    You gave a great view of the process. I have that problem with my 8n. I lifted a tandem 19:50 disk and after that it does not. want to pick up my two bottom plow, or anything with weight. I really appreciated yo knowledge on this, thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge! Dave

      It sounds like you may have sprang a hydraulic leak inside the tractor. I'd pull the cover off where the dip stick goes and look inside while it's running to see if you have any fluid spraying. The lift cover gasket blows out some of the time around the fluid passage.

    Would be awesome to run an external pump to the draft control and do away with the pto driven pump. Would be live three point then.

    Did you ever get this dialed in? I noticed the bushing for your lift arm also looks shot as it had some slop.

    • @xpsgarage
      @xpsgarage  Před 2 měsíci

      Not yet. It's close enough that I haven't wanted to take it apart again just because it doesn't drop quite all the way down. If I need it to lower that last few inches I just flip it over to draft mode. I'll get back to it eventually.

    I'm back with more questions! The "Jig" you mentioned. I was not able to understand the name you said. What is the name of the Jig supplier? Do you happen to know if there is a Jig for the Jubilee (even though it does not have that long arm you straightened)? Thanks so much. I do have the manual now thanks to you!

    Arms go up but don't come down on ours. Any suggestions on what the issue may be?

    • @xpsgarage
      @xpsgarage  Před 10 měsíci +1

      First thing I would do is remove the inspection cover where the dipstick is at. Next move your quadrant control up and down to see if the control rod in the tractor moves properly. If that checks out then the exhaust valve in the pump that releases the fluid is probably plugged up. If that's the issue you may need to drop the pump and do some cleaning.

    I have a Jubilee (NAA). Where did you get all your specs for spring length, off set of lift lever, ......... What manual do I need to purchase so I can have those specs for my model?

    • @xpsgarage
      @xpsgarage  Před měsícem +2

      I used an I&T shop manual that I picked up at my local Tractor Supply Company. I&T also makes a manual for the Jubilee so if you have a TSC store near you they should have one. www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/i-t-shop-manuals-ford-shop-manual-fo19-48-pages

    • @xpsgarage
      @xpsgarage  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Not really. In the 40 some years my dad had the tractor, It never worked right. Someone may have had it apart before and tried to do some adjustments or just wasn't careful with it..

    I have a 1949 8n and the hydraulics will only come up half way. I am pulling the top cover once the weather warms up.

  • @TedBaylard-wn2qh
    @TedBaylard-wn2qh Před 5 měsíci +1

    I have a 1952 8n and I have an old 5ft rotary mower. Should I have the little lever up or. down to mow uneven areas?

    • @xpsgarage
      @xpsgarage  Před 4 měsíci +1

      You would need to have the lever up in the position mode and just set it at the height you want. I assume the mower has a wheel on the back that will help it ride over the bumps. The hydraulics on the 8N will let the mower move up as needed but only come back down to position you have it set at. If you tried it with the lever down in draft mode then it would just drop the mower to the ground and only try to raise it if you snagged it on something.

    • @xpsgarage
      @xpsgarage  Před 2 měsíci

      Sounds like something might be bent. Like I mentioned in my other response get an I&T service manual so you can dig in and find the problem.

    I really like watching DYIers, l’ve learned a lot from them. You did a great job on the video, but… you do realize that the “bent” control arm is factory bent and should not be straightened.

    • @xpsgarage
      @xpsgarage  Před 11 měsíci

      The problem was that with the amount of bend it had it wouldn't work right. I watched several other videos and the control rods on them looked straight so I tried that, but that was too much. About half as much bend as it had works properly.
