    Bitterness comes from hop mostly. So more bitter bear usually have more hop extract and sweeter beers come with more malt extract (or just less fermentation). Specific flavors come from both different proportions of malt & hop but also different varieties (like caramel malt or smoked malt, specific hop mix), different yeast and so on. As there are few dozens established beer styles there are many different products for ppl with different taste. It's not all about getting drunk (with stronger alcohol content). It's just that particular style is inherently stronger (like Stout ... ) Sure there are some beers which are made to make you drunk without following any specific style. Like most with "Mocne" in the name.

    English bloke living in Poland here, yeah my favourite is Ksiazece red as being a bitter drinker it reminds me of the closest Polish beer to bitter, my other favourite is although not a bitter, Warka strong (Black label) might be worth a try, Warka red label that you tried I like freezing cold on a boiling hot day, although a lager is refreshing and goes down a treat but I wouldn't drink it at any other time though even though I have a stock of it for when the weather improves.

    Other beers to try:
    "Namysłów" - light beer. You might like it.
    "Lubuskie":
    Lubuskie has many variations and flavoured options: "chocolate" "blueberry" "apple" "strawberry" "aloes" etc.
    My fav are: lubuskie celtyckie, chocolate, and blueberry. There's also a "light" version.
    "Magnus" - has flavoured options (chocolate, toffi)
    "Fortuna"- dark beer
    "Łomża"
    "Cornelius"
    *Non alcoholic options: lubuski kwas chlebowy.
    During winter, in pubs there's often an option to order "grzaniec". I guess you already drank it in Czech/Slovak pubs.
    It's usually a mulled wine + seasonings, but sometimes there's an option of a "mulled beer" + seasonings. It's sweet, and it's based on a light beer, common additions are: orange slices, ginger, cloves.

But when I want to drink a better beer I choose one from thousands of Craft Beers.

  • @AkaDjMario81
    @AkaDjMario81 Před rokem

    You have just tried a few so called "commercial beers". There are so many middle and small breweries with nice kraft beer. For example "Lech" is a fine watery light beer and you are searching for those kind of beers, so you have also a specific taste (it means, you won't probably like any IPA, APA, wheat beers, etc.). That's fine. I assume you prefer light beers like "Peroni or Budweiser or Augustiner"...from the polish beers try to find Miłosław/Ale Browar/Pinta or some large beer shops in bigger cities (they should help with the choice). Na zdrowie.

Lots of you selected are already either Calsberg or Heineken and we have some really Polish beers that are not so popular but way better than the ones you tried.

    To me on this table are both the best and the worst :)
    But to me Tyskie is not a beer, Lech is even worst :P
    Żywiec:
    - the standard one is good as a concerned
    - APA is great
    - Białe is my favourite wheat beer
    Książęce: i love the IPA, but all of those beers are good.
    The beers that are not appering on this video:
    - i highly recommend the Grodziskie beer, often available in Żabka
    - Miłosław, especially Sosnowe IPA
    - Okocim is good as a cheap beer; some days ago they made the Zimowe (Winter) one, which was better as a warm than cold, it Was something like a Grzaniec (mulled beer), it was fkn awesome; the polish ale that they were making (i think i didn't see it on shops last Times) was very good too.

    Cześć André! Your selection is from the biggest breweries in Poland, so you missed a lot local and the beer from small Craft brewers. If you are interested in a good selection of Craft, try the smaller shops, they have more beers in the fridges but mostly in the bigger cities! I know a lot of people prefer beer from the bottle but you should always try it from the glass, if you don’t have a tasting glass, take a wine glas, you will taste and smell the difference. Only in a glass beer can show you the whole range of flavors in a beer. The problem is, that most beers you had, are almost brewed from the same companies. So they don’t very that much in alcohol and taste. But I can say they are not bad but just average. Na zdrowie and enjoy your time in Poland 🇵🇱 Greetings from Switzerland 🇨🇭 David-

This under beer was popular in soviet times and was very refreshing and with lot of calories, so good for ppl hard working This drink it's kinda like beer but home made with a little alcohol in it. We slavs prefer to drink it when it was cooled, you can find recipes for it at the internet and it's izi to make at home, I recommended every one to give it a try. ;) Also in some polish shops there are possibilities to buy it ready from factory but in these days it's rare to get some.

There is a bear on the label because the Wisent supports endangered species and they just add them to the label. I personally prefer craft beer and I don't drink anything from this table except the buckwheat one.

    My dear friend, good video. Two points though:
    1. Beer tastes best served between 7-10*C (some cases even 3*C). Only then it unleashes the whole taste :)
    2. When pouring, the glass needs to be held at an angle (best 45*C) and you then pour on the glass mid-point. The reason you had all those foams is you were pouring straight into the glass.
    Keep up i na zdrowie! :)

    Just one minor suggestion: if you pour so the beer flows down the side of the glass, you might get less “froth,” and be able to highlight the color better.
    Otherwise? GREAT video, very entertaining. I’ve never had Polish beer. Never been to Poland. Might be reasons to get on a plane😏👍🏾🍺
    EDIT, there are several craft beers (IPAs mostly) here in the USA that are 7% or higher ABV. They can be an acquired taste…
