Watch Full Episode - • Louis C.K. Was Almost GAY Comedian and Filmmaker Louis CK talks about how Tom Cruise's Top Gun: Maverick made him cry in theatres.
I once heard Joe Rogan talk about how he worked really hard at being a good interviewer. He had to learn how to really listen, how not to insert himself into an interview. Which is harder than it seems and which something Schultz is far from mastering.
I find myself doing that more. Normally I would hear something then start talking over people. I realized you're not interviewing/speaking with anyone other than yourself.
Joe still turns into a stuttering fanboy when he has guests he really idolises. I think Andrew was just overwhelmed at having one of the greatest comedians of our time, as a guest.
I’m of the younger generation but is a fan of the 1986 Top Gun. I cried, i laughed and cried happy tears throughout the movie while smiling from ear to ear. Just so much mixed emotions. I freaking LOVED IT and watched it 4x in theatres 🙂 Thank you Tom Cruise!
I love that they made the mission so clear and defined with the training sequences. When the mission actually came, you knew exactly what needed to happen by whom and when. That made it so much more tense when shit started going wrong.
God, at least I’m not the only one. I watched the whole thing, and the whole time he’s just loud, interrupting and always « trying » to be funny it just gets annoying. You can see Louis just wanted to talk
That's Louis. He is a cineast through and through. collects lenses, writes, directs and cuts his stuff. not just one of the greatest comedians of all time. he is a quarter Tarantino. love him. lol
Louis CK is back men..... He is a comedian who knows how to attract audience with real sense of laughter! His story has an art that carefully crafted and delivered best ever.... Guys, bring him regularly! He has all the fun to enjoy every bit of it! Love your show...
Louis is completely correct on "Hard Times" as it is one of the greatest movies ever made. If you haven't seen it I can't stress enough how much you should seek it out and watch it.
no surprise he likes it. it's about an aging fighter who despite being old fights his way up. that's what Louis is doing. I do this too, most people I think. I look for material that is relatable and use it to motivate me given my current situation.
Bronson is so good. I love tom hardy, like most ppl, but didn't finish that movie - Bronson. I have to watch it again. But was that a good movie and I didn't get it? Didn't draw me in, but I was tired and had every intention of finishing it. Fell asleep. Idk.
When the other dude took over the class and suddenly you hear some plane is out there and you know it's Maverick.... Come on, that was awesome. Also, him flying the F-14 again was just epic
@@pigs6486 Unnamed rogue nation. Having a real world enemy wasn't that important. It's all about seeing Maverick still being a badass pilot and dogfighter throughout the movie.

The fact that there's too many people on stage turns everything into a circus and prevents most serious conversations. They managed to get some serious stuff across despite that.
Oh, man.. I would love to talk with Louis about movies for an entire afternoon! My favorite North American directors are Linklater and Jarmusch, and Tarantino and Allen obviously, but I can see he knows a lot about movies and stuff, and I would listen to him talking about this topic for hours. Also, I am not a big fan of Nolan's movies either. I recognize the hard work, but they don't speak to me. Nice episode, I am not a big fan of Andrew's work, but he did well by inviting Joe and Louis. The movie is great, btw. FOURTH OF JULY, check it out!
Maybe, but you need to have a set of skills to make a movie that you only get from experience in movie making and also a creative vision and spark that will make your work unique. He might have that or he might not, it is difficult to be a really great director because really creative people are rare.
I was shocked by the crowd reaction & got into that more so than the movie itself... it was a good Tom Cruise movie (definitely not his even in his top 5 best) but everyone in the theater was super involved in way that I hadn't seen since I was way younger. The original Matrix back in 99 was probably the last time I was in a theater like that or Independence Day... End Game had some elements of it but it felt forced/manufactured which stifled it down, like a few people wanted to get engaged but most didn't.

Maverick: Chief Inspector David Seaman has confirmed that The Queen fought right till the end...like me! (Maverick falls on his knees and breaks down in tears with his face in his hands) Rooster: Come on Mav, what did she say?! Just say the word and I'll get our jet ready! (Maverick gathers up all his strength to bring out that timeless grin across his face, and looks Rooster in the eye) Maverick: Her last words were "Don't think...Just Do!" Andrew is getting worse at this. cutting guests off mid-sentence. putting his shoe in their face.
Thank youuuuuu
He can never sit like a normal person i hate it so much
True ! he needs to be more prepared and should ask good questions cuz he be waisting time on nonsense!
That's how narcissistic he is

Johnathan Nolan is unsung hero who wrote Interstellar.

Better that it made him cry, rather than the alternative.

Andrew, please discuss Westworld someday, created by Johnathan Nolan and Lisa Joy!
This whole crew is so full of themselves now
If you're a guy, Top Gun makes you hard so you get the feeling how Maverick controls his "stick"
Is that what is making the men hard after seeing this movie?
None of this is true unless you are gay, then yeah.
All of Nolan's movies are about movie making, either as a metaphor or showcasing to an audience how the rules can be bent and/or broken.
Okay, this is cool.
What kind of question is "why story is important for films"? WTF?!
4:35 How is it possible that none of them jumped at "It's a cock fight with men"?
