I volunteered somewhere that had Filipino nurses. They prioritize hard work above almost anything else. I never saw one slacking.

My surgical nurse is Filipino and you couldn't give me any amount of money to trade him. Even when he bosses me around and treats me like one of his kids. I love him, and he is the hardest working person I've ever known. Plus he cooks nuff said.

While I'm not a nurse I did have a bunch of Filipino co-workers before I had to leave my job due to my health. They are easily the best and friendliest co-workers I've ever had.

One of the BEST Filipino Nurses I have had the pleasure to work with, asked me "what happened to your energy today? You should take some BITOMIN." I asked her for the recipe, 😂, I thought it was a Filipino drink or dish. I realized later I would never be able to keep up with her efficiency, & stress levels. I'm still searching for those magical Filipino Bitomins ♡◇♡◇♡

When i was hospitalized, the Filipina nurse who was assigned to me blasted through the room, organizing it and sanitizing. Not her job. She was amazing, and even spent time to chat with me one evening. Loved her.

As an Asian immigrant in the U.S, my experience is that Filipinos are the friendliest asians in the U.S. I don't know why but the Chinese, Japanese, Koreans kind of stick to their own circle and never wanna talk to u. They are cold and aloof but filipinos, they make u feel like u r their long lost friend. I love them! My Primary care doctor is Filipino and all the postpartum nurses when I had my baby were filipinos as well!

Pot luck is one of my favorite things when it comes to working with Filipinos. They make the best food. I just show up with paper plates and store bought drinks😌

I stayed in the hospital for over a month. I had a all Philippino nurses floor. I bought them all coffee cuz they were never late with my pain meds. Then it was rotation. No one got coffee. Then it rotated again. And everyone got coffee. 😂 when I left the nurses were all so nice they brought me food from their lunches.

You gotta admit it's pretty brave for someone who doesn't know the language well to - instead of hold back on writing something - to just say, "f*ck it - this spelling is close enough that anyone can figure out what I'm trying to say..."

My first job as an RN, night shift charge nurse was Filipino. Her name was Belen or Tee ta len. She was amazing!!! She was always bringing food in for us. She would point with her lips and say "you look tired, GO EAT!" I learned about Ube and avocado with ice and condensed milk from her. She made her own fermented beans!

When I had my heart surgery, every morning they sing softly. It was so wonderful. Plus lots of giggles and chatter.

I had to have a radical hysterectomy due to ovarian cancer. The tumour capsule had ruptured before surgery, so my surgery took about 3 hours longer than the surgeon had thought it would. I don't wake up quickly after anesthesia. My recovery nurse was a tiny Filipina nurse, working her last shift before starting her maternity leave (she told my sister that she was due in 3 DAYS!). They let my sister be with me in the recovery room, and my sister said that the nurse had so much patience with me. She'd tell me to take another breath, and I'd reply that it hurt, so I'd breathe again later. She was definitely making sure that I was getting appropriate pain control. I'd be apneic again, and she'd tell me that I have to keep breathing, one after another. My sister said that sometimes I was breathing so shallowly that the only way it was clear that I was breathing, was that I was arguing with my nurse that I didn't want to breathe again! I wish I could remember her, and thank her for taking care of me. 💝 My sister stayed with me for the entire time I was in the hospital because of other health issues I have; and apparently, just as I was being discharged from recovery to go to my room, I saw my nurse and noticed that she was very pregnant (former NICU, newborn nursery, postpartum, and L&D nurse), congratulated her and told her that she doesn't have to be scared of labor, and she should try to rest when the baby rests, and I would be praying for all to go well for her and her baby. I barely remember that, but my sister told me that I just went into nurse and mama mode, and then went back to not wanting to breathe.

The Head of Clinical Education at the teaching hospital I used to work in is Filipino. Soft spoken and a hardworking man.
