This video is proof that filming something makes me use lots of "um"s. :P - Jak na to + styl
I make crystal bead healing and diffusing bracelets. My husband is a very accomplished guitarist and guitar technician. Seeing your tutorials is a major score for me! Thanks!
Thanks so much, SheaLynn! I had some ideas in my head, and was going to actually use crimp beads to keep my crystal beads in place, but I like your idea so much better! Plus, I'm going to use some wire to keep the end ball end of the strings in tact!
This was very helpful and I’m glad I found the tutorial. I got some strings from a local music store and made the repair person a bracelet for his kindness.
Yes! I'm actually waiting for one to upload right now. :) And I have plans for other tutorials-- hopefully during Christmas holidays I can do some filming!
I made one and it was easy thanks to your tutorial!!! Thank you! It’s a gift for my daughters guitar teacher.
omgsh how awesome great video thx for sharing a new way to look at old guitar strings!!!!!!
Probably one of the best tutorials i have watched o you tube!!
my son and I had so much fun making these!.. thank you!!!
So cool! I couldnt figure out how to make one because of how stiff they are glad i found this! Next time i change strings i will definitely be making one!
Way cool video. Thanks sooo much. I knew I was saving my old strings for some reason. Making some for my daughter right now. You ROCK !
I also found that you can squeeze the end of the string together and give them a twist to hold them together.
What a great tutorial! You explained it beautifully! New subbie! 💕
Thank you sharing, very well-done video tutorial! Love your ideas!
This is an amazing tutorial!!!! Also there's a tool that would help you with cutting the strings. It's cLle a pro winder/ string cutter. It cuts the strings very easily
Nice job! Pleasant voice 👏
Very thorough tutorial!!! Thank you for sharing
Thank you for showing me what I needed. I had half of mind how it started but I didnt know I needed some type of wire so I guess I can make a bracelet or two out of the last pair of strings my uncle had got me before he died which still are on my acoustic and still sound great to this day but my brother said yur strings cant tune anymore because there so old so I guess its time to end them.
this is an awesome idea! its funny hearing some one talk about guitar strings and not know anything about them though hahaha, no hard feelings. thanks for the tutorial :)
Thank you!!!!!! I am so excited to try this!!!!!!
Cool video. I'm a guitar/bass player, gonna have to try this. Just an FYI brands like DR and Aurora make colored strings.
really cool. I'm gonna have to find my old broken guitar strings. I kept em cause I thought they would be useful. turns out they are! thank you
Thanks so much for sharing this with us!
Thank you so much for making this tutorial! I'm surely going to make these!:)
great tutorial.... very creative
you could use the bead you cut off at start. some strings like Daddario have colored beads..i made my grand kids ear rings with my old strings..
Very interesting! Thank you so much for sharing this!
I don't think so-- you can get the wire I used to wrap the ends of the guitar string in lots of colors, but I don't know how one would go about coloring guitar string. Maybe if you had tools for enameling?
Great tutorial , thanks for sharing
thanks this helped a lot but are there any way you can color wire
When making a bracelet with many strings, do you start the bracelet with all of them? Or do you add them one by one?
they do sell coloured guitar strings at some music stores
very helpful! this is a cool gift idea for a friend! very excited to make this! :)
What tools do you need? The string, wire and two pliers?
please make more videos I love this one !
what's a good place to get beads like that? I am going to make one of these for my girlfriend from my guitar strings and want to decorate it with little beads like that but have no idea where to start looking for them at
Yes be careful with the guitar string ends. I've cut my arms many times when a string snaps while playing
Ooof, sorry to hear that! Yes everyone be careful!
Yeah me too!!
Love it ! Thanks ! Next time I change my strings I'll make bracelet :)
I love your tutorial. I am a guitarist and have guitar strings laying around my room but could never figure out how to make a bracelet. Would 26 gauge copper wire work or does it have to be 20-24? Just asking cuz the colors I like only come in 26.
Emily Patrick 26 gauge wire would be more difficult to use, simply because it's more easy to unwind and to compensate for that you'd have to use quite a lot of tension when wrapping it. Try it and see, though! I've made bracelets with two colors of wire in the past, twisting 24 and 26 gauge wire together because that's what I had on hand.
amazing video!! thank you so much!!
Thanks! Very well explained!
I add one by one. I've actually had a lot of people email me this question so I've made another video. :)
Hi, what size wire do you use to wrap?
Aw, glad you like them. :D
Can you wear the guitar Floyd Rose too?
Can u please make a video for the rings? PLEASE!!!
This is really cute, thank you for this
Thank you so much!
i love this video
This is cool
A lot of guitar strings contain Nickel and there are people with Nickel allergies, so if you are one of those people, use Cobalt strings.
This is great! I saw this same bracelet on a website for $30 bucks and I refuse. LOL Where can I buy guitar strings?
What gauge strings are these?
Awesome! Thanks for sharing :)
hey, i made one using bass guitar strings. thanks for your vid. :)
How do you make the wrapping wire stay in place and not "unwrap" after some time (if you know what I mean)? I find it difficult to finish off these type of bracelets. :)
Anyways, a very nice collection of string jewellery. I'll pop in to your blog and your shop for more inspiration. :) Thanks!
greenchocaholic The key is a LOT of tension while you wrap the wire, and then using a flat-nose plier to pinch and flatten the ends. And thanks for checking out the blog! :)
make a tutorial for the other ones!
I have 4 guitars and a pack an incomplete pack of strings that I use as spares. I need to replace my strings soon and I know what to do with them now haha
I like the brassish strings best.
you can use Elixir nanoweb strings which is not rusting. loved your video btw Shaylynn Ann now i know what to do in my used strings. =)
Mike Anlap I'll look into that!
If you sell these, you could ask the music store if they have any empty guitar string envelopes. They are normally square and I know Ernie ball is a brand that uses them.
just about any brand uses them
i use d'addario acoustic strings and they don't so i was just saying which brand i know has them.
Tristan Popowski when you buy individual strings they should all come with them
I’m having way too much fun with my leftover bass strings
LOVE
most of electric guitar strings are made out of nickel. I'm a guitar player and i have an allergy with nickel.even if you use steel strings the coat wears off and your exposed to nickel.I hope there is hypoallergenic strings just like you said.
Very helpful thanks! :)
oh no just to think I've been throwing my guitar strings out for years....great idea chick
so thank you I plan to get my mom into this and maybe she will make money off of this since she does stuff like this.
Do you ever notice the strings getting rusty?
Allyson Ficek Nope, not in my experience!
Where exactly can I find strings for free??
+Emmanuel Nieves Rivera I just asked local music shops/music teachers. Some gave them for free some asked $5-10
My old strings wont get trashed anymore thanks.
making this for my gf rn
I play guitar...when I saw the tittle I was interested cause I have a lot of discarded strings all wrapped around....but I have to say....that's exactly how this things look like.....wrapped around discarded strings...I could wear what I have now and it would look the same...disappointing!
To each their own! Some people like the added colors and beads!
this didn't help AT ALL
Focus so terrible can't watch, eyes are watering
Diane Greene , cause it’s 8 years ago 😂😂🤣
