Your oil wash on your figure looks great..Oils for flesh tones look great but hard to do..I used to use oils waaaay back on figures and was really getting somewhere..Now back to the hobby I’m slowly approaching figures and will try in oils..The Tiger looks wonderful and appreciate your detail you look for in a kit..Can’t wait to see this Tiger progress further..All the best👍

Tiger looks fine. I struggle with figures myself...the uniforms are not the problem with me, its the faces...they look shocked, surprised or angry 😂😂😂 your figures are fine.

Whenever I am building Tamiya kits or Gundams and something doesn't fit I never stress, I just reread instructions because I always know I am doing something wrong, its never the kit. Also, are you from Norfolk in UK, just the odd few words remind me of home eg streeken (streaking). Great build bud.

Ahhh how did I miss your white glue for light lenses the first watch!! Fantastic, the amount of stress and angst trying to paint, buy or make em! Nice build and ill be getting that kit too.

Is there any tank models from any brand that doesnt need to be painted or is every model have to be painted? I just dont have enough time in the school year to paint anything

Looking superb! I do like the design of the M24, it's quite a tough looking light tank.

Having built both this and the Eduard kit, i think I prefer Tamiya. The Eduard kit on the one hand is much more detailed, the rivers on the fuselage and wings just blow my mind and the cockpit detail is also really good. However, the fit was not great at all and I had to use A LOT of filler and a lot of sanding and gluing and even then i still couldnt get the fit exactly right. Tamiya's Spitfire kit is not as well detailed, but it's still very much accurate shape-wise. The fit however, was superb, everythig went together so nicely and I only needed a very small amount of filler in the whole build. If you want full detail go with Eduard, but be prepared to fight it in some way. If you want a kit that looks like a Spitfire but will be more enjoyable to build, go with Tamiya.

Yeah. That suspension is ridiculous. No reason to be that complicated. Add in all the parts are tiny. I had an adventure getting this kit. I ordered the Korean war version, got it opened the box. Lower hull tub was missing. Emailed the company that sent ir, they sent out a full kid. Opened the box? Yep. No lower hull. Emailed the company and i think part of them was thinking im stealing kids. Lol Except when they opened another box, that too was missing the lower hull. Haha. So they sent out ANOTHER kit. Called AFV and they of course ignored it. The company ended up opening 12 chaffees boxes and 5 of them were missing hulls. Lol. In the end. I got the lower hull. I got so fed up with the suspension that I just glued everything into place. I'm doing a Korean war version. Something about olive drab tanks with brightly covered faces on the front. Good luck with yours.

Ive got the tamiya and eduard both on my desk to build side by side. In most cased i prefer eduard in every way but tamiya always has better landing gear fitment and angles.

When i saw your video in my feed, I was surprised to see this kit. Started this particular kit a couple of months ago. Not a pleasant build. Mainly because of the running gear suspension and main gun assembly. You had a great idea of using wire instead of the tiny parts for the suspension. Had to do some modifying of the rear idler wheel assembly as well. Mine isn't finished as of yet. I put it in a plastic box and set it aside. It sucked the modeling mojo right out of me. I will say it is a nice representation of an M24 Chaffee, but thats it. No joy in building.. Thank you for the honest review!😄

I stay clear of AFV kits pick up a SD.KFZ/232 early type at a model show cheap, just doing the 8 wheels, suspension and steering was a nightmare as for the instructions not much help ! but thanks for time and effort in making this kit

When I got this kit I was very excited to build it. Needless to say it ended up in the trash bin. I really wish Tamiya would do an all new tooling of the Chafee or Takom.

Good build video. I really cannot stand AFV or Academy kits, though have built a few. Way too many teeny-tiny pieces, fit problems, 1-piece vinyl tracks are always just a teeny-tad too short, decals questionable, instructions leave you scratching your head more than actually placing parts correctly, and other "adventures". However, both companies do have some great subject matter to choose from. Probably the best Academy kit I have built was their M41 Walker Bulldog - not quite sure how I completed that kit without sending it across the room a few times!! Have built the original Italeri kit eons ago and it was an OK kit - represents the M24 good enough and I avoided the urge to poke my own eyes out while building it. Also built the Tamiya/Italeri collaboration and had some unpleasant PTSD (if that is possible in modeling) to that original kit, but got it finished. Tamiya version was advertised as "new tooling" but, did not notice that at all. Plus, it has a metal barrel and a figure and better Tamiya instructions.

Thank you for the build. Luckily the Chaffee isn't on the top of my 'want tot build' list, but I eyed the AFV Club kit in case of a sale deal. Not so much now. Nice details, but I don't want to extend my swear dictionary.

After watching the build and you did a fine job. I.ll stick with the TAMIYA/ITALIRI and EDUARD detail set

M24 is a good looking tank. I've always considered building one in a French Indochina vignette, but it won't be this one.

Got mine built finally, was not easy. The suspension is mucho over engineered and takes an all hands on deck approach to get the roadwheels all lined up. Word of advice: The fenders some in something like 3 parts, and it's best to assemble them off the tank as a unit, and then onto the tank once you've done all you want to with the tracks. This is if you leave on the side skirts.

Would have been interested to see you apply the tracks as they always give me problems

I would like to build a Chaffee one day. Reminds me of watching "Battle of the Bulge" as a youngster!

Currently making a 1/35 M24 chaffee myself from Bronco Models. Kit is a pain in the backside but fun, all I have to do is paint it and I am going for a Korean war, Operation ripper paintjob!

I went with after-market tracks on this kit, as I ALWAYS lose track horns when I mount the tracks on the roadwheels. Frustrating, especially when they're eaten by the 'carpet monster'.

Wow not to bad at all. Thanks I hav been make mine for 1/72 with little jig I made. I made a small, s jig for the middle buckles. I like your way better.

Nice job. Truly top drawer. Curiously, I wondered how you were going to salvage such "troubled weathering" on the top surface of the wings but your technique rallied to pull it off. I'll try it out myself as the effect was quite pleasing. Thank you for sharing. I actually had no idea the Romanian air force was active around Stalingrad during the siege. Keep up the good work. If i follow correctly you glue everything except the wheels, because you start airbrushing in the next video without wheels/tracks. Love the video as a starter!!! Purchased the Tamiya SU122 1/35 before finding this video else i would have taken this Panzer 🙂

Good video, with one caveat: if this was intended for new modellers, be aware that most newbies don't have an airbrush and might even be hesitant to use rattle cans. For a tutorial video, I would have recommended painting everything with a brush just like our ancestors did.
