Matt Berry sounding like he's announcing something comes in really handy for him, there's a radio station here in the UK called Absolute and their 80's channel just has him doing the announcements every few minutes, he's half the reason I listen to it.
the only reason I don't change the station...but the manager is 6'6 and massive...so that's also the reason :D

I think Jermaine does most of the writing for the series, but I might be wrong.

Graham only co-wrote the first series (with Dylan Moran) and hasn't even seen the later series.
I seem to remember him saying he wanted to react to Black books but there's so much smoking and drinking in it which CZcams doesn't like, so he would have to edit it so much just to get it posted and he didn't feel it would be worth it.

In Rome Total War 2 the voice you may be refering to is Mark Strong, whom you may know from the movie The Kingsman. He played the character Merlin. They do have similar voices though.

I mentioned "Only Fools and Horses" in another video and I'm mentioning it again, it's too good for them not to try, they'll struggle with some of the lingo but they'll get used to it

Black Books wasn't a Linehan show. I have no idea where this idea came from. He contributed as a supporting writer (among many) for series 1. That was it. Black Books was Dylan Morgan's project.

The guy who plays Douglas, Matt Berry, grew up a few miles up the road from me. He is a voice actor. Done alot of spongebob stuff among others. Not sure if he did total war but many agree the voice is the same.
King Boomer I am sure you are bombarded with requests for new shows to react to all the time, but one worth adding to the list is "The Mighty Boosh." I think the Queen and yourself would really appreciate the strange and surreal humour. For whatever reason I don't see many reactions to the show on youtube!

Matt Berry does do voice acting. Just google him and his voice acting work is listed there. Also, in his tv series, ‘toast of london’ he plays a not very good actor who does voice acting to fill in his lack of good acting roles. My favourite - the gay bees advertising campaign. Matt berry himself is legendary for his writing and one man shows plus stuff like ‘what we do in the shadows’ and ‘the mighty boush’. He didnt do Rome 2 - although he did do a spongebob movie and a star wars tv series. Matt berry replaced richard aoyade on the mighty boosh, which is a noel fielding tv series.
I often hear Matt on Absolute Radio.

Matt Berry (Reynholm) does do a ton of voice over work, but the voice you hear in Rome Total War that you think is him, is probably Brian Blessed, who has a similar baritone voice. Brian Blessed is well worth checking out and reacting to, by the way. A very unique man, with an unbelievable life.

Douglas is played by Matt Berry. a very famous comedy actor and singer. He probably does voice work as well but came to fame in a series called Garth Merenghi's Dark Place and also Toast of London. He's also got recognition for playing a vampire in the New Zealand series called What We Do in the Shadows which was a spinoff from the film of the same name. He's actually an amazing singer and headlines with many famous bands and musicians.

I think you are confusing Matt Berry with Brian Blessed, Matt Berry hasn’t done any voice work for the Rome: Total War series
Brian Blessed has a very distinctive voice, if you know the film Flash Gordon or even just the song by Queen, Brian Blessed is the one who says “Gordon is alive!”, he also voices Boss Nass, the leader of the Gungans of Otoh Gunga, the city beneath the surface of the Lake on Naboo that Ja Ja Binks is from in the Star Wars franchise, he also voices the grumpy rabbit in Peppa Pig, the British version at least, I don’t know if they use American voice actors in the US or not, he also gave me a massive rollocking when I was a kid and I nearly pissed my pants, that’s one person you don’t want shouting at you when you are just a kid 😂 his normal speaking voice could pass through lead let alone his shouting voice, he could shout here on earth and bob the Alien could here him on Mars

In one of his other hilarious sitcoms, Toast of London, most of the episodes begin with him sat in a recording studio recording a ridiculous voice-over. He also stars in the American vampire sitcom, What We do in the Shadows, in which he plays Lazlo - a vampiric version of Douglas Reynholm.

He's not in total war but he has done voice over work. He even plays a voice actor in "Toast of London". He's also in "what we do in the shadows".
As a few others have said I also recommend Garth Marenghi's Dark Place, you'll get both Matt Berry and Richard Ayoade in that show.

Matt Berry also stars in House Of Fools with Bob Mortimer and Vic Reeves. Well worth a watch. Matt is also a very talented multi instrumentalist and singer who's released several albums (check out his song "Solstice").

The guy who plays Douglas is Matt Berry and yes he is also a voice actor (you reacted to the Fathers Day short which he voices). I'm sure someone has previously commented to answer your question. But he is also in a show called "What we do in the shadows" about Vampires. You should definitely check that one out it's good. You might have to start with the film first though? Same as if you ever watch "This is England" start with the film...

No idea why my last comment got deleted, but it's 100% NOT Matt Berry (Douglas) in Rome 2. I can understand the confusion though as it is a similar sounding voice. I believe that it's possibly Chris Webster.
I believe Mark Strong did the voice for Rome: Total War.
But Matt Berry is also an experienced voice artists. He has a series called 'Toast of London' where many scenes are based off voice work he did.
I know it's been said several times already, but you soooo need to see 'Toast of London' with Matt Berry!
