    Can't thank you enough for these videos as a new DIYer, it's hard to cut through all the bs claims made by these product companies without seeing real tests. I'd love to see the "best of the best" test, maybe do one or two more updates on this panel then swap to the new test?

    Please keep it going. Now I live in a warm environment but previously I lived in an extremely cold one and in both situations the carpro lite was an unbelievable success. But I have never tried the gyeon and I would like to see how long it last compared to carpro. I recently purchased the fuso but I haven’t installed it yet and that’s more of a relaxing experience on a weekend. Thanks for all the hard work. 👍🏽

    Great test, thank you so much for your long and detailed effort.
    Personally, because the Fusso Coat is so cheap, I am very happy to apply it once every 3 or 4 months. The gloss when it is within this 3 to 4 month period is very good, and it is ultra hydrophobic, so I will continue to use it.
    I guess for me, detailing is an enjoyable hobby, and as I wash my car every week anyway, and use bead maker & dream maker as a topper, it's really no effort for me to use Fusso coat as a base layer.

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Great point!
      I completely get that and its why I now use toppers for my coated cars as I enjoy adding that extra gloss after every few washes

    One solution, is buy a second test panel. Keep this on going and start a test on the new panel.
    I applied the gyeon to my wife's car at Easter based on this series. Decon, clay, compound and polish by hand, IPA, then the can coat. I am super impressed with the final product. Looks brilliant. I don't own a DA polisher yet so had to do it by hand (never again I'm buying a DA soon). What did really surprise me was the ability for the coating to hide several severe defects in the paint. It would cover deep scratches that were through the clear coat, but there were heaps that the hand polish wouldn't remove but the coating covered them so they weren't that noticeable any more. The carpro looks good. Might try it next. But for $60 AUD from Repco, the gyeon is unbeatable value IMO. Thinking keep can coat for the mags, and will try UK next time.
    With the DA polisher. Looking at the shine mate ex610. Seem ok for a first time polisher?

    Just ordered a bottle of CanCoat...I liked the Carpro too, and I use many of their products (Perl is an all timer, and I like IronX and Trix), but I feel like in this case, CanCoat is a bit better bargain as you can cover more vehicles with it per dollar, it's a little less goofy to apply, and you can sort of treat it as a long term topper in some use cases. That being said they're both excellent and I had great results with Carpro CQuartz SiC on my old man's car so you really can't go wrong with either brand. I own multiple products from both and have no complaints.

    • @adamcoe
      @adamcoe Před 2 měsíci

      Just this evening finished applying 2 coats of Cancoat and it is as advertised. Wipe on, wipe off. Use just a little at a time (seriously! More isn't better), and split up panels maybe a little smaller than with say, a quick detailer. I split the side doors into two sections, hood into three. Finished 2 coats on a midsize SUV (Mitsubishi Outlander) in a little under 2 hours, and I'm sure if you didn't dog it like I did (I am strictly a weekend warrior and took breaks) I'm sure you could get it on even quicker. Now the waiting game to see what it looks like tomorrow after it has some cure time.

    I used cancoat and fusso on my daily drivers. In the real world environment the main difference was the fusso seemed stickier and attracted dirt and grime in between washes. It also left white marks at the edge of my ppf so overall, I much prefer cancoat and will go back to that. Cancoat also lasted approx twice as long in the real world (12 vs 6 months).

    Good video. New to the channel. Im a gyeon guy all day . Install alot of cancoat. A # of customers that i see regularly are getting 18 months. All love it but some after a month kind of forget about it . Busy lives . The customer has alot more to do with longevity of any product than us detailers . We can only do so much after it leaves us . As far as waxes interested on your take of tw 75th anniversary paste . Im not seeing the 12 month claim . Ofcourse where im at in the states there is like 15 seasons of weather . Maybe a good comparison to fusso . Spray and rince its wetcoat all day .

I tried separately protective coating my leather/cloth seats and it was a nightmare so might DIY Detail ceramic coat the seats 🤞🤞🤞😊😊😊. Applied Can Coat based on this series. Followed all normal coating prep and even applied it on a cloudy day. Two days after applying, it rained, but the coating seemed to be doing fine. A week later, my neighbors hosed their sprinklers on my car and it needed washed. Used P&S Perl, which is supposed to be safe for coatings and was concerned to find that the coating had minimal hydrophobic properties left. It's a daily driver and sits outside in rain, shine, etc. but I still expected more than two weeks of protection. Applied Wet Coat after this and it too only lasted about two weeks before water wouldn't roll off the panels anymore. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, to be honest.

    • @victoryensured7137
      @victoryensured7137 Před 3 měsíci +1

      Did u do a light polish in the prep stage? If you had any left over protection it might be affected big time by it. I really can't imagine why your getting poor results, what is the production date on the Can Coat? Maybe it's super old (like 3-4 years) then maybe it lost it's punch. But still, not opened, even with an old production date it still should perform a looot better. I've had one with a shelf life (after opening) over a 1,5y and still did a whole car and it's working great (car kept outside). Did you topped with anything besides wet coat? Some toppers are not compatible with it, i recommend using only Gyeon brand stuff on it (like Cure, Wetcoat, Ceramic Det), and hope you used Gyeon Prep as the ,,IPA" wipe. Always use panel prep of the company you use the coating.

      6 months for me and going VERY strong, I suggest checking your prep/curing time and/or process of applying.

    • @masoncolvin9896
      @masoncolvin9896 Před 3 měsíci

      Could use a decon wash , or use a water spot remover. coatings get clogged and may need something to help unclog them. That hard water from rain and water sprinklers leave hard water and minerals on the paint. DIY details CZcams channel has good videos about unclogging coatings. Not saying this is the problem but worth a try (I’ve never used can coat so take my comment with a grain of salt) hope this helps

    Some of my thoughts about this would be,
    how would they deal with more regular washing,
    how would they cope with a high alkaline and or an acidic prewash,
    These are used by many to clean traffic film from the car?

    • @EvolvedDetails
      @EvolvedDetails  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Some good questions, I did do a few extra washes but wasn't regularly enough to count so I'd say with weekly washes the results might be different either better or worse.
      We don't really use traffic from cleaners here in Australia so generally just ph neutral snow foams but alkaline products would definitely make a difference in the life of these

      @@EvolvedDetails quick question, what’s your opinion on:
      I wanna coat my gfs and my moms car (they don’t really care about swirls) but since I wash them I want to make my life easier and coat them.
      I’m still learning so I don’t polish paint yet but I know everything else about prep, Decontamination and all of that.
      What kind of results can I get if I do everything else necessary to prep the paint expect polishing it, what can I expect from the ceramic coat? Will it make it not last as long, will it only like a a couple of months or what’s your experience or thoughts on that.

    In my opinion, for all practical purposes, this test is over. Besides the hydrophobic performance, I liked the fact that the CarPro deepened the color of the paint. On the other hand, after a year I’m ready for a fresh coat of protection anyway, so ease of application is a player too. In the end, it boils down to user preference. For the purposes of your test, CarPro lasted longer, so that!s a win if that’s what is important to you. Thanks 👍

      I'd say for people who don't have experience with coatings and having to worry about high spots.
      As this is so easy to use and could just be reapplied every 4 months so if someone bought it they'd still get a few years of use from it.
      And while yes I'd rather spend the extra effort on Carpro I can see why some would like an easier to use product
