- Investigators identified the suspect as 45-year-old Elliot Tramel Nowden. He was booked on suspicion of murder and is being held on $2 million bail. Joy Benedict reports.
This woman's family should sue Metro into oblivion. There is zero fare enforcement, zero police presence, and zero help for passengers facing an emergency. Negligence.
Seriously! Do they at least have this guy on security footage? Sounds like they arrested any old homeless person to make the community feel safe.

I stayed at a sober living for awhile. There I learned all homeless people get ebt and cash help monthly plus free unlimited 4g phones. That’s how the criminals and homeless buy drugs and stay in contact to organize their crime more

@@llhll8264Oklahoma dont have laws like AB109, Prop47 and Prop57. If you dont know, go look them up and read about them. Now they are working on Senate Bill 94 to release death row inmates and life without parole. So yes it has an impact on your State as they travel over there.
It is very difficult to stay in prison in California. Even committing mass murders and sentence to death. SB94 will put you back in the street.

He went into the train car to attack her, though. The problem is that the Metro subway trains consist of individual cars, so you can't pass through to another car. Metro would have to have a security guard in every single car.

This proves why homeless people and drug addicts on the street pose a serious threat to the community. They can't be loose on the street or else more innocent people will die from these incidents. This is a wake up call on how we deal with these people.

I ride the Metro all the time here in LA. I'm disgusted that most people don't even PAY their fare and NOBODY is enforcing it.
I pay EVERY time and I feel like a fool. What pisses me off about them is that this system doesn't pay for COPS or people to clean the trains. How do they pay for themselves if nobody pays the fare? I see homeless people just riding the trains without any destination.
National guard should patrol these train stations.

Nearly 50 years of living in Los Angeles and travelling to different countries all over the world including so called "third world countries," LA has started to feel like those crime ridden third world countries I visited. The Metro subways didn't have their own police force. They contract with other law enforcement agencies. However, they're thinking about creating their own force now.

My friend who work at that station told me the stabbing happened inside the train .it always happened .but for tso1 their policy is don’t put your self in trouble for just a 1.75 fair and for those armed contract security they don’t have any authority or anything to check for a tap card . All this incident are not going to happened if we we don’t let those transient ,5150 individuals get inside of the train station and who are to blame but those board council and metro CEO .They are so hard headed that put metro patrons life in danger.This is not the first time it happened and that board member he doesn’t know anything .As long as those unstable individuals could come inside the station to ride train and buses it this incident is going to happen again and again

I lived in LA 2011 - 2016.
Certain areas were scary back then and I'm sure it's worse now. And the subway always felt like a big risk though I rode it sometimes.
