I watched dune for the first time in theatre and I agreed completely with Louie. They were very “ehh”. But after second rewatch on HBO max I realized it’s a really good movie and deserves the praise.
Same shit happened to me too. In the theaters j was like. Eh ok. Cool visuals. Some way somehow I ended up rewatching it on hbo at home in my 5.1 and I enjoyed it quite a bit. Actually looking forward to part 2

I loved Dune, but I also love his hatred of it. He had an emotional reaction to a piece of art. Dune may not work as a movie for many people (which I can certainly understand), but you can't deny the look and feel of the world is insanely impressive. It all had weight, unlike Marvel Movie #435.

I enjoyed Dune until two of the main characters ran to the "island" rock to escape the sand monster, then it sucked + riding the sand monster like a camel = I won't be watching the sequel.
