Man, loss of sleep can do some crazy things to you, especially mentally and emotionally. I have mental illnesses and if I go too long without sleep it can make it thousands of times worse. Now that I'm on meds it doesn't really happen as much because we determined that I have a sleep disorder so I'm doped up on sleep meds every night, but when I wasn't on meds, there were times that I would go 2 or 3 days with maybe 3 or 4 hours of sleep and it'd make me go insane. I'd be so angry, I'd be hateful to my family by cursing them and screaming, I'd get depressed I would get suicidal and my thoughts would drive me so crazy that I would ball up in a corner of a room crying and would rock myself until I calmed down. Once I finally crashed, I would sleep for a day or two. Sleep is EXTREMELY important and necessary in order to have a good quality of life.

What sleep meds help? After 12 back surgeries, 2 weeks in ICU, 3 months in physical rehab and a year in a retirement home with a full body cast on has left me with insomnia. Nothing works so far .
Ive never went trough the same as you and i hope you are doing better but ive made the mistake of sleep depriving myself for a year where i would only sleep around 5 hours a night because i went to work and stayed up late to have more time for myself.. that ended up having negative effects on my job performance, social skills and overall physical health i cant even imagine having some sort of mental illness and deal with that

When I was in my heavy using days, I stayed awake for ten days straight. They say when this happens, you fall asleep without even knowing it for milliseconds at a time, to keep your brain and body going⊠I donât remember any sleep sessions. I do remember hallucinating very vividly, ramped paranoia and a three day ânapâ afterwards. I lost so much weight. I would put food in my mouth and it felt like I had put dry powder in my mouth. I would force myself to eat and drink because I knew my body had to have sustenance. I am so grateful to be off that junk!

My husband was forced to stay awake for 3 days straight while in the military, and it mentally broke him. Now he is 100% mentally disabled service-connected (due to the military).

@@nickberatta7506 I'm actually not. It's a combination of being sleep-deprived, going through basic military training (which is long and grueling), and hazing. They rarely give 100%, I looked at his files and they admitted they gave him 100% of his mental disability.

Because the odds of them being able to pull it off are slim to none. Talking about it is one thing, actually doing it is another. Thereâs also likely stuff about the facility that isnât being shared that would be a factor.
I agree, i once stayed awake over two days and I had trouble sleeping afterwards when I was free to do so. Sleep deprivation causes all sorts of weird side effects!
I remember in the Marine Corps going beyond 48 hrs numerous times. We worked 18-20 hr days when we deployed for 6-7 months on a couple deployments. Being in good shape helps you be able to tolerate less sleep IMHO. Probably more so dealing with the symptoms of sleeplessness.
Don't they force you to stay awake your first couple of days? My brother was a marine and I remember him saying something about not being allowed to sleep leading up to boot camp, not even on the plane on the way to the base.
I done a sleep deprivation exercise early on in my army career, after 5 days most people where hallucinating, me included, after a few got med vacted out the docs stepped in and pulled the exercise saying the instructors are being bell ends, they all got rtu,ed , lots of threats came my way as several instructors where from the unit I was going too, my response was I can't knock you out here but I'll flatten the lot of you when I get there, they all apologised once I got there!
We conduct similar experiments regularly. I have made it to nine days before. I'd like to tell you that I experienced pretty severe hallucinations, but I managed to hold onto a couple of them.

@@Clippers23 I've made it a little over 50 hours. Your brain really does shut down though. Your body still moves somewhat normally, but you're not really there. It's very much like the saying "The lights are on, but no one is home"

The Germans did experiments like this, but the subjects tore themselves open, not each other and tried to eat themselves in a couple of cases long after they stopped eating and then stopped drinking etc

What he said about not being able to stay awake for 15 days it's true because the world record held for staying awake the longest was an experiment done by a 17 year old boy called Randy Gardner who stayed awake for a total of 11 days straight as part of a highschool project in 1964

Then I started dreaming about a documentary about how loved and important sirenhead is to many people as a community.

I heard of the Russian sleep experiment in psychology but not in the way it was told in this video (not that yâall made it up) it was basically they were going insane from hallucinations and were begging to be let out I think itâs been a few years but that was the extent of it and they only stayed up a few days

Another thing that makes the Russian Sleep Experiment so unbelievable; how exactly is one still so lucid and well-spoken as to go "we are the demons that keep you up at night, what you hide from in your bed" and all that other stuff, after all the brutal mutilation they endured? The gas did nothing to heighten their intelligence, vocabulary, or literacy. So all that pain and all the damage should have prevented the prisoner from so vividly describing the nightmare he supposedly is.

During my addiction, I maxed out at 9 days before walking 32 miles to see my mom before walking back to turn myself in and start on the long road to recovery. I lost track of the days around day 4 or 5.
That's sad I did things in my years of addiction I am not proud of but nothing near that crazy

There was technically a sleep experiment, but it only lasted 2 to 3 days and was not performed again. Thankfully there was no ripping of flesh or vital organs. I'm pretty sure it was done in America. There wasn't any gas, either. They were just supposed to stay awake and were kept awake with loud music as the stimulus. It did mess them up psychologically, but no one was begging for that sweet, sweet gas. Unfortunately, many prisoners have been tortured by loud music being played on repeat, but the guards call it "fun" instead of an experiment. Still, none of that sweet gas that makes them wanna eat their arm

i disliked how they missed a bit of information in the sleep experiment. at one point they covered the windows in feces and paper from books they had been given, and the reason they didnt use anesthetic on the second guy was because he was freaking out and said he would calm down if the anesthetics were not used and some other things.

The story claims that the US Army says that after 24-48 hrs troops are combat ineffective.
During Gulf War 1 US Air Force pilots were ORDERED to take "pep pills" (amphetamine) in order to fly more sorties and only take a pair of 2-3 hrs naps per day. This led to a strong spike in Friendly Fire target misidentifications.
And then the pilots who were FORCED to take the drugs were punished for the effects which the drugs caused, even though their Commanders ORDERED them during WARTIME and in an Active Warzone to take the drugs. (Refusal would mean arresting the pilots and holding them without communication or legal counsel until the end of hostilities. And then sentencing them without allowing them to provide a Defense.)

In regards to the second video about El Chapo. I believe he COULD get out. Will he get out? The chances are slim to none, but if ANYONE could escape it would be him. It may only be a matter of time, but it's likely just not going to happen.
My Grandpa was born in 1920, and passed at age 103 July 2023. Just at the end of a world spanish flu pandemic and lived long enough for another world pandemic, covid 19.
