    Thank you for updating us, Paul. I’m very happy that we will hear from you more frequently and that you are doing well. I’m new to snow blowing and watched almost all of your videos to make a good purchase last year. But, as I watched the videos, I cared less about the product and just enjoyed the Paul Sikkema experience. Welcome back!

    Wow, you have a great deal going on in your life my friend. Sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. But great that you have increased the time with other members of your family.
    You are a fantastic teacher. Keep up the good work. I love all of your videos and learn so much from you. Thanks.
    Be well!

    Thanks for sharing all that Paul. It was actually very nice to learn a little about the man behind the snowblower videos I’ve so enjoyed. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you this but you’ve got some of the most informative snowblower content on CZcams. I’ve got a service that takes care of my lawn but I’ve got a passion for snow removal so nobody gets to do that around here but me (I even love doing the finish work with the shovel). I’ve got an Ariens 2 stage and a Toro single stage but I love watching your product assessments regardless of brand (I’m partial to Ariens and Toro of course). Keep up the fine work and remember, “Press on regardless”.
    On a personal note, sorry to hear about your mom. My parents are no longer living but what I came to learn soon after they passed was that even though I can no longer get together with them for dinner they’ll always be with me.

    I missed your videos Paul and it's great hearing from you. You're an incredibly kind man and I'm happy to see you doing so much for your family. The CZcams videos can always take a back seat to family and friends. Glad to see you helping so many others.

    Paul i'm sorry for your loss. tomorrow is not promised for anyone. enjoy what you have while you still have it :) I love your "tell it like it is" attitude with your mower videos. as you know i've been thru heck and back with now 4 brand new scags and nothing but problems, the latest being a brand new tiger cat 2 that leaked in 5 places, it didn't even have an hour on it and i never got to mow with it. now i'm using a push mower because i can't find a decent zero turn for a decent price. everything as you know has gone up 2-3k, including scags, then even charge $500 more on top of that with their "scag" branded motor which is nothing more than a harbor freight loncin/predator. the times we live in...

    Welcome back Paul! Missed your videos and honest reviews on snow blowers and outdoor lawn equipment.
    Ever do any reviews on chipper/shedders? I have owned for sometime now the older garden way super tomahawk 8hp chipper/shedders but getting harder and harder finding replacement parts along with the several I owned or bought for spare parts are getting depleted. Love those machines but looking to purchase a new chipper/shedders similar to this type machine but looking to see if there are any new machines capable to do what these older garden way chipper/shedders did. Have long hard time finding anything close to this older type chipper/shedders.

    • @PaulSikkema
      @PaulSikkema  Před rokem

      No, I haven't kept up with the chipper/shredder market. Almost all of them are made overseas and the brand names change so often it's very hard to keep track of them.
      Myself, I mulch my leaves, have a city garage bin for small yard waste, a trailer to haul larger branches to the city recycling center and a burn pile out to the farm for large amounts of wood.

    It's great to hear from you again. Condolences on the loss of your mother. I'm sure that that is not easy for you or your father. I hope that the recent challenges you have faced are now over or at least more manageable and that your return as an influencer will be rewarding. I have really liked your tips and, as far as what I would like to see you cover, it would involve a head to head comparison of tracked snowblowers.

    I've been a subscriber for a few years now. Wow that was quite an update. Thank you for sharing. Best wishes for the future and thanks for making your youtube videos. I think my next lawnmower and snowblowers will be battery powered. I would be interested in a video on what can go wrong with electric powered machines .... for gas powered I'd take it into the small engine repair shop and they would work on the carburetor, pull cord or sparkplugs etc. etc. For an electric powered machine are there repairs that the dealership / repair mechanics make or does the entire lawnmower or snowblower just have to be scrapped or returned to the manufacturer. In other words, are for instance Toro "mechanics" trained to work on electric motors and switches etc. I just have the feeling if something goes wrong with an electric mower or snow blower it will become scrap as it won't be worth returning to the factory to get fixed. And even if that was the only way it may be months waiting to get it back. Being a user of EGO leave blowers and string trimmers I would feel even more helpless trying to find an EGO mechanic to fix a problem with say an EGO lawnmower.

    • @PaulSikkema
      @PaulSikkema  Před rokem +1

      Looking at Toro 60 volt specifically repairs will be very straightforward. All parts for your equipment are listed on the Toro website. Be aware they won't "repair" most components it just unplug and replace. For example, if the motor is noisy they won't replace the bearings - they will replace the motor.
      The Toro electric systems are pretty simple - a switch, wires, motor controller, battery, and electric motor. On most of their products the rest of mower/snowblower uses the same components as the gas versions. The mechanics that attend their training programs are able to troubleshoot and replace the components that are bad. I've had two issues with one Toro 60 volt mower so far and in each case they ordered the parts from Toro and it was repaired within a week.
      Good luck with EGO, Ryobi or any other brand that doesn't have servicing dealers...

    It’s great to see you return, though the news of your parents was sad - not to mention the passing of your mother. You have my sincere condolences. My father passed 11 years ago and I’m my mother’s caretaker (she has advanced Alzheimer’s). The divorce is something I can relate to all too well. Mine has just now passed the 3 year mark with my next court date in December - I’ll say no more than that.
    I appreciate all the images and even liked what looked to be an old Snapper rider in your garage 👍🏻. Wishing you the best, Paul.

    Glad to see you back missed you big time. Have a friend that is looking for a decent small blower, Husky SR 324 or Troy Built ??? where he lives most snow is 12 inches over the last 10 years or so, age is creeping up and the reason for a small blower. There is no Ariens or Toro dealers near them. Any reviews coming this winter on Budget blowers??

    • @PaulSikkema
      @PaulSikkema  Před rokem +1

      I just posted a series on the Troy-Bilt StormTracker 2890. It is the same snowblower as the Storm 2890 - just with tracks. It's priced the same as the Husqvarna ST324. The Storm 2890 has a larger engine and about the same capacity. You can get a Troy-Bilt serviced at many more dealers than you can a Husqvarna. With Stanley, Black & Decker now owning MTD/Troy-Bilt I expect you will be able to get parts for a Troy-Bilt for many, many years.
      I also found out that Husqvarna is getting out of most of the residential lawn/snow products in the next three years. They are going to focus on robotic mowers and professional/construction tools.

    Paul I have been worried about you. Iam sorry for the loss of your mother. We are spoiled. That generation grew up before modern conveniences lived through the depression,ww11 , and little help adjusting to modern life. They were always what I call stoic and never complained.
