  • @celticasmr
    @celticasmr Před 4 měsíci +75

    There are actually a lot of nice Celtic elements in the song and performance. Their dress is a dark version of an Irish dancing dress and the symbols on the backing dancers and the walls is ancient Irish writing called Ogham. As for the song itself, the more screeching part of the vocals seems inspired by traditional Irish keening music which is the style used by the Cranberries in the song Zombie.

    • @celticasmr
      @celticasmr Před 4 měsíci +9

      And of course their style is very pagan core which is also a big part of ancient Irish culture!

    • @celticasmr
      @celticasmr Před 4 měsíci +10

      The Irish dancing inspired dress is also a nice touch because Irelands most famous time hosting the Eurovision was in the 90s when the River Dance premiered live and became one of the most famous dancing groups in the world.

    It's genius, artistically brilliant. I loved the fact that you didn't know what was going to happen next. They call the music genre ouja pop. There are so many layers to it - the meaning, if you look at some of the actual lyrics. On one level, you'd think they were casting a spell but there is so much more to it. Those blue parts, I took to be about a toxic relationship, heartbreak, the deceit/betrayal and the anguish. The first line in the chorus is 'I, I, I know you're living a lie', someone hiding behind a facade. Those softer moments are quite melancholy, that their love is unreturned and their lover would prefer a star rather than the moon. Then you have the bridge where they use red lights. Red is for love, romance, passion. There is an outpouring of emotion, that they would do absolutely anything for romance even though it is emotionally draining but to their lover, their feelings are just another shade of blue - ignored. To me the screaming at the end is the intense pain they are feeling. This is just my interpretation.

      Metal is a genre and screaming is a learned technique that takes mad crazy skills. A lot of people sing like this every night at their gigs - if you warm up and have the technique you are safe...they sang it perfectly and transitioned to 2/ 3 genres and styles of singing. The songwriting chops on this song is so intelligent 👌

    Just wondering, is 'going off' a new slang phrase or has it always been part of northern vernacular?

    Whatever happens, it’s good to have variety in the content and this definitely brings something different that will get people talking. After all, Ireland has not succeeded in recent years with safe songs so why not this. 🇮🇪

A masterpiece with Avada Kadavra from Harry Potter. Love from Denmark ❤❤❤ Yes Doomsday in all World coming and Away from the děpştatə and ego death inside out ourselves and more high frequensies to light and love

    As an Irish man, I’m totally biased and would love Ireland to win again. We have the all time record for the most wins at 7, but Sweden is at 6 and is on a very successful trend currently, while Ireland hasn’t won in about 25 yeass

    Last year, Ireland didn't take a risk. The last 20 years has seen very few risks from Ireland and so when people were chanting 'Bambie, Bambie!' at the end and the in studio panel actually got the memo with a Eurovision crowd at home, you can tell the right buttons were pressed for the first time in forever. This is what Ireland needs to take a risk and Bambie is the person to do it. They have great vocals, dancing, stage presence and lighting with great staging concepts that can obviously be expanded at Eurovision. My winner! I've never been prouder to be half Irish! It's time to send something not generic!

    I absolutely LOVE your first reaction to this. It's exactly as my first impression was.... But after listening to it more, I am LOVING it.... It's totally out there and is complete theatre... After learning the lyrics, which are absolutely brilliant I love it even more. Just a point where you thought there wasn't any Celtic vibes... All the backround script is actually ancient Irish script.... Also a nod to Hallow'een which of course Hallow'een originated in Ireland as Samhain.... I found a channel yesterday that I think explains so well about the meaning of this song... Have a look... I think Ireland deserves credit for breaking out of the box. Bambi Thug has I think, I love that they have got us talking... Love or hate the entry , it's not another Boyband! lol. czcams.com/video/Amrt_4hs61A/video.html

    I agree with you on final part, I think she should put screaming in the backing track and sing "blue, blue, blue...", for the sake of her voice at least. I liked that witchy laughing tho.

    Also aong is about feeling under appreciated in relationships and in society and her frustration and sadness about it. I always loved anything spooky, magical, different. As z 42 year old my fave film as a teenager was the craft, charmed, i love harry potter, i love ghost podcasts... Love the theatre of it. Givd it another go. Also, my favourite bands of all time are take that and steps🤣🤣 and i love this.

    There is a ton of Irish Celtic representation in this, don't forget Ireland birthed Halloween, the first Irish alphabet is shown on the screen behind them, dark Irish dance dress, this is so awesome and beautiful, it's art and a performance, they didn't want one genre, no boxes, this is so brave and I LOVE it.

    Keep listening to it and it WILL get under your skin in the end. At first, I thought what the Hell was that! Twenty views later, I'm a total fan of it. It's sure entertainment and the way Bambie performs the song just adds the right combination of weird and wonderful. The song needs to stand out from all the other songs in Eurovision. Therefore, objective ACHIEVED! It's an original song, so the creator of it is always going to be right in the way they present it. GOOD LUCK, BAMBIE THUG!🍀☀️🎼🏆🎖️

    This is on my top 5 with the video clip, this live performance has to improve a lot (Even because on that stage she couldn't do much). But I think it will because It is a bigger stage in Sweden and the video clip shows that she have a lot of great ideas.

    I love Bambie as an artist. They are definitely unique! However for me this song feels like the longest three minutes of my life 😂 the switching between the genres of metal and soft pop makes it feel like the song lacks cohesion. But I definitely want this in the final! And if they can throw some money at this performance it could be fire in Malmo 🔥
    If you have a chance I recommend listening to their song titled Tsunami (11:11) because in my personal opinion it’s a great representation of what Bambi could bring!
    Loved the video ❤
