Football guy at the bar was the garage owner when Will was doing work experience, it’s the episode where they threw him in the Lake.
Played one off the priests in The Last Kingdom I think too
"Which titties would you spunk over?"
@@mustychallinor9817 well at least he was not sterotyped 🤣
This ep is a very entertaining exaggeration of the path you can go down when you pretend to be a fan of something you aren't.
Was just about to say this 🤣
Football man was the bully mechanic from the Inbetweeners.
Contrary to his persona in this and in his tv appearances, Richard Ayoade was apparently a pretty gifted footballer in his youth. He talks briefly about it in a show called travel man, which is probably worth a reaction to in the future
In which ep of Travel Man does he say that? In the first ep he makes it clear that he has no interest in football.
@@DavidZ4-gg3dm it’s in the episode with Frank Skinner where they visit a football museum I believe
Noel fielding is a good footballer. I think you're getting the two mistaken. X
@@user-to7fm4mz5f I'm sure the OP is mistaken. It's clear from s1 e1 of TM that RA has zero interest in football. I'm baffled that 59 people think he's correct!
@@DavidZ4-gg3dm I’ve looked the clip up and CZcams to confirm. He embellished a lot for his story but it is defiantly Richard Ayoade talking to Frank Skinner at the FIFA museum
"a pony" in southern English slang means £25, so when Moss says "I've put a pony on Liverpool" he's placed a bet of £25 for the Liverpool team to win.
I wouldn't say it was just southern slang we have all watched minder e.g. a monkey being £500
@@chrisward8323 what's minder?
But no, I'm a northerner and I've never said pony or monkey in that context in my life
@@chrisward8323 minder was set in london...
Q - Shetland?
A - No, it's true!
Perfect timing, just sat down with a beer after working out in the pissing rain all day.
😂same here bro🎉
UK im guessing?
God the rain is insane in the South right now.
Looked out nt window and legit flooding/road river appeared within a few hours.
Same here , weather shocking in the south west
@joda6466 yes mate, been out in it all bloody week.
Once you both finish The IT Crowd, you must watch Black Books; it’s by the same writer Graham Linehan and it has the same madcap humour.
This👈. It's hilarious and just as bizarre and quirky as you'd expect a Graham Linehan written show. Dylan Moran, Bill Bailey and Tamsin Greig (Jackie from Friday night dinner) are all in it😂😂
Always loved how straight the robbers played their roles. Made everything extra funny!
Changing the accent like that is called code switching, so you mirror different class accents rather than regional ones
I’ve seen it happen with people who are bilingual. My friend speaks normal English with me but when he’s talking with his Ukrainian wife, his accent completely changes.
Yup. And code switching can also be about class, sexuality, gender or nationality.
Switching between accents or languages in a single conversation or situation is code switching.
The act of mirroring someone else's accent or speech patterns is echolalia.
So yeah what moss did is code switching, but what they talked about is echolalia. People often confuse the two.
Another example is the late Vivian Stanshall, he of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. When he was growing up, he had to speak posh at home, or his dad would beat the shit out of him. And he had to speak Cockney at school, or his classmates would beat the shit out of him.
As an Aussie that's lived in the US for 6 years now you get used to driving on the 'wrong' side very quickly - just follow everyone else! But I still have occasional dreams where I'm on the wrong side of the road and about to get cleaned up.
i've done the whole 'fit in with other people' thing. in year 7 (12-13 years old) all my friends started smoking, all they wanted to do was go out behind the science block and smoke, I hung around for a bit, bored out of my brain because all they wanted to talk about was smoking and I was not at all interested in smoking. they started talking about trying to get some pot, that's when I decided to make my exit and make friends with the people who are now my best mates some 20 years later. I went from hanging around, trying to fit in with smokers to hanging around with 'nerds', which I am now one of and have been for 20 years.
while all my old mates have gone massively down hill. 1 overdosed, a couple of others are on meth and one that has recently became clean contacted me and apologised for not listening to me when I told him (at 13) that this really wasn't a good path to be going down.
You should watch the episode of Travel Man where Chris O Dowd was the guest. Richard Ayoade is the presenter.
You'd be surprised how easy it is to drive on the opposite side of the road. People in the UK often take their cars over to Europe and drive on the right in their vehicles which are designed to drive on the left. Even then, it's really not a problem. If you came to the UK and hired a car you'd get used to it within half an hour of driving.
Only issue is having to pay at toll booths through the passenger window!
Yeah I find it very easy to adapt, their biggest issue would likely be the change in size of the roads!
There really are people that talk like that, not just in gangster films
I talk like that unfortunately. East london dialect.
@@djwalker7823 did you see that ludicrous display last night?
"they do that a lot in gangster films...." oh boy, the ep has only started lol, nice catch
Moss has mastered the art of code switching.
"I"m weird! Weirds all I've got! That and my sweet style!"
The tiny "Who closed the door?"was the perfect brick joke at the end.
Moss was drinking a glass of milk in the pub, which comes-up again in season 4's episode The Final Countdown (and if you're familiar with the John Carpenter film 'They Live' you'll immediately get the joke)
Looking like a magician is better than having the name Peter File !
Who's a paedophile?
I legit love the light hearted banter between yourselves, it's such a good sign of a healthy relationship. Mind you, as someone dead inside it makes me sick to the stomach. 🤣🤣🤣
Thank goodness for that post credit scene. I'd been trying to work out who closed the doors ever since it happened.
This episode is what would have happened if Guy Ritchie had directed Green Street
We love Queen Boomers reactions to the IT Crowd, you can't possibly do one without her 🙂👍
OMG with that Mr. Peanutt remark she wins the internet today for me! 🤣😂 👍👍
22:34 even most people from the UK struggle driving in the countryside. You have to reverse back through country roads when you meet a vehicle coming the other way
I'm always praying that I will see a passing place.
@@jackdubz4247 it's even worse when people go down on holiday in a range rover, and won't even use a passing space 😪
I know the place where the robbery was filmed. Lower Addiscombe Road in Croydon, Surrey. Just south of London. I grew up in that area. It was cool to see it on my all-time favourite show.
A. "We are Devo!"
Lol! I'm late watching this. the title triggered me to listen to Devo. Spent ten minutes looking for my energy dome hat.
@@gid4015, "you can whip it!" 😁
This is one of my favourite episodes 😁
Hey King, couldn't find the discord but just wanted to say I love your reactions and just subbed to the patreon, enjoying all the movies etc and you honestly just make my day, you and Queen B. Taking our British culture, comedy and all sorts in such a positive way, just being real and genuine AF, You guys are the best muppets i know (and I know a lot of actual muppets aha). Big love to you and your family man
You guys are easily the most likeable, relatable and gorgeous couple on CZcams.
I discovered your channel recently and you quickly became one of my favourites.
Keep up the good work. Adooore your IT Crowd reactions ❤
You are too kind
Keep in mind if you are driving in Ireland or the UK the car will also have you sitting on the other side, it's a good reminder that you are supposed to be on the other side 😁👍 It actually wont feel right to drive on the "wrong" side of the road. I think you'll find it easier than you expect. It's probably the fact that the road sign standard (identical across Europe) is different to home that takes more getting used to 😁
If you're nervous about driving in a UK city, DO NOT try driving on UK country roads. They are far more dangerous, very narrow and surrounded by hedges that will tank a car going 90mph and not lose a pebble over it. Honestly down here in Cornwall if you see a car with it's entire front end destroyed you simply ask "hedge?" and 99% of the time you'll be told yes. Edit: Sorry Queen Boomer Kings right on this one, no man really cares about a pumpkin patch. If we go it's to keep the peace but we do not like or respect the pictures taken.
100% correct with the country roads thing, they're fun as hell if you're familiar with them but if you're used to wide lanes on straight roads AND you're adapting to changing which side of the road you're driving on then you'll end up either crashing, shitting yourself or driving 30mph to be safe but have some muppet in a BMW or 4x4 up your arse (or some interesting combo of all 3).
The Arsenal walking it in line works. Used it a few times, though once the group I was with had to double take after agreeing because they suddenly remembered a second later 'you don't follow football.'
IT Crowd 👋Football is our national sport and obsession. There are no stereotypical fans, it's a worldwide phenomenon, from very little kids to women, to older fans to Ultras. It's a very wide range.
It's certainly the most popular sport in the UK & world, but there are also millions of Brits who have little or no interest in it, including many who aren't into sport at all.
There are stereotypical fans. It's macho and aggressive, which is why some people hate it.
Unfortunately there are stereotypical fans. They’ll be the ones who stagger up my street in droves pissing in strangers’ doorways and yelling sectarian chants
Debbie McGee was in reference to a famous British magician called Paul Daniels. Debbie was married to Paul and she was his assistant at his shows. As Roy said Jen's boyfriend looked like a magician, he called her Debbie for a joke.
I liked that joke. Not a lot, but I liked it
I used to live with two Scottish friends for about 4 years and I would just imitate them all the time until eventually I would start saying the odd word in their accent, but only to them. Its come in handy as a party trick now when I can just throw out a half decent Scottish accent instead of my native English one!
Mate if driving on the left makes you queasy then British country roads are not where you should to aim to familiarise yourself with the system lol. Many are high speed, narrow and pretty bendy with undulations and grit patches. Also just a fun bit of trivia, the reason we drive on the left stems from Medieval times where most people would have had the advantage of defending themselves with their dominant (right) hand if they were ever attacked on horseback on the road. The attackers would need toc ome up on the victims' right, and use their left hand to attack/defend, and the left hand for most people is the off-hand.
The driving thing only takes an hour or so before you adjust to the mirror image.
Country driving can be pretty wild in some parts. Roads that are miles long and one (small) lane wide. A lot of reversing...and sometimes people come around the corners waaay too fast.
That aint over the top, thats genuinely what you will hear down the pub when there's a match on.
One of my fave episodes this one!
The trick with getting used to driving on the 'wrong' side is to follow the car in front. That's easier to do in cities than country funnily enough.
Country roads can be a nightmare. They're usually national speed limit and locals use them as a rat run and know them inside out, those that are not used to them understandably are more cautious and get treated like second class citizens.
I've never laughed so much at a scene in IT crowd when cops arrive and Moss goes to snog the face off Roy.. 🤣
Country roads in the UK are a lot more dangerous that city roads.
I feel like the question isn't why they have so much fun on the pumpkin patches, but why they ALWAYS have to try and rope you into it because they seem to think that you're too stupid to decide by yourself and without their input, what you do and don't like?? 😂
Arsenal do always try and walk it in.
What were they thinking, bringing Walcott on at half time?
I use to sell merch for Arsenal on match days. As an American girl with no knowledge or interest in sports, I made SOOOO much money… cause I got to keep amount I got them to pay over our listed price, and drunk British men are easy to rip off if you flirt with them a bit. I would feel guilty about that, but I was super broke at the time. A £5 mark up on a scarf seemed like a mild con.
I love that just as a guy appears looking like a magician you two demonstrate the power of suggestion!
The criminal guy is also in the inbetweeners episode Work experience, he's the guy in the garage who bullies will.
Language; when the police office calls'P- -f out to Roy and Moss you both refer to the American equivalent fa- - - -. In England fa- - - - means a Yorkshire food dish and wood kindling.
They're just normal men.
They're just innocent men!
As a Brit - i’m guessing the Pumpkin Patch is a farmer selling pumpkins at Halloween? So its going to a field to buy a pumpkin … i feel your pain King Boomer
Oh it’s way more than that to some people here lol.
I love the implication in this episode being that there’s a chance at least one of the men they had a football chat with, probably Harry, was also getting tips from the website - just in reverse
Heh, I don't think I'll ever _not_ get confused at least a little bit by people calling slightly bigger cars "trucks"... I drive a truck, 5 axles, 40-44t, 4m height, 18m long, ... 😋
the thing with people changing their accents depending on the people they interact with, i think that is a common trait on the spectrum
David Mitchell is right about football being on all the time, this week it has been on every night and it's on for the last 2 nights of the week
Watch it watch it, it's going to move!
Been waiting for this one, popcorn at the ready
The pumpkin patch photo thing has started taking off over here in the last few years. I think the townies get excited about being a country person for 30 minutes and want to share it with all on social media😅
Really? First I've heard of it!
It’s called mirroring. People who mirror a lot are usually very empathetic. When men and women are attracted to each other they mirror each other.
The cockney guy who Roy starts talking to in the bar while he is watching the match on the TV, is the mechanic from the Inbetweeners, when Will has his work experience I think...
that babies first words is gonna be interesting .... reminds me of meet the fockers movie
Countryside roads are very narrow over here, I know Americans often struggle with our narrow roads
London born, in East Ham, I now live in a small Worcestershire village.
My children always knew when I'd been to the 'Smoke' (London) on business because I came back "speaking a bit geezer".
Im from brentford. Been in australia most of my life. My mum and dad went back once and my dad rang me half-pissed from the local (the Red Lion, if its still there). I initially couldn’t figure out who it was because he’d reverted to Full Geezer.
great episode, great reaction!
They're havin' a laugh 😂
When QB said “ what would you do for me to show how much you love me “.. I was shouting at the screen “ NOOOOOoooo it’s a trap King Boomer … 😆 “.
👍🏴
When they call Jen “Debbie McGee” it a nod to a famous assistant who married the magician she worked with.
LOVE getting home after driving for 9 hours and finding a new boomer it crowd reaction, perfect way to relieve the tension. Do 24 hour party people film! or just watch it u'll love it!
Glad you waited for QB to show the IT Crowd I love it too good episode utterly bonkers ❤
I hope I wasn't the only person who was reminded, by the intro banter, of the song "Man or Muppet"...
To clarify - there are quite a number of us in the UK that really hate football, including myself! Mostly because of the rubbish fans who use it as an excuse to get drunk, fight, trash places and cause vandalism etc. We know it isn't every fan, but the sort that take it too far tend to be sexist, racist and generally hateful people and many of us are fed up of being harassed by them on public transport or in pubs
Moss and The Dude from the Big Lebowski are the only fictional White Russian aficionados I'm aware of.
You will be grand driving, people go to Europe from here and drive all the time and we get a lot of US tourists who drive.
It's the width of most roads that causes them to crash.
I haven't watched this show for the past 10 years. The thing is while I was watching this video I kept thinking "this guys NEED to watch the episode where Moss does the kissing as a distraction" only to realise, when that scene started it was actually THIS episode LOL
I have been waiting for this one.
Adam hills tells a fab joke, in front of crowd finds a young bloke and tells him “you grew up on the Kardashians on television and we grew up on the muppets. And the difference is the Muppets are bloody real❤”thanks
These are well worth waiting for, dont worry if its later than usual!
Just have to say really enjoy your reaction videos I first discovered your channel via Father Ted. The Christmas Special was a riot, really couldn't stop laughing.
Others may have mentioned Black Books, strongly recommend it, same writer Graham Linehan.
Red Dwarf is another good one.
Hope you do more Little Britain reactions too. It's all good though, just enjoying the ride.
There's a name for it, it's called "context switching". Lots of people do it to fit into work places when they feel their genuine self isn't accepted.
Brit here who drives in Europe every summer. You would be surprised how quick you would get used to being on the "wrong" side. It really is no problem
there is a pumpkin farm near me that does Halloween events, thats about all ive seen of pumpkin anything event and its natural for the season because pumpkin carving
I London area a pony means £25.
A score is £20.
When was the last time QB watched a magic show? Magicians haven't worn top hats in decades lol. You guys should watch Fool Us and you'll see what I mean
I can understand people not liking football over here, it is on all the time, every night just about for 9/10 month of the year. Liverpool since this was made thankfully are great again, so I can watch it once more!
The robbery and the drive up into the back of the truck to hide allways reminds me of a sceene from the 1973 America comedy movie 'The Hot Rock.'
Richard Ayoade's Jason Statham impression is great you should check that out.
As someone who loves Halloween and festive stuff in my community, I like pumpkin patches. I think a lot of fall tropes have been co-opted by girls on social media, like pumpkin spice, apple picking, even haunted houses to an extent. But really, life can get so monotonous that I enjoy the various seasonal traditions, even if they are considered basic now.
aw his little face! Make me so sad! 33:02
This is my all time favourite episode of this show
You must watch black adder, but start from season 2
Queen Boomer is correct about the accent thing. My wife is Australian and I'm Scottish and we have both picked up each other's words/accents. Just being around each other all the time, similar to work colleagues, you pick up on and mimic each other.
I missed her, too! She is the funny one.
And speaking of pumpkin patches, there's one east of Edinburgh where you can pay to fire them into a target range out of the farmer's home-made howitzer
22:34 Here in Australia, where we also drive on the right (i.e. the correct) side of the road, your driving makes _us_ queasy. 🤢
I bet you guys will have a blast with episode 4
This is one of my favourite episodes
Next episode is a banger, some really great episodes coming up.
A Pony is cockney rhyming slang for £25. And he was drinking milk in the pub, not frothy beer
We should start a fund-raiser - A massive patch - the biggest in USA, call it "King Boomers Pumped Up Pumpkins"
I don't think 'puff' is on the same level as that f word in the US. I think the US used to use 'fruit' as pretty tame slang for it, it's closer to that level of severity.
Gotta look into doing toast of London reactions. Seeing as you're loving matt Berry so much 😂
greatest episode mate
I’m so behind you with the pumpkin patch bollocks. It’s spread to the UK too.
