Such a great, unique show. Part comedy, part acid trip, part nightmare, part heartfelt drama, and part cold reality. This is the sort of show some channel should run rerun blocks from 11 pm to 1 am every night like they do with Roseanne and The Office and garbage like Big Bang Theory. Unfortunately that won't happen but at least Louis still makes it available.
Whats the depressed skit episode again? Its like he wakes up and everything is grey and shitty, and everyone is shitty too. He is showing what his depression looks like. It was a a great skit

I remember that scene 😂 also when Louie went to a DVD store and some employee fucks with him, he checked the cctv just to see on the video with the weird looking himself it represents perfectly how I hated to see myself in a live demo of cctv 😂
to this day i don't know why but the timing, the intonation, the whole tiny scene with the therapist saying..."Do you think it's because you're fat" makes me bust out laughing no matter what. I can't explain it fully. A lot of Louie the show was like that, it has moments I randomly think of and start laughing. Like the episode where his kid's doll arrives with its eyes messed up and he goes berserk trying to repair it
This is probably one of those shows that will always feel like it's way ahead of its time which felt like a mixture of all kinds of emotions packed together. It makes you laugh out of loud and then instantly make you sad and think about life in general and the choices we make and why we make them. Will forever be grateful to Louis CK who hasn't just brought the most laughs out of me but also for being a philosopher who got me through the toughest of times. "Misery is wasted on the miserable" I'll always remember this quote.
you know one of my absolute favorite things about this show was how louie never tried to portray himself as a cool guy. he's often the most awkward least informed person in the scene lol, and he plays those moments perfectly!
@@TheKitchenerLeslie Nah, what u talkin' 'bout, Willis? As the late, great Norm Macdonald said, nobody likes a guy who's smarter than them. Also, Louis doesn't have a massive ego. His goal was to make a funny show, and he achieved that.

Love the show. Louie really left his mark with that show. It represents the unseen man with all of the tragic and hilarious slice of life stories, mixed with the absurdities of life in NYC. He gave his friends and fellow comics roles, and even threw Anthony Cumia a bone to play the morning disc jockey @ 15:02. I adore Pamela Adlon too and Louie and his television projects were the first time I remember seeing her onscreen in Lucky Louie. The military/USO saga in this show is one of my all-time favorite television moments. Funny, heartfelt, totally real…you forget that you’re watching a “show” for basically the whole thing.
I loved it when he talked about all the complaining we all do whenever we have to board a plane and fly somewhere. He said that we've lost our appreciation for the miracle of flight. one of the best shows out there, but probably not for everyone. loved how unpredictable that show was. It could be hilarious banter and surreal little trips ... or a Lynchian nightmare and a drama about a depressed comedian

I love how the writing is as awkward and straightforward as it could possibly be. Nothing is ever explained...everything is just presented as is and the explanations always fall short and get more confusing each time a new explanation is attempted. Its as though louis is being punished for wanting a rational explanation for anything or everything, but he always does the right thing in the end
Ricky being a doctor and constantly talking shit is always such a treat
"Are you sure you feel like shit? Because you look like diarrhea."
Ricky Gervais is basically a professional belligerent asshole.
