  • themakersguide.com How to square up stock on a CNC milling machine. Explains the basic skill of making your stock square with all adjacent sides perpendicular and opposite sides parallel. I used a Haas VF0 machining center to make these parts. The tools used were a 2" face mill and a 3/4" endmill.
I made parts for converting a Grizzly G0704 milling machine to CNC. I am blogging about the project here. www.themakersguide.com/making-...

Thank You Tim G. I know when I started I did not realize how important having a Square blank was. Once I learned from experience, I was convinced that it is the only way to do it.

Hey Bill Griggs, please help me with something i am confused about. I was always taught you machine one face flat then flip the workpiece over and machine that new side parallel and then put both machined sides against fixed and moving jaws and machine perpendicular sides on Y axis. Is this wrong? Thank you in advance.
