As a volunteer EMT for Christian County Missouri 15+ years. Worked many of those crashes it would take 20 minutes to arrive on scene. Many times you would have to wait for extrication and occasionally getting one or more patients pulled up a 200 ft + hill. It is a totally different world working out in a rural area.
As for the comments about the off-duty EMTs that stopped, one of the first things you were taught when you arrive at a scene is to " wind your watch". In other words don't go rushing into a scene until you know what you're going to need, how to get to the patient and don't get yourself injured. You're not going to help if you become a patient yourself.
"The death gurgle." This young man had a guardian angel on duty. A miracle he's alive. No helmet...

Yup, I've been to some bad crashes and listening to him when that Trooper got up there reminded me of the last fatal crash I went to. Just lucky, lucky and blessed young man.

There was no "death gurgle". He has the wind knocked out of him, which makes you sound like that. Plus a couple broken bones and realizing he's going to jail on top of his injuries. You have no clue what your talking about.

Off duty medical personnel who stop to help are indispensable and never seem to get the thanks they deserve. Thanks to the couple who came back to help - help both the biker and the trooper. The rider chose the wrong road and the wrong time of day to go headless.
But the guy did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. All he did was put his gloves on. That's it. WTF are you talking about? You seeing things or what???
@@user-pp4ve6qo1b I love the fact that people have the ability to see the good or the bad in a situation. He probably gave in to his wife's urging to stop and see if the trooper needed assistance. The fact that they offered help to a reckless biker who passed them at more than 100 mph, is testimony enough as to the generosity of their intensions. Medical science has proven time and time again that a positive mental attitude is an incredibly important part of healing. People who focus on the positive, faith-filled experiences in their lives spread joy and happiness to the people they encounter. Gratitude is contagious!! Try it.
@user-pp4ve6qo1b Cowboy pants, chill. He gave the female some things she might need. Just them being there helped the patient and Trooper Hipps. The dude wasn't a paramedic, he teaches CPR & first aid. AT least they tried.
This one wasn’t hard to watch; it was hard to listen to. The audio is excellent. Wouldn’t expect anything else from this channel. Best editing on YT. Other creators on YT could learn a lot from whoever manages this channel. It’s SO GOOD. 👍🏻

Rode motorcycles for over 50 years. Never rode without a helmet. It saved me after being rear ended. Turning 70 in January and am finally giving up my M/C endorsement. Ride safe and ride smart.
Don't give up. Some 70 something lady was at the track this weekend practicing for an endurance race.

He was lucky to survive the crash. Hard to believe he was still a firefighter with a DUI and felony possession charge. Maybe if he makes it without severe neuro problems, he can turn his life around.
At the very least he should never get a cycle licence ever again.
Hard to believe after being a firefighter and responding to various calls, he would risk his and everyone else life in n the area. Lack of sense.
Knew a pilot who rode a Harley and ran off the road late at night around 2am into deep brush. The next day family reported him missing and it took another 4 hrs or so to find him. He had severe head/chest injuries and bled out. Didn't make it. This guy could have easily at 101 mph even w/o the officer chasing him lost it and laid there for who knows how long.
The good man upstairs was watching over him ,!🙏 Your life can be taken in a moment if you do that ! He's very blessed to have made it ! That road is very curvy ! Best wishes to him and I hope he learns his lesson ! Most of all , I'm glad his life wasn't taken

I crashed my m/c at 19, the age when we think we are invincible. Luckily there was an off-duty paramedic having dinner at the address where I wrecked. I'll never be able to thank him enough, lost my leg but his swift actions saved my life.

I was riding bicycles w some guys one night. We were moving about 25-30 mph when a deer came flying out of the woods and t-boned the guy behind me. He was wearing a helmet, but his head hit the ground so hard, there was a bloody spot on the back of his head. He kept asking us where he was and what happened. Same questions over and over. Same as this guy.
Sgt. Hipps did a great job. Much thanks to the couple that stopped to help, The patient got help, but I think they helped Sgt. Hipps just by being there, Sgt Hipps sounded a tad relieved. NST thank you, the content was serious, but the video was awesome. Hope Garret is doing well. Be safe & Blessed everyone. ❤USA Flag🚑

First few minutes are pretty intense, to hear him mumble and slur, barely able to put 2 words together then alof sudden he comes back to and just totally clueless to how he ended up there.

My mother's family is from that border area; I know those roads well. I've been riding motorcycles for 8 years now, and I would not like to ride those roads at the speed limit in those conditions - never mind at 100. I guess the old saying is right; "GOD looks after idiots and small children"...

@douglas-hughes It's well over and hour to Springfield MO emergency room, probably closer to 1.5 hrs. That's a pretty remote area in Arkansas as well as in Missouri right there on the state line
@Mockingbird71 most of these counties down there tend to have a small community hospital, with a rent a doctor working in the er. Basically just a Band-Aid station that can possibly stabilize them until they can LifeLight them to a Trauma Center weather permitting. Otherwise they get to go by ground ambulance and that takes forever.
I worked over two decades as a paramedic in missouri, even worked out of Springfield for hospital-based service center for a little while. And you're right there's some parts of southern Missouri Northern arkansas, that can take forever to get on scene. Problem is there's no straight highways or interstates they're all very curvy roads that are almost always too late. Yeah major trauma like this, typically they don't survive until EMS can get on scene. If they do then they've got at least a Fighting Chance
Hell I worked for a service in Northwest Missouri and there were some parts of our district, that easily took 20 to 25 minutes to get to.
Which is why local volunteer fire departments in First Responders are a godsend. Typically they get on seen fairly quickly but it takes the ambulance a little while to get there because of the remote locations
Couldn't tell if he had a helmet on or not. I'd place money that he wasn't. Riding in the dark, in the rain, going over 90 MPH and you take the risk of crashing and making sounds like a bull moose in heat. I do hope the knucklehead is okay though.

gotta appreciate the couple's offer to help, but grateful the bright helmetless dude didn't need real first aid. they waddled slow as molasses and just sorta dithered. the trooper did good as always.
That area looks to be pretty rural so that's an impressive turnout of first responders. Wouldn't see anything like it here in the UK for one injured motorcyclist. Our emergency services are woefully understaffed.
