Saudi Arabia is well known across the world for its wealth, strict faith, and oppression, but while Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman has decreed that he wants to reform, the world is shocked by the murder of journalist Khashoggi and other human rights violations. We follow the developments from the inside, through the eyes of the inhabitants themselves. Are they just empty promises or is Saudi Arabia actually able to change?

Many different religions have traditions of covering their heads that began because they were concerned about being seen as beautiful to evil angels. Read the Book of Enoch to understand the beginning of the tradition.
The opposite is the truth, preventing us woman to live Islam like in the time of the Profet salAllahu alayhi ua sal-lam is opression and against our right. It's our right to live the authentic Islam, and only anamies of the truth call the authentic Islam strict Islam.
Wants reforms 🥴
What made that murder "unbelievably brutal" compared to any other murder on the planet?

My sister was a nurse in Riyadh for 7 years. She really enjoyed her time working and living in Saudi Arabia. She didn't want to leave but at the time foreign housing complexes were being targeted and bombed and it became to dangerous to live where she did. While in Saudi Arabia she developed double breast cancer and she said she received the best medical care and new treatment. Years after she moved back home though her cancer came back and she passed away in 2016. I have many items she sent back home to me from Saudi Arabia and I treasure them.
White expats are rather protected in SA. And restrictions and "democracy" in SA have gotten a lot worse since your sister left. I'm really sorry for your loss.
I worked there also its so amazing and the quality of life socially is so much more than Stone Age UK.

To become liberal and be poster girls and start their pornographic industry that the west promotes.. What are you talking about?

The fact that this documentary was made and published, shows how saudi arabia has changed
Yes but woman are still enslaved by men. Wherever there is a good king, there's always been a better queen who stands with him. This is a fact thru out history. We see this..
I worked in Saudi Arabia for 4 years as a Nurse, Those people of this country are very kind and very respectful. Saudi Arabia is a very beautiful country they deserve all the best.
When I applied to teach in Saudi Arabia, it wasn't only the generous salary and benefits that attracted me, but also the opportunity to experience Saudi people and culture in real time - feet on the ground. I did not believe that all Saudis hated everyone whose religion and ways were different from their own. The warmth and generosity of the Saudi people touched my heart profoundly, and I will always cherish the time I spent there.

In any country you go, you can get along well with anyone being apolitical and religious blind. Talk about food and everything complimentary to the hosting nation. You will be treated as VIP. You do not have to live there forever.
its a rich vs poor thing but nice try
Why dont they teach their own women to be stronger and teach rather than bring someone in from the outside and offer them these wonderful things did that ever slap you in the face that it is a slap to their own enslaved women that you did something that they themselves should receive??? I wouldnt be so ready to praise the country for what the men are doing over all.

I visited the KSA last year alone as a woman. It was an amazing experience to meet people, talk to them and get a feeling from the ground. Bless us for Google Translate! I was treated to coffee and a snack by strangers who were just happy to see a foreigner (and believe me, I was on my own exploring). My friends (here) were sceptical and colleagues even warned that I should "be careful". It has been one of the safest experiences and there is so much more to explore. Things are changing - step by step, and my journey gave me hope that humans one day really come together in Peace and dialogue. I cannot believe how far we have come already.
I made friends and hope to return this year. The KSA has a lot to offer. Of course, there is still room to improve but which country doesn't? Love to the KSA from Europe 🥰
Your welcome any time to my country

“Rome wasn’t built in a day”, i hope next time you come to ksa you would see further changes, it is going for the better

the sun & moon shine light on the brainwashing Islamic (CULT)! Arabia is nothing without USA!!! Trump-2024
this is a BS documentary they guy put his own narrative to lead the views rather than genuinely explore the live their, typical western narrative complex.
Indeed.

Thank you for sharing your work with us all.
Such an indepth documentary. Loved seeing the core of the people from all walks of life from within the country. The quality, length and details, boldness of interviewer, and personal touch from seeing him go through Mecca and Medina..
I think one of the women there raised a great highlight of appreciating and being excited for seeing the country grow, develop, transitions. Outsiders are often quick to criticise how great or well it is doing, but its also important to recognize and appreciate how far its progressed. There will always be rooms for improvement everywhere, but not diminishing the progression and growth from how far its come is important.
I think its more fair to judge it according to each country's own history and scale, versus according to the standards of those who are worlds apart from it. It can easily distract from appreciating the growth & progression standards over time.
Excellent documentary sir. you have a new sub.👌
A well made program offering an in-depth look into Saudi Arabia.
Fascinating. Superbly produced and courageous documentary.
Thank you for this excellent in-depth documentary. I really appreciate the efforts of the reporter. It's interesting to see what has been kept and what has changed in their society.
At 25:59 he didn't say : the faith says to women: Stay within your home. They added that. That shows the intentions of the documentary producers.
what was really said then?
They want us to be oppressed so bad but they need to try harder. 😂Alhamdulillah.
We need to know what was said. Sometimes, intentional mistranslations are done in documentaries.
He also didn’t say “behind every successful man, there’s a woman”
He said “behind every man, there’s a great woman.”
Tons of deliberate mistranslations. This is a hit piece and is clearly biased. Very disappointing.
@@Shazzy1228 they straight up added that sentence. He didn’t say that sentence for them to translate it. They simply just added it on their own. He said, “behind every man, there’s a great woman. Our women are great, our women are chaste, our women are patient. They have patience with us men, so the advice, the promotion of virtue and the prevention of Vice is done with good manners, whether this was done in the past or in modern times.”
That’s the end of the quote.

@@ENDEVRDocs What is his name? He made a fantastic documentary and is an excellent journalist touching on very sensitive topics in the Saudi culture. It mustn't have been easy but he did it with much grace, especially when he manages to bring to light issues that in Saudi Arabia are not to be discussed or disputed or else! Often seemingly irrational in my point of view, often clouded by religion and power. I have to admit some of their culture made my blood boil. Not that the Western world is perfect however, we are seeing it fall of its perch in terms of free speech, democracy, hypocrisies, and abuse of power. Thank you for taking us on this journey of SA with you. This man gave balance with his compassion for the poor and downtrodden, the injustices and the complex inconsistencies of the culture. The young women were incredibly strong, while battling a somewhat archaic culture. I doubt if the truth will ever come to light of the brutal murder of journalist Khashoggi, or someone else will be accused. It's difficult to not see that their 'project' is part of a distraction and an attempt to re establish the 'good' reputation of the crown prince.
