I see so many parents just trying to get their kids a ride to the NHL. But this kid for 7 yrs old is amazing, ik i couldnt do half of that at his age. He plays way ahead of his age and i can tell hes actually got some potential
As i live in frisco and am going to a boarding school for hockey next year i am glad to see a kid growing up loving the sport. Never give up your dream
very impressive, some of his goals look like Ovie when he's falling down scoring - NICE - keep up the good work - and the stick handling, wonderful!!!!!!!
I played with him when he was that age, and I have seen him get so much better. I was good for his age but there probably are kids that have been better.
now that kid is gonna be one hell of a player when he gets older not too fancy he's just stickhandling to find his way through guys and he's stickhandling the RIGHT way and i really like the way he finds his way through defenders he could try skating a little harder though and his shot is good but with just a little more work he could a childhood superstar
I play Bantam in the same DSYHL that this kid plays in and I got to say he has some really impressive skills for his age group and from this video I can tell he has some real talent and if he keeps practicing and continues to play he could be very good and I give the kid props for what he's able to do definitely one of the more dominating players of his age group i have seen
very impressive, some of his goals look like Ovie when he's falling down scoring - NICE - keep up the good work - and the stick handling, wonderful!!!!!!! - and I just saw the 30 dislikes - SHAME ON YOU!
For everyone saying he is a puck hog, the kid is 7. Let him have his fun. Agreeably as he gets older it's a habit he must break, but as a 7 year old puck hogging isn't unusual, and it's actually allowing him to hone his skill.
Jumbotron style scoreboards, spotlights after goals for 7 year olds!? Man, that is an awesome league! Our rink wont even turn the heating pipes on over the metal bleachers where parents watch the kids because its just reserved for the Jr. A team team fans. My son is only 5 but cant see that changing in 2 years. Anyway, parents gotta be proud of that kid. Whata standout. He must really love playing hockey.
Something that helps me is to tape around my ankles when my skates are on it makes the skates from moving around when they are on your feet and adds a little more stability to your feet so you can skate a little more faster it helps me
after rewatching the video, i would also tuck the tongue from his skates under the kneepads, and sock tape around the bottom knee pad/ankle, will give him much more support and in the end make him much sturdier on his skates. You will never lose a stride or fall from his ankle giving out. Which i see happens
yes i tuck my skates, doesnt hurt one bit, its not tucked in my foot lol. Tucks under my knee pads so really no difference in feeling with my foot. But hella lot sturdier
that doesnt build any strength with tongues out, support builds strength silly lol. All you going to do is break an angle, not called ankle benders for nothing. Kids should always wear high top runners too. My dad was super ahtletic, had 4 boys, and all of us had to wear high runners and tongues in. And we are all rock solid on our feet. How would tongues out build ankle strength? Would love to hear your logic on that one.An ankle isnt a muscle, its a tendon, you want that tendon to be strong by supporting it. You weaken the tenden by bending the wrong way with no support, now you have a weak ankle. Support it so it cant bend the wrong way! Fairly simple
How did so many people end up watching this video anyway? No one ever watched any of mine. LoL. My son will try out for Squirt travel this time next year. He will be 8 though because of a Dec birthday. They had over 100 kids try out for 45 spots this year so who knows. They get more ice time in house because the periods are longer and the teams are smaller. But it's nice to find videos of kids playing at the age he is now. He hasn't watched it yet because we rush in the morning for the bus but after hockey and soccer practice tonight we will have time.
Kudos to the parents of this child. You raising a future NHL'er. One day your son will appreciate your 5am wakeup's, road trips and huge sums of money you've invested. Keep'em out of negative people. Please buy him 7 Habits of Successful people for kids by Stephen Covey.
He didn't have enough XP left to put into the passing skill, it was all spent in Handling, shooting, and deking! :p NHL 12 reference, sorry if you don't understand.
hes awesome but...Im my leagues Best number 1 Stick handler and puck controller and in the top 5 in passing im the alternate captain leading scorer and we just won a championship last month and i have like 406 goals in like 4 years but this kids amazing!! nice vid bro Written by Connor MW Atom 2 riverview Canada
My son is 7 and we watch hockey videos everyday. At least I can show him a kid his age for a change. After reading some comments glad no one watches the videos I post of my kids. Lol. There is no way to tell who will be a phenom until 16/17. Lionel Mesi(soccer) was cut from a team at 11. He is arguable amongst the best I the world. Jordan was cut Freahman year of HS. You never know😜
TheKristie111 I hear ya! And you are seeing the comments that I approved. You should see some of the comments I deleted. Unbelievable the mouth on some of these kids.... So an update. My son (the one in the video) is now 12 and playing Pee Wee Major. He is playing on the top level team in Texas, but he is by far not the top player on the team. I totally agree. Each kid progresses on their own schedule. As long as thet are having fun. :)
In the Dallas Metroplex House League the Stars do the Rink Of Dreams program where house teams from the metroplex get to play in the AAC I did in my first year of Mites 8U but after that I have been playing travel.
actually according to the rules if you have possession of the puck that you play behind you with your skates over the blue line it shall be considered on sides
Im 43, lived in Ontario Canada all my life. Brother was born in Gretzky town Brantford the same year. We ate breathed hockey. I remember when Hockey Night in Canada was a total family event. Looking forward to that Leafs game via tv guide listing. Bob Coles patented voice from Maple Leaf Gardens. We never had a chance to be on the ice due to affordability at the prime age of 8. When I see videos like this I salute the parents that struggle hard to take kids to their practices and most of all pay for the game fees etc. So although I am now a grown man past my prime I live my imagination of being that strong ice hockey player through these videos. Good work parents !!!
+Sss Thanks SSS!! This was shot when my son was 7. He's 13 now and plays on a AAA travel team. Lots of dedication from the entire family to make it work. But wouldn't have it any other way. :)
whats impressive is that his moves arent rehearsed, he actually makes the opposition move and then reacts. at such a young age that hockey sense is rare
awesome! My boy is 5 and been playing for a year. It's crazy how fast they progress. I just uploaded a couple of videos from his training session tonight.

The kids who make it far are the ones who try their best to get better.
this kid will be a superstar. keep playing!
This is amazing iv played in thos rinks and iv skated through the star, I recognize everything
very impressive, some of his goals look like Ovie when he's falling down scoring - NICE - keep up the good work - and the stick handling, wonderful!!!!!!!
I played with him when he was that age, and I have seen him get so much better. I was good for his age but there probably are kids that have been better.
I love his work ethic!
The Kid has Talent for Sure. Wish Him all the Best. Have a Wonderful Day~~~

With your next video you should make longer clips.
Good luck to him, he's doing great!
Even though he is only 7, he looks good for his age.
does he roll his wrists when he stickhandles? because it doesn't look like it.
DANG!!!! Next to 1st round draft pick for NHL

TheKristie111 I posted this video 5 years ago, so time is a big reason for the number of views. Also, the title and key words helped quite a bit.
This kid is going to the NHL
But one of the best hockey player
Sick mits

The real Leafs should sign this kid!

Lol because 7 year olds are gonna have a special entrance
They do if their team gets invited to do a game for fun at an NHL game in between periods
In the Dallas Metroplex House League the Stars do the Rink Of Dreams program where house teams from the metroplex get to play in the AAC I did in my first year of Mites 8U but after that I have been playing travel.
I would like to see him go against aito iguchi
if he keeps at it, it could be special!
He needs to keep his head up more
0:56 so funny ^^
Kids gotta a nose for the net, but it takes 5 skaters to win hockey games. Best to learn that now...
Great moves = skating better than the kids in his age group.
got to keep your head up kid... but ur a pretty good skater and you seem to have a good set of hand.
It's funny, all these harsh comments are true. He's alright but your forgetting you edited out his passes! ( or he doesn't make any? )
Does he actually play for Canada
Fun
Aerosmith- Dream On
What are the hockey standards in America? I know in Canada this would be Atom..
@palupa11 - He's now 8, but all the video was shot when he was 7.

Shut the fuck up. So can every other kid that has played hockey for at least a year
How manny teams is this kid on lol...
He's gonna be bragging for the rest of his life that his stick was a magic wand when he was 7
Kids VERY talented for 7 years old… his stick handling is beyond impressive for his age, future Patrick Kaine right there.
