The service dog and me “just for the sake of the chase.” These guys are walking in a field that is several miles long and wide with guns pointed on them, trucks that would easily catch up, and a helicopter is probably just minutes away. They’re not going anywhere. It’s irresponsible to risk your dog’s life and these men for the sake of the chase. Especially in today’s political climate where cops are under such scrutiny. Seems like an overuse of power. I bet you’d get disciplined.

The amount of training that have to go into these k9 dogs is actually pretty amazing . Duke was committed in the first clip. And when his handler told him to come back and sit it was immediatemuch respect to these officers and their partners
GSDs are extremely good working line dogs that actually prefer to be working - when not working they are pretty full on.
What are you talking about? I think the training was sub par for k-9, the officer had to contain the dog the whole time during the arrest. Also, it could be argued in court that the suspects couldn't hear the commands due to the constant barking overpowering the officers voices. Literally dogs are pointless for police. They just die and waste tax dollars.
@@lucasrobison99 agreed he had to contain the dog the entire time but it was mostly done with voice commands . And the K9 dogs are trained to take a suspect down. Argued in court or not if they were running from the troopers and they could hear them yelling im pretty sure about that and they should know what a K9 dog is so when they heard the commotion from troopers and dog and still didn't want to stop right away I say let the dog go. Let him have a little taste of criminal essence and I can guarantee you they won't run quite as quick they next time . As for being a waste of money I disagree as the K9 dogs have apprehended and helped apprehend a lot of runners so no I think it's a good thing to have a dog or 4 on shift.

I just wanted to comment on that.. You're driving huge amounts of drugs cross country and you get pulled over for tail gating somebody or driving to close to the line or crossing it.. I mean, WTF? Where do they get these bozos?? In America you have a beautiful thing called Constitution which prevents the cops from stopping your vehicle if you haven't made any violation. Drug dealers should use that thing Jefferson, Hancock and the rest of the gang wrote more than 200 years ago. One more advice.. When your're hauling 500 000$ worth of dope, use back up. Two cars should accompany you. One driving in front of you, the other behind you and they should do something stupid to pull the attention from the car that actually has dope in it.. It's common sense and these guys do this for a living and still can't get a cool dude who can drive 1000 miles without making a traffic violation..?? Pathetic.

I had a beautiful German Shepard named Duke that died about a year ago. Great Dog. Love seeing these police dogs in action. My first real pet was a retired police German Shepard named Trooper. Best dog I ever had.

It’s also important you check brake lights, registration, etc. if there is no reason to pull you over, then you’re good to go, period.

I live in Utah and I have lots of friends that are EMT’s and they say it’s a lot of fun when some one is high or has taken some kind of drug
Duke is able to sense when his handler’s adrenaline is raising getting excited about the call. Crazy how they’re able to sense that.
When you run a K9, you're taught that your emotions run down the leash
And even more impressive how obedient and controlled the dog is in that situation when he's ready to attack
I used to have coffee with Duke once a week at a local coffee shop. He was a very calm, serene doggo. We would talk for hours about human behavior, what makes criminals tick and the mindset of violent felons. He told me he had a rough time being trained at the academy, but it was the best thing for him and he eventually became one of the best K-9 doggo's in the force

@@jeffchaney1191 I think it's the first option like in planes and trains, in a holding tank and then in a septic tank (in proper areas, airports and train stations where they stop for longer), wouldn't be nice to leave a smelly dump when you leave your space on a campsite or even smelly it during your stay, not that nice even if you stopped in the middle of nowhere... so yeah, she's ignorant.

One time I told the cops I had weed in the car but I had none ... end of story, the cops helped me clean my car of all the garbage inside. They were a couple of helpful dudes, God bless them.
