- The chase persisted along the 10, 110 and 5 Freeways as the suspect led both LAPD and CHP officers on a lengthy high-speed chase from Santa Monica to Sylmar.

You'd be surprised by how many people do that. When there're multiple police units, they do pull them over and give them a ticket. But in the end, the idiots are always caught.
