The TRAGIC Story Of Bugatti

- The story behind Bugatti, is a story of success and tragedy. To understand what I’m saying, we have to go back a century ago, in the basement of a house from Germany. Ettore Bugatti had just finished building his car, so he decided to leave his job and start up his own company in France. During the next few years, he created some of the fastest and luxurious cars under his name, becoming one of the best engineers at his time. But despite his success, it all came down overnight when Ettore was forced to give away his company, never knowing what the Bugatti brand turned out to be…

I want to thank everyone for the support and critics from the video! I’m reading every single comment so far and I’m also now aware of the mistakes and mispronounced names I made in the video. I will do my best to make sure this won’t happen again. There will be another updated Bugatti video correcting all these problems, hopefully you guys stay for future videos🙂, Thanks again for watching.
Don't take the comments to heart. Just take notes and move on. And please don't fixate on pronunciation as nobody is perfect in English, especially folks where its not their first language (we see that alot on CZcams). Get the facts as accurate as you can and push out the video. People need to understand that you do not have a Disney/Hollywood budget. You're doing great and ignore the haters that are too scared to have their own channel. Thanks for what you do for us. We appreciate it and your CZcams future is bright!
It was mis managed in the early 90's, remember jaguar and Ford had more money and slower cars than the EB110. Just remember that there was a few EB110 that was faster and quicker, Ford and Jaguar had more money at that time. How about a video on Bugatti about the EB110 , all of the EB110 not the chocked down version.
Your videos are awesome 👍 keep it up.
Your work is impeccable, furiously different and unique on the Tube. How could we get in contact with you for other exposure and platforms?
I love your channel! Keep it up, I am looking for the next one. Keep them short and informative 15-18 min. It’s interesting and engaging
I can only imagine how advanced Bugatti would have been today had his sons live longer
Since they were at least 30 years ahead of the competition. I can only dream of what wonderful things they had built.
it takes only 1 cyclist and things went swoosh...
@@synchole i hear it was a mailman who illegally passed there despite being told not to many times
Definitely the car would’ve been more luxurious.
Bugatti today is owned by the Volkswagen Group. Bugatti today is one of the most expensive and luxurious cars made.
Wasn't the cyclist a mailman? The road he was on was the testing track owned by Bugatti. The mailman was disgruntled that this land was private, as it offered him a short cut. He had been caught on the track before and asked to leave. Eventually, the accident happened because of his insubordination. That is the way I heard it anyway
Damn that suck
This effing idiot changed the history. Only if jean Bugatti was alive, ettore hadn't have seen such a tragic end of his life and Bugatti too would have been on the level or even above ferrari in racing world. A effing mailman angry over covering some more distance caused such a big dent in the supercar world is insane to think of
seem like an interesting & well dug out fact & nothing in this world is more tragic than a death.
That mailman was a tool what grandpa said.
This is an epically sad story…that kinda grief never goes away
Despite wars, and all the nasty obstacles, including losing his son, and wife, that man kept pushing himself all the way, he was not a quitter at all, which is why today his vehicle is probably one of the most expensive automobiles that regular people cannot afford.
No, not really. The current Bugatti cars have zero connection to the older company. Now it is merely a brand name owned by WV. There is a very long dormant stretch between Ettore's cars and those made later.
@@Sean-wm1gn I agree, did Bugatti legacy all die out, that family was very autistic, and powerful with their genetics, such a legendary history, they should’ve kept producing more boys.
Bruh the story is similar to wangan Midnight
@@GamingWithBlitzThunder these legends die. And random people steal their legacy, it’s a damn shame, greed, and jealousy is a brutal part of life, there’s no escaping it.
@@Sean-wm1gn Their names do.

The Bugatti Chiron) Louis Chiron
The Bugatti Divo) Albert Divo

R.I.P to Mr Bugatti what a legend
Ironically I never knew too much about Buggati until I started playing Forza Horizon 4 & 5. Sadly, most of the brilliant innovators of our world are left literally penniless while others profit off their brilliance.
This was a great story of a man with a vision to go above the boundaries of automobile engineering! Bugatti created so many extraordinary cars during his lifetime (Type 41 is absolutely stunning!) Even with all the tragedies in his life, his company still lives on! Amazing! Thank You so much for this video I now have a deeper respect for the name BUGATTI🌟🌷🏁
Seeing all the Bugattis in the car museum of Mulhouse I thought that Bugatti must at some point have been a very widespread brand. But later I learned I was not and it was the Schlumpf brothers who secretly were the most enthusiastic Bugatti collectors of their time. In fact Bugatti never really got into mass productions, focusing on racing and luxury cars, so at any time in history they were a rarity.
So the Bugatti's were just like Koenigsegg and Pagani?
@@synchole A bit more, Bugatti type 44 was built in 1095 units 1927 to 1931 (with a great variety of custom-built bodies). Still a rarity compared to the mass-produced brands, even back then.
Modern day Bugattis are built in series of 500. Most Koenigsegg were produced in less than 100 but they want to produce 300 Gemera. Pagani seems to produce in series of 100.
He mass produced railway engines
@@caledonianrailway1233 88 power units of 6 types plus 5 trailers, that's more than the 33 fast diesel units in Germany at the time (which however were mostly longer). Not a terribly large series. Unfortunately only one unit is preserved.
@@uncinarynin for railways that’s still pretty good
VW sure have their way to revive supercar brands going bankrupt. Probably the most reliable company at this point, which is why their name translates to « THE PEOPLE’S CAR »👏🏾
Emissions moment
?
@@TheDomzilla13 at this point nobody cares about diesel-gate. Vw-audi-porshe is an amazing company producing a vehicle for every human on earth no matter what your taste or needs.
Yes hitlers dream company
@@Twiztidjuggalo42000 i live in europe where they are big, and their cars are high overpriced lol, €54k for a golf, no thanks, and they fill their cars with useless technology, no wonder in my country when toyota arrived kicked the vw polo and the golf outta the top 10 best selling cars, even if the group still alive Toyota in sales in my country the japanese brand makes better cars anyway.
Very sad story 💔💔💔😢.so the family lost everything even without recognition. God bless you for this video.
It’s really sad he had no one in the family to inherit everything and keep their legacy alive not to mention the death of his brilliant son who would have kept his father’s legacy alive
Strange how Mortality factors in to the continuity of Man's history, I wish the Bugatti family could see the result of their genius, EXTREMELY good video!!
bro, your videos are extremely good. I was watching something about spotify and got this recommended. I was doing something else and didnt look at the stats but you deserve at least a few tens of thousands of subs. good job bro
Thank you! Means a lot to me!
I love the history of this company! I always wondered what the story was. This video could easily have been an hour or so longer. This was a teaser really.
Brilliant to Hear about it, But I need to Discuss topics to you
It could have also contained FACTS
This is such a great and dramatic story. Can I respectfully offer some criticisms? There are so many jarring visuals and unrelated movie clips. You talked about WWI, while showing clips from WWII movies, while talking about cars from the 1920s, you show clips from Ford vs Ferrari, clips from Titanic, Wolf of Wall Street, and other completely unrelated sources. It was all very distracting.
Actually I want to Chat to you about something here.
Tf that shit dont even matter
couldn't agree more.
Awesome story I love the amount of research this must take , 1 critique though Chiron is pronounced Sheeron , it is after all one of the most amazing hypercars ever to be produced !
Mate, your editing skills are just.. woah. Amazing video. You've just earned another subscriber.
Mistakes and all, this was beautiful. I love how you mixed the emotions of such an old story with the expressions of modern day actors. That was a nice touch. I commend you and have no complaints.
This man's passion for cars has also given me great motivation to conquer my exams
What a story , I have a new respect for the man who went threw so much… Great show, it’s what social media is all about and I think Bugatti would’ve loved it… lol…Keep on rockin…. I
This is high quality video, why don’t you have a million subscribers?
I love these videos. They are so well done. Keep them coming pleaee. The quality here is 👌
Am actually fascinated that the channel has only 109k subscriber and yet the story telling is astonishing, 1 million subscribers performance.
what a great channel, I loved the way you presented the stories. It was engaging and fascinating keep it up man never stop
We all know and some of us love Bugatti because of EB 110 model and thanks to that particular car, Bugatti continued its way in supercars genre of automobile industry. Today's Bugatti's are remarkable but my favorite continues to be Bugatti EB 110!
I can only imagine how sad and tragically he lost his young son in a moment where he's so proud to see him keep his work and design and grow the company till the day and after he die !!! Now I know why so special the Bugatti Marque is. 🙌🏽

Hey man, love your videos. I love to see the story of the luxurious car brand “Maybach” since not many people have covered this company’s story.
Agreed!
It’s a Mercedes Brand who makes Maybach
Bugatti was tenacious. Poor guy saw much adversity. Happy and sad story all at once.
Wowwww, so much story and inspiration behind this brand. Thanks for sharing it with the world, this really encourages and motivates us to keep the dreams Alive and NEVER GIVE UP.

What is India? I’ve never heard of her
The veyron will always be BUGATTI to me. It was the car I grew up with being the fastest car in the world, but it was also a lot further in time compared to what we had back then. Veyron will always be the Bugatti for me.
Not to mention its design. The later models look horrible imo.
@@cashbonanza963 very elegant. The Chiron is too. The super sport as well. But divo, centodieci etc nah
The chiron, in my humble opinion, is the best car ever built. Luxury and raw power combined together perfectly. A car able to go 500 kmh while listening to music in diamond encrusted stereos, and heated seats
It isn't. It's a masterpiece in mechanics and engineering no doubt but as a car it's highly impractical.
@@MrEshah well yes obviously, but i mean as a petrolhead
Diamond encrusted stereo? Dayemmmmmmm

Great story! Great video!
At 8 years old i was building my own bikes from scratch and painting them sucks my family didn’t have money lol 😆
Bugatti never made one single penny of profit in its entire history , when the Veron was first sold for $1 million they cost $5 million to make !
And it was VW money too

Choosing unrelated footage where original are very hard expensive or impossible to obtain is understandable, still your small film induces emotions and that is what really matters. PS : Deutz ist pronounced Doitss

i really enjoy these stories.
your videos are amazing ...
Most pleasing it is to me to learn that Ettore's name and tradition LIVE-ON !!
Sometimes for some it is that, only partially are their stars aligned JUST-so.
Well, better mostly than not at all, as it was to prove for our dear Ettore.
Awesome video.....
That type 41 is still a sweet looking car.
Yes I have to Evaluate somethings to you, Its only about the video.
One of the HEROs.. Interesting 👍 💖
Completely missed the futuristic V tailed 100P air race airplane . You mentioned aircraft engines but you completely missed the airplane! The blue streak.
WOW! Very interesting!!😮🤔
I love the reaserch, and editing. Why is it when people do Amazing videos like this they always get the names wrong or mis pronounce them.I dont know why it bothers me..but it does...that is all!
For example Deutz

You should do a video over the oldest vehicles that made it through the years!
Beautiful history
The "once successful Royale"? He made 7 chassis and only sold 6 of them. Even at a million dollars each (approximately in today's money) hardly a success. In fact, the main reason he accepted the French government's offer to build the rail cars is so he could use up the engine blocks he had already cast for the Royale (each railcar used two Royale engines).
Thanks for the information, I wish I could of done a better job with the research and pronunciation, but I will do my best for future videos to be accurate. Hope you stick around to see.
@@BigCompanyYT - Your welcome. The research was fine, no mistakes that I saw, it just missed a few points.
As for pronunciation, I never comment on that since you are making an English-language video, and we don't say things the way the French and Italian's do. For instance, his son's name, "Jean" is pronounced like "John" with a softer "J" (more like "Shohn") in France. But this isn't a French video so "Jean" (like the girl's name) is fine with me.
Some of the railcars used four of the Royale engines
