This is my review of the HobbyBoss 1/35 Tiger II/King Tiger Henschel/Production Turret, the box is packed with sprues and you get all the parts you need to make a very interesting model, this one includes a metal barrel and resin muzzle cover.

Peter Horne : Hi thanks for the review, really very informative, as this is the Feb '45 Late production with 18-tooth drive sprocket, updated tracks and new design front mudgaurds. You've convinced me to get this one to add to my other Tiger II kits. Keep up the good work.
That would be the sPz.Abt 505, at 2:53 that is the Octopus Camo pattern. There is a famous defense of one Tiger from the 3rd Company 511th Heavy Tiger Battalion, in that pattern commanded by Sgt Heinz Wilms a bit after the 1st of April 1945. I would imagine that all 8 King Tigers they picked up from the Henschel Factory before they met the Americans were all painted the same way.. making it a very rare pattern and unique as well.
This is a great looking kit!
Great review very nice and detailed kit 👍👍
Excelente kit!!!
Cheapest I could find was £30 and I think thats still great value for money, really looking forward to the build, never done accurate tracks like this before
I've got the Takom King kit with full interior. Haven't had the chance to start it yet. It does look good though, it'll break my Armor cherry that's for sure. Great price for so much plastic, Takom kit didn't come with a metal barrel. Great review, thanks
I had to grab the kit when it came out as well, I couldn't go past it for value.
Hi there, many thanks for the review , looking forward to your build as ever , ? for you re tracks , jus got this kit 84532 , it appears to me that these are definitely not going to be workable , tracks glue together with separate pairs of guidehorns to be glued to middle, if I'm right .
One will have too mold them around wheels , and that will be tricky , considering adding guidehorns as well.
Some of these kits , tracks have 3 separate pieces , maybe there workable .
As I'm about to start all help appreciated.
Best Edward
Great kit to build but I've now seen the ryefield Panther ausf G kit with full interior and clear plastic bodyshell which looks awesome.I hate it when you have to hide all your intricate work away and more parts the better IMO,lol
At least there is a jig to assist in piecing the tracks together.
Just ordered this kit but found a mistake, they supply the wrong tracks to model Tiger 324 as 324 had 9 tooth sprocket but the tracks are for 18 tooth sprocket, luckily the kit supplies both sprockets.so now I have to buy a new set of tracks.
How can you fix turret in hull to allow it to rotate? I mean according to kit i guess you have to glue it in fixed position but gun can move in vertical axis and inside of turret and gun lock have some nice details so it make no sense.
If i just put it in im sure it will fall out and brake in future when i forget about it.
Glad you mentioned this Maciej , I'm from Ireland and hate that , had same issue with Trumpeter Tiger , had to glue in fixed position as there were no slots for turret to allow rotation 🤔 !
Is this becoming common feature on models !
Best Edward .
@@edwardkennedy5680 i used flat piece from one frame with 'tiger ll' mark and glued it below turret ring. It created this little wings like in tamiya models to allow rotation. Its not perfect but it works.
@@maciejszczepanik Thanks Maciej will try something like that , how did you get on with the tracks , can you tell me how many tracks per side , as there is no mention in instructions , front R side and L side.
Are you from Poland ?
Edward
@@edwardkennedy5680 I've got 92 track pieces per side. If i remember correctly i glued half flat piece with half of guide horns and let it dry. Then i assembled it on flat, using track with horns, flat track, and track with horns alternately, put small dot of glue in the middle and glue missing horns, wait for about 5 min, wrap it around wheels without one final piece, and secure with rubber band till dry. Then i took it of, ad more glue on joints, painted it and fixed it with last track piece after painting everything else.
I was afraid of it but it wasn't so bad as it looks.
Yeah, im from Poland.
@@maciejszczepanik Thank you so much Maciej , that is the information I need , and for your expert advice on assembling the tracks , I find them tricky , particularly in this case with the additional guidehorns.
My brother in law was Ambassador to your country , made many trips there , wonderfully people , so many good memories .
Best wishes Edward.
Is there a build video for this model coming?
Yes there is, some way off but it will definitely be along, I’ve done some research on the kit and have the details for it 👍
@@ChampionScaleModelling It’s been 2 months where is the video
Ambush camo
Where did you buy it at such a good price? Do you have a link?
Yeah I was wondering that as well.
I think his had the wrong price ticket on it,lol
I wouldn't bother,too many inaccuracies.
The mounted knight with lance insignia on the decal sheet is for the 505th SS Heavy Tank Battalion. Don't know the others without researching accordingly and thoroughly. Cheers.
The tracks are horrible 😄
