France is the most beautiful country in the world.. have found all the landscapes and climate.. mountain, snow, seas, desert, turquoise water,Volcanoes, immense forest.. in short, have found everything in France and Mont Saint-Michel The 8th wonder of the world and Paris the most beautiful city in the world.. in short, France is simply the most beautiful country in the world, no other country offers so much variety and beauty ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇨🇵
Grand canyon Gorge du Verdon is most beautiful
If only the people living there were has beautiful has the country :)

France is the most historically and culturally rich country in the world. It is also the most diverse country in terms of landscapes, there are all types of really beautiful landscapes. Authentic villages and towns with unparalleled charm and their own identity with a real soul. Truly a magnificent country, the most beautiful in Europe in all categories, if not in the whole world. It's embarassing to jerk off in public like that

15:15 It's the Dune of Pilat on the south west coast of France, the tallest dune in Europe, yes there is dunes in Europe x)
And there is even a battle that took place over dunes in 1658, and it's called... the battle of the Dunes.
@@lahire4943 what , a battle here ? under Louis XIV , during "la fronde"? I don't remenbered well my dates , i have to check it out .

btw it feel strange to speak english here because i'm french too (i assume your are french because of the "fleur-de-lys" )
8:16, the Mont Saint-Michel is a village and a holy place. You can visit the village and the church at the top, there's also a story where it was their that the King Henri IV authorized (after a meeting there ) the expeditions to discover the North of the New World with Jacques Cartier which is now Canada and USA.
11:10, it was one of the worst nightmares of the French Goverment and People, France was kinda saved from bombs except in Normandy, le Havre, Dunkirk... but a lot of people tried to save the monuments and arts, Jacques Jaujard was the director of the Louvre Museum during WW2. Thanks to him, all of the masterpiece of the Louvre were saved and hidden in all of occupied France in caves and not in Germans hands !
12:36, yes it's a bridge for water. The Romans build it to bring water to the city of Nîmes which is really impressive because of how many romans buldings there's is. It's the Rome of Gallia (previous name of France)
15:18, this is Dune du Pilat near Bordeaux, it is the biggest sand dune in all of Europe.
Thanks for reading, and Vive la France Eternelle ! 🇫🇷
Impressive knowledge my friend
Cordialement.

I think one can add Les Châteaux de la Loire to the list. Especially for history and culture lovers. Dozen of Renaissance and medieval castles
France is beautiful.
My brother lived just outside Toulouse and I visited many times, I love France.
In Alsace-Lorainne you can visit villages that were complitely destroyed in WW1 and you still see where the shells hit (the village is full of holes left by them in the ground). One of those villages is Fleury-sur-Douaumont
"Mont Saint-Michel" inspired Peter Jackson for Minas Tirith in the Lord of the Rings.

4:34 If the Alpes got the “Aiguille du Midi”, the Pyrenees got the “Pic du Midi” and it also got a construction at the top. But this construction is a space observatory with telescopes and the like which is even more impressive. It’s still one of the best. To prepare the first Moon landing, the US used pictures taken by this observatory.
4:13 The mountain you're thinking about is the Matterhorn in Switzerland (Also known as Mont Cervin or Monte Cervino in French and Italian, respectively)
9.13 That is sand, revealed at low tide.
12:50 Yes
A lot of frustrated Englanders in the comments, still jealous and frustrated by the spectacular beauty of France.
Don't tell Al Murray but I like France... the Limousin area is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Aqueducts? Check out the insane engineering of them! I think there's one that took water to Rome from about 70 miles away! Another great video which poses more questions than answers for you, which is no bad thing!
8:35 Those are butresses not shutes, are typical for gothic architecture, and are used a lot in gothic cathedrals. They're massive filled constructions. They are basically structural supports that taper and narrow towards the top. They're used to mitigate the horizontal forces in arches and vault ceiling constructions by diverting them outward and downward at an angle. They convert the outward horizontal forces into forces going at an angle, and then convert that onto a downward force. They are basically big heavy supports moved outside of the building, allowing the walls to be much sleeker in construction and allowing for huge glass stained windows so typical of the huge gothic cathedrals.
In this case they are used to reinforce the retaining wall built to support the weight of the massive constructions on top of the mont-saint-michel.
Thx for your informations.
Visit Mont Saint-Michel in France, it's awesome, i've been there, we have one in England too, it's in Cornwall, its called Saint Michael's Mount. They're both incredible (the french one is deffo bigger tho, and I think we used to attack it constantly lol)
Ah! Le Mont Saint-Michel or Minas Tirith! Its a stunning place to wander around and is the grander counterpart of St. Michael's Mount in Cornwall.
The area around the island is VERY tidal. The sand is known for being rather dangerous as there are quicksand areas and the tide comes in quickly.
Connor, I will explain: to access Mont St. Michel you have to wait until the tide goes out... then you can walk the causeway out to the island. It is amazing out there... beautiful. As I child I fell in the sea around the Mount, and was nearly drowned. I was pulled out by an elderly Frenchman, to whom I owe my life as a 5 year old.
falling in the sea at Mt Saint Michel depending of the tide is well known in France to be extremely dangerous, it's good that that elderly person was here to rescue you quickly indeed!
@@zefyrisd69 Thank you for these kind words. I am here thanks to a man nearby, standing in the sea, who came and rescued me. I wish I could have thanked him as an adult.
you can go to the top of the Mont St-Michel and visit most of the inside for like 10$. They removed a lot of the sand and made a clean and safe road to cross even with the tide. I've been several times and once the tide came while i was visiting. Once out it was surrounded by water
You can pay a bus ticket or walk 15min and take awesome photo.
9:29 The footages dates from the times when there were a ground-level road instead of a bridge, a lot of sand accumulated on both sides of the road.
Hello from Alsace, love tour videos!
9:30 it's not snow, it's white sand. You have a visited tour of the monastery on the top and you can walk the little place in front of the church. You can not go up the bell tower though. the construction looking like a sled is just a reinforcement for the structure
The sand dune at the end is the Dune du Pilat, located in Arcachon Bay. It’s the highest sand dune in Europe and one of the prettiest places I know. Can’t believe they didn’t mention it out loud
9:20 The region in which the Mont Saint Michel is located is known for its really important tides throughout the day. So the island is accessible by car / foot only for a few hours before the road gets covered by water again. This is another fact that makes it so special. Some of my family members went there a few times and during the tourist season, it is extremely crowded because of how popular it is for its small size. If you can afford it and you are lucky enough, I recommend renting a room for the night, then you'll be able to visit the beautiful streets and cathedral when all the tourists are gone (and take beautiful photos of the sunset). There are still people living on the island but the street will still feel empty after how many people you will have seen during the day.
As someone who also enjoys history i visited fort Douaumont near the town of Verdun, which was the bloodiest/biggest battle of WW1, there's also unbelievably massive cemetaries and a museum and old forts to visit.
I’m a bit disappointed that he didn’t show Saint Malo or any city of Emerald coast when he spoke about Brittany but it is a great video that make me want to travel even more throughout France.
Aiguille du Midi: the path you saw is not to reach the mountain but to leave it. It is the beginning of a ski trek which goes down from the top of a mountain to the valley below (from roughly 3800m to roughly 1000m), most part is on top of a glacier.
Mont-Saint-Michel: what you saw is sand. It is a rather flat bay, so with the tide, the water leaves and the island is surrounded by sand.
For WWII and the bombings, it was more on the north part of France (Brittany, Normandy) where towns and villages were destroyed. Hitler ordered Paris to be destroyed just before the allies arrived but the German governor of Paris refused to obey the destruction order. If you consider the level of destruction during WWII, in order you have USSR, Italy, Japan, France, the UK and Germany. Each year, still active bombs from WWI and WWII are found in France, either in the fields by the farmers or in towns when they need to dig for public works, for construction. Usually, they evacuate the neighborhood and the mine-clearers take care of it.
Il a quand même un flow de fou notre pays les gars

Hi, I live in Annecy, definitely a little paradise !
9:25 That's just the overcast sky reflecting off of the wet sand.
you can visit the abbey of mont saint michel (which is in normandy by the way), it's a marvel!! Etretat is also in Normandy and the cliffs are magical and offer you breathtaking views. visited the Normandy American Cemetery and it is impressive. you feel overwhelmed by the atmosphere of the place and so humble.
If you go to Normandy, don't miss: Bayeux, Caen, Rouen, Honfleur, Cabourg and so many others...
the Dordogne is missing in the top! If you love history: the Perigord Noir is unmissable and majestic.
Omg, Etretat is the place I've always visited during my childhood, we always went to a small camping near the foot of the hill. One time, there was so much rain (and not any kind of measures to deal with that) so half of the camping just drove away to a better place. Or, idk where it went, just not anywhere near I remember. Great times though. So cool that you can see England from there
Hello, if you come around, you can also visit les châteaux de la Loire, Chambord, Chenonceau, Ambroise and hundred more.I'm really surprised to not see it on you top 10 list.
best regards from France
Thanks for your vidéo
For 'history destroyed in war', check out what happened to Monte Casino in Italy.
The stones in France have been left there by Obelix if I remember correctly.
11:39 in fact many historical sites have been boombed but they were built back once the war was over. On the other hand, Paris remained mostly intact since the German general refused to blow up the city when Paris was being freed ...
Carcassonne wasn't bombed because it's in the southern half of the France. WWI battlefields are in the northern (battle of Somme) and eastern (battle of Verdun) France. And WWII bombing was essentially in the northern half of France wich was occupied by Nazis. As for the southern half it was under Régime de Vichy - French gouverment which collaborated with Nizis but stayed somewhat independent till the liberation in 1944. So northern half suffered both during Nazi's offensive in 1940 (especially Dunkerque), during liberation in 1944 (especially Normandy) and from the air force operations against Luftwaffe all through 1940-1944.
I live in Brittany, the coasts are amazing, yes you can visit and stay on Mont Saint Michel
there are more castles in france than in the rest of the world
you should have mentioned a few ==> Chambord, Chenonceau, Ambroise , versaille , fontainebleau and thousands more (45 000 castles in france exist)
in absolute numbers, yes. But in 'castle density' (number of castles per square km) Belgium is the winner.
A live not far from the mont saint michel is 1 of the 7 merveille of the world
Walled cities were obsolete by 1600, so most of the walls and towers were taken down to recycle the stones. Caen in Normandy was badly destroyed by Allied bombing, but not Bayeaux, where the tapestry was kept. Carcassonne is one of the few walled cities still intact.
*restored carcasonne was in ruins and was restored in XIX century thanks to the work of an great architect Viollet-le-duc, because the walls was in peces and people used the stone to build houses (so he destroys houses to rebuild). The restoration was great but very critisized by archaeologists because it's not very respectful of timelines (gradient of Roman era -> today = not perfect).
At the end of the vidéo it was " la dune de Pilat" its Somewhere close to bordeaux. A Giants dune surounded by Big forest
It wasn’t only London that was bombed, my hometown of barrow was indeed targeted as it’s the center of shipbuilding for England or indeed it was
France is beautiful !
The blitz in the Second World War was not only on London but on industrial and port cities. In addition, the Germans undertook the Baedeker Raids, when they bombed historic and cultural cities that had been mentioned in the Baedeker travel guides. One would have thought that if the person who made the video was really a Francophile, he would have had a better pronunciation of the place names. Other places that are well worth visiting would include the chateaux of the Loire, Chartres cathedral, the champagne area (where there are many sites relating to both World Wars) and Monet’s garden at Giverny in Normandy.
London was not the only city to be bombed, Bristol, Coventry and many more, lots of historical building were destroyed, Coventry Cathedral to name just one.
8:34 the Mont Saint-Michel is an abbey and not a monastery ..
the thing around moint saint michel is actually sand; idk how to explain . that in english but for about half the day the island is surrounded from sand while from the other half is surrounded by water, that’s because of tides
Dude, please check French island : Corsica !! stunning !!

Taking Stonehenge as The reference of the megalithic has always made me laugh... Stonehenge is 20 menirs and a few dolmens on, let's say 200m².... I don't deny the historical past or the symbolism... But the site from Carnac, it's an alignment of more than a thousand Menhirs and Dolmens on 11 alignments of more than 4 kilometers!.... It's like comparing a sandbox to the Sahara!
Ok. Well I admit that those of stonehenge are better cut... lol.....
Mais quand même ! Arrêtez de déconner ! C'est pas du même niveau :) LOL
kinda sad it didn't talked about Auvergne,it take a special part in my eart it's just a beautiful place.
I live in Annecy and only the old town is pretty, the rest is an average town like any other. The region is very pretty, the lake is very cool in the summer for swimming but despite all that, the proximity of Switzerland makes it a city where life is much, much too expensive ... The price of real estate is one of the most expensive in France. When you live there for a long time, the old town and the lake are not as interesting as a tourist... Annecy is very good for vacations, living there is another story....
The sand dune is the Pyla dune it is located on the Arcahon basin near Bordeaux: it is the largest sand dune in Europe

What was that , you asked, copy of Blackpool tower. Mont St Michel is a misspelt copy of St. Michael's Mount, in Cornwall.
The St Michael Mount in Cornwall built in the 12th century as a daughter house of Mont St. Michel in Normandy.
Just one thing, France is the biggest country in Europe, it s bigger than Ukraine or Poland
Actually, unfortunately, France did lose tons of precious monuments like these in both world wars.
In WW2, allied bombings killed over 90 000 civilians and destroyed from the ground up a few cities.
It's sad, but fighting in the most modern war is disaster on a country as rich and history filled countries like France or Italy.
