or I can’t get up because I’m so tired I just sleep a lot. If I do too much one day it takes me anywhere from 3 to 5 days to recoup from that one day. Body pain muscle pain like cramps feels like my skin is burning and my feet burn like they’re on fire and the skin is getting ripped off and it’s all the way up to my waist. PTSD is horrible, I can’t manage it at times. And I have a lot of triggers. I understand what you said about having to sleep before you could get home after work. Thank you for your video .

Just to be whole again 2020 I’m glad it helps that somebody is talking about it and I completely get it. have you been to a podiatrist by the way. It’s basically because the feeling in the feet makes me worry About something called peripheral neuropathy in the face which is why I have nerve damage which does happen with sepsis which is evil. Seeing as they will see how damaged the nerves are with different tests. Have you had counselling because I know it helped me but actually you feel like you’re made of lead is gross. If you need any advice email me laura.sepsiseducator@gmail.com. or if you are on Instagram I am constantly on there and it is Laurawilliams.sepsiseducator

Laura Williams Sepsis education Worthing Sussex I am in therapy and it’s helped a lot. But with the medical doctors I still struggle with getting them to understand what PSS is. They will not use the words of Post Sepsis Syndrome. If we were diabetics we would not have this problem. I’ll look you up on Instagram. Thank you for your response.

How do you deal with the pain all over in joints especially sit to stand or stand to sit and including not limited to muscle spasms in legs left is the worst, incontinence and could go on yet it changed me and horrible things were done to me outside medical scope not all only three individuals imagine since less than ten percent change to live they had not the concern if I did die yet they will be responsible for their actions . the rest of staff at hospitalsurgeons nurses aides lab X-ray therapist cafeteria all involved that saved my life and although I left early against medical advice yet agreed and discharged me to give me all meds scripts etc need for that week along with consult with each specialist . Thing is that o had been tryin fro hey stones out since 2016 yet o do not carry insurance not because I can’t but. Because I am a cash paying customer for my good and services. Kmy specialists can tell you I pay in fulll at each visit . Anyway specialist would send referral to doc they chose and never receive call for appt and it took me one foot in grave to get stones out my life is forever changed . This all because I did not have insurance and not one dept involved in your care makes money if they pay cash . I pay 25 to50 for X-ray if have insurance minimum 250.00 is charged to insurance. Same with labs blood urine cultures etc with insurance 1600.00 and for same tests ordered at outside lab through local health dept my cost cash $16.00 FOR THE SAME LABS same with ct mri X-ray etc. lastly the things that happened to my body the permanent damage physical and mental is near impossible and all the medical people could say is “we are so sorry about this “ and for each apology I sternly said, “ and please tell me what exactly are you sorry for please tell me”and only one response that was again given really so so sorry with quick turn and out the door sorry for ramble yet on my own with this and have been looking for anyone that has any understanding thank you

That would be me 😭 I’m a wreck right now and I’m 4 months post hospital release 😢 I was in hospital for 5 weeks and intubated for 3 weeks and tracheostomy for the rest of the time. I can’t handle the temperature regulation or eating food anymore 😢 I have no energy, no will to do anything, numbness and nerve pain in my hands and feet, dry gangrene, I gained 20lbs, I’m so tired but I can’t sleep, my muscles hurt 😢I’m supposed to be working on physical therapy but I can’t even summon the energy to make an appointment for gods sake 😢 the muscle pain is real, dry skin, hair loss, absolutely no libido, no real interest in anything whatsoever, I wonder sometimes if it was even worth fighting that hard to survive just to feel like this for months and months on end 😭

Oh I remember being so cold in the ambulance. I had a fever of 103.7 F, at that point. It eventually reached over 105. I still get the exhaustion a year later. It was getting better until my last surgery 2 months ago. I think I’ll bounce back again, hopefully. I’m having a lot of joint pain and some swelling. I get muscle and nerve pain, too, however I was supposed to be unable to walk.

I am 87. I had Urinary infection one year ago turned Sepsis. Excruciating pain everywhere. Spent a week in hospital and 5 weeks in rehab. I live alone.
Prior to illness I was strong and healthy except for normal 87 YO Arthritis, wrists knees, hands, neck.
I am experiencing weakness, balance issues, tiredness, but I'm still completely independent so far.
I try light muscle building exercise with workout machine I've had for years and some PT exercises.. I'm not showing much progress.
My PCPs, VA and family Dr. do not show any concerns.
Was wondering should I be taking medication of any kind?
I am on blood pressure meds, occasional Tylenol for knee pain. only.
If you see this, any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
