Most people have no idea just how much LeBron learned from being in Miami with Pat and that world class organization over there. He not only learned about creating winning culture, he learned about the business side of basketball and how it all intersects. I’m glad he created his own path and didn’t stay at an incompetent organization rotting away just because other greats played for one team. There are different paths to greatness, no need to follow anyone else’s.

Larry Bird’s dad died via suicide when he was 18. Not quite single parent as he was ‘around’ til Larry was grown technically. But he was also an alcoholic. They all have a difficult path is the only reason I say that. Not taking away from what Lebron and his mom went through. But just because they were the only ‘single parent household’ doesn’t mean plenty of greats didn’t have difficult stuff going on to overcome

If Vegas gets a team, it will be in the West, so a new team will need to be built in the East, my votes are Montreal or Tampa Bay.
Canadian here: Montreal looks good on paper but I think the language barrier alone could sink the project. Tampa is a much safer choice.
3 teams in florida is a little bit much. Unwritten rule is, you can have only 2 teams in a state before you start losing money.

Liverpool was never “pretty good” they have always been a world class top 5 team globally. I’m not even a Liverpool fan but anyone who follows soccer knows that this is undershooting and making Liverpool sound like a bad club. I know Casey does not specialize in soccer but I just wanted to point that out.
How about from between about 2011-16 before Klopp. Torres was sold and Liverpool were no where near title challengers except for 2014 with Suarez and Gerrard. When LeBron bought that stake in Liverpool they were not where they used to be nor where they are now in terms of success
They were not even Top 5 in in the 2010s until Klopp came.

As great as Lebron is even his calculation can misfire.
