Andriy Po.. I couldn't agree more! I'd much rather listen to Dave Simpson than either of those those two that he mentioned. He may have been inspired by them as a newbie, but , to me, they don't belong in the same league as himself. Dave you are selling yourself short by not realising you have more musicality and feel than either of those guys-(but that's just to my ears)

This is an ideal format for you to dig deeper into your Heroes, Dave.
It's like STORYTELLING, informative, demos, facts, gear, history, technique, but most importantly personal resonance.
Don't doubt yourself, THIS is what we want to hear!

Wow love the video man! Mike is my hero as well, but like you mentioned your influence is how you play. For me it’s SRV, Mike and Ace Frehley and Hendrix. And ironic enough SRV and Ace were Mikes hero’s and he’s a mixture of both when I hear him play recently I saw him for the very 1st time in Ft. Worth Tx PJ is my favorite band of all time. The 59 or now we know it’s a 60 Strat shows his obsession with SRV. And Les Pauls was because his Ace influence. The fast licks reminds me Ace so much Mike said he ripped him off on the “Alive” solo and for “Even Flow” he was ripping off SRV. But I’m lucky to see him live that was my bucket list and also saw the Chili Peppers recently in Houston with the Strokes another favorite bands of mine. Mike is my ultimate hero along side SRV so much that I had someone build me the blonde strat from the ten era built for me and now I have someone build me an exact replica of his 60 strat.

When the intro jam kicked in, I paused and side-eyed my phone... my immediate concern was, Mr. Dave's gone off the rails! He's said F' it! and has gone on a copyrighted material binge... Happily, you're much too clever to let "BIG MUSIC" shut your magic down. Wonderful jam and a great video! Mike McCready has been in my top 3 for a couple decades now... our numbers 1 and 2 are the same. My number 3 is Mr. Paul Simon.
Always happy to spend part of my day with you, Mr. Dave!

Amazing player and so underrated! I have been lucky and saw PJ 6 times. However the first time at Brixton was one of the all time best concerts I have seen. A months before V’s was released they came on and did all of Ten, some of V’s and a few b sides/covers. However the highlight was the final song, Indifference. A great slow, sad epic song to finish with but as a last song that no-one in crowd would have heard was a risk and they nailed it. When the track ended, there was stunned silence and the crowd erupted. An amazing end to an amazing night.

Great playing Dave. Especially the behind the head stuff. Not enough pointing for Mike though. He loves a good point of the finger does Mike. His strat is also to die for. You can get a replica of his roadworn sunburst strat for a mere 13k if you have that change lying about. Stone Gossard is also a very underated rhythm guitarist.

Been waiting for a Mike vid. For a while. Whenever you mention your heroes it always seems to go "John Frusciante, Jimi, Peter Green and Rory Gallagher. Oh... and Mike McCready" almost as an after thought. But I've always heard his playing in yours a lot. A very lot. And I mean that as a huge compliment and certainly not a criticism so I was intrigued to hear you rate him #2 in the 'Dave Simpson Hall of Fame'.
Been a massive fan of Mike myself ever since I first saw Pearl Jam back in 1992 at Bradford Queen's Hall on their first UK tour and it was a whopping... wait for it... £3 to get in!
