If you really like this one then Slaying The Dreamer from the same concert is a must! This concert is epic. Floor showcases her vocal prowess and sets the standard for every vocalist of what a live performance should sound like. She's on a level of her own. She gives a haunting, mystical, and hypnotic performance while singing "Dead Boys Poem" in this same concert. It is a song written about how the composer/keyboard player/musical Mozart is saying a farewell to the world and how he wants to be remembered after death. You have just scratched the surface with Nightwish, and you will be blown away if you continue with this journey.
Perhaps Yours is an Empty Hope from either Wembley or Mexico City.
Or, Song of Myself from Wacken. The short version maybe - not sure if you are prepared for the open word poetry on the extended version lmao.

This song is like symphonic thrash metal lol. Oh and they have even heavier stuff. "Master Passion Greed" is brutal and epic with Marko the bass player only doing the vocals. Highly recommen that one!
Marko's Devil character is amorously pursuing Floor's Mermaid character. She is having none of it.
An older song, it predates Marko joining in 2001. From the 2nd album ,Oceanborn in 1998, sung by original lead singer Tarja Turunen (96-05) and guest male vocalist Tapio Wilska, with Sami Vanska (98-01) on bass. This Buenos Aires 2018 show was on the Decades tour, and featured a lot of older songs.
This is your 1st video later than Wacken, you may have noticed a different drummer. Kai Hahto is seen here. Original drummer ,Jukka Nevalainen, had to step aside from performing in 2014 due to health issues caused by severe insomnia, but he remains with the band in management. Jukka called his frind ,Kai from Wintersun, to take over. More heavy from them? Try Yours Is an Empty Hope from the Wembley 2015 show.
The closest you could come to bracketing Nightwish would be to do Master Passion Greed and the Hows the Heart [acoustic] back to back.

haha besides "yours is an empty hope" people recommend I think you would enjoy the opener from Whembley "Shudder before the Beautiful" and another from Whembley "7 Days To The Wolves" where Floor goes a tad bit medieval LOL, and for happy try "T Want My Tears Back" from Buenos Aires, haha don't worry there are tons more and each different and great from different concerts, enjoy the journey.
Every Nightwish song has these elements: great vocals and instrumentation, awesome lyrics and arrangement, very epic......... Anything else that happens during the song is Open season......lol

I appreciate more and more, day after day, the singing talents of Floor. No matter what song, or what line from any song, she is so fantastically perfect Glorious Beautifully performed.
This is a good song for nightwish There's song, song of myself just hits differently and better and I think you should try epic it again try their song abuss of time
The funny part: This isn't Nightwish's heaviest. They go harder, but only when it is called for. As others said, you should next react to Yours is an Empty Hope, live from the Vehicle of Spirit show at Wembley Arena. If you don't do that, then I'd say to do the show from Mexico City, but Wembley is the gold standard for that one.
And even with that, you're still not ready for their heaviest, because there is backstory to their heaviest song that you should research prior to doing it; when you do that research, you'll understand not only that it is Nightwish's heaviest song, but WHY it is their heaviest song. We'll let you know when you're ready.

😃Good reaction guy's.Some of their songs,you have to hear them multiple times to get into it and they have ofcourse a lot of poetic lyrics in them and for me it get's even better if you have some background info about the songs and even the musicians themselves.

To be honest, this was the first song from them that caught my attention. Not to into the theatrical stuff and some of the other stuff I've seen has been more on that side. This was amazing
I'm either obsessed with a handful of Nightwish songs (specific performances really) and the rest I don't care about at all. Too Disney and Eurovision for me. There's no middle ground. The songs that I do like, I LOVE.

I think songs like that from the Tarja era are too much for newcomers. Its usually do the wow effect but this may be a little too much for some one who do not know yet waht to expect :D
