hello, this might be a dumb question, but I'm gonna ask it anyway.. I'm a little lost with the whole d2d connection thing.. if I'm using d2d the wires towards the front of the bypass red and the disturbed wires are not connected right. or do these wires still get connected anyway from the brain to the bypass.. I think we're I'm getting lost at, is the legend shows if your you are using d2d then nothing red or disturbed gets connected only the solid wires please help, as I feel like one minute I get it then I feel like I take 10 steps backwards, your help will be greatly appreciated!

I have a viper 5706v and a flashlogic flcan if i use the data cable then what other wires do I need to connect? I already have the 5706v installed I am just now upgrading the bypass module for remote start and door lock functions. I was going to use the t-harness but unfortunately I have a tip start and the harness for the ch-5 is not tip start only (which makes absolutely no sense considering most all vehicles of these years are tip start.) Anyways I need to know which wires I need to connect? The guide says that in data mode none of the other wires are needed.

I am very thankful that you are teaching how to do this on our own and I would really appreciate if you can answer the following questions.
1.What about the standard "Ignition, ACC, Starter connections from the remote starter to the vehicle, are they still required or no?
    2. For example the Break Status Input wire is running straight from the Remote Starter to the bypass module as Break Status Output.. What I don't understand is that how can the system work without taking any inputs from the vehicle harness. There has to be a connection to the vehicle For Break Status Input/Output
The problem is, if we are just running wires from the Remote Starter to the Bypass Module, wires such as unlock, lock, tach, trunk, hood status, door status and trunk status as shown in the diagram. I mean... where and when do we make those connections with the car?

I'm just looking to remove this along with the Viper 5601. Reason being, there'a a GM TSB for alarm systems causing the Fuel injectors to add too much fuel when the alarm systems mechanical relay causes a disturbance to the ignition circuit while the vehicle is in motion. GM states that it results in misfires and potential catalytic converter failure.

"Data to Data" and "Wire to Wire": The diagram RH side has RED Dotted (Data mode 1 way) & Black Dotted Lines (data mode 2 way) and solid red & black lines. If an alarm install is using D2D, does this mean that all the Wire to Wire connections (Dotted Red & Black) are not necessary because D2D connector will do all of this? Or is it necessary for Wire to Wire and Date to Data Wires to be all hard wired?

Just a little comment about this video when you state that GM is not into CAN networks...
The SWC wire that is connected at the PK3 module...
SWC stands for Single Wire CAN...
So this wire alone is what communicates information from the vehicle to the IDataLink module...
It send the info for PK3, Door statuses, Dool Locks, Tach, Factory alarm control, heated seats, VIN, etc...

+Gibby gaming there isn't a straight answer, that alca wires up 100 different ways depending on the instructions specific to your usage and vehicle.

Hey lesco in the diagram it says use these wires if data mode 1 way or data mode 2 way it's a little confusing because it shows that all the cables need to be connected red and dotted wires

I wouldn't recommend using that DEI Viper junk.
With the iDataLink, GM4 (the firmware applicable to your car) will do locks and passlock override. It will not disarm/arm the OEM alarm if your car has it. And it does not handle RS inputs (tach, brake, ect...)

Working on a 99 ford f150 5.4l. Losses key...hooking up a new alarm paperwork is telling me I will need hook up these three wires one wire will be 12 volts on it at all times the other one will be 12 volt ignition this wire has 12 volts when the key is in on and in crank position and I will have 0 volts when the key is in off position and then it tells me the ground wire which I got and then it says the two heavy gray wires Target wires will have 12 volts when the key is in crank position only cut this wire the engine will not turn over connect one gray wire to each cut wire alright so I think my PAT system is not allowing me to run this test for me to turn my key on and find these wires that you're talking about with my meter so is there any way you could tell me what the actual color of these wires are or perhaps draw me a little schematic and post it I would appreciate it thank you very much

From the information you are talking about. Not all the wires need to be installed. Because of the data cable. It clearly shows that on the bottom of the remote starter picture. under legend. the wires with dashes and in red are not required. Only solid black.

IDATA Nissan Maxima: The manual states that the Nissan Max 2010 requires 10 wires (4 Data, 6 hard wires at various connectors). Does this mean that only SIX WIRES are required for the install of a Viper 5701? Also IDATA Website lists three modules for '10 Maxima the "AL CA", "BLADE", and "SOLO" models - Which module should be used? Lastly, is the IDATA the best module for this application or would an Express Kit DBALL2 or FLCAN be better for an easier install? Thank you for your assistance in advance and the great videos you have posted

I would really appreciate your assistance on this. I am connecting a PYTHON 5706 to a Nissan Maxima 2010 Push to Start using a XPRESS KIT DBALL2 -- 402 NISS3HT FIRMWARE 2.11, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. USING PRIMARILY DATA TO DATA. The DBALL2 installation manual says to connect the DBALL2 wires below. Second, I was planning on connecting the PYTHON Wires I indicated listed below. I ONLY WANT BASIC FUNCTIONS TO WORK ON THIS ALARM.
Question: (1) Are these the Correct Wires To Connect on the PYTHON and DBALL2? (2) Do I need any relays or Diodes for these connections? If so where?

    • @Lesscoelectronics
      @Lesscoelectronics  Před 10 lety

A blade still needs to be treated the same way. All that makes a blade different is by the means its connected to the starter, Instead of a d2d connection, It slides on board the brain instead. The wiring is still there!

For 2011 nissan altima with PTS, the install guide is not clear with the primary wiring from the remote start. They've mentioned not to connect any other ignition or accessory wire from the remote start to the car but they haven't mentioned about any of the power or parking lights or brake lights from the remote start.
It also says to connect the door lock wires from module and remote start so don't we need to connect the door lock/unlock wire from the remote start and module to the door lock/unlock wire of the car??
