- Oscar Nunez from the Office, Ingrid Oliver (Doctor Who), Amy Dallen (you know who she is, g&s!), and Elyse Willems (Funhaus) are trapped in a dinosaur theme park on an island! Can they, uh, uh, find a way to restore power and communications and escape in time? Find out, in an escape room 65 million years in the making!
We’ve locked celebrities in a room together and thrown a bunch of puzzles and riddles at them to see if they can free themselves in under a half hour. Janet Varney hosts as we bring the escape room phenomenon to the screen.

To person making puzzle if that was DNA the U's would have been T's as the U is uracil which is in RNA while T which is thymine which is in DNA. Good puzzle though

Is it bad I want them to try a Zero Escape series room? More specifically, the Transporter Room from Zero Time Dilemma? Seeing them trying to figure out pictorial base 13 would probably be an instant kill.
I get so excited when they succeed in these. I love this series!!!
The real question is, why does the Dinosaur DNA give a RNA sequenze?
Buhlian Now this is vague memory from high school biology, so I'm probably mistaken. But DNA is 4 proteins(?) G, T, C and A. RNA basically builds DNA and has the complimentary proteins. So if G and C fit together you know that wherever there is a G in the DNA there was a C in the RNA.
Something like DNA: GATTACA
RNA: CTAATGT
Any real biologists out there want to correct me, feel free. I'm not even sure i used the word protein appropriately 🙄
Luminous Orange Sunglasses I know this comment is three months old but you did alright on everything except that RNA has a U-uracil instead of T-thymine but otherwise you knew your stuff.
Luminous Orange Sunglasses I'm currently in high school and it is not everything correct... First, Nucleic Acids (DNA, RNA) building blocks are not proteins nor amino acids, are nucletides which are name by their nitrogenous bases [Adenosine (A), Thymine (T)...]. Then it is true that mRNA and a DNA chain are complememtary, but if they gave the sequence coded like RNA (which I am not sure because I haven't finished the episode) it may be because is how sequences are expressed in databases like the one on the NCBI web. Because it is much easier to build databases for only 4 letters (A,U,C,G) than for 5 (previous + T).
Sorry for misspelling and I wish I said everything right so I can be helpful. ^^

Simple answer to differences:
1. RNA usually shorter
2. Different backbone molecules
3. DNA is A to T. RNA is A to U
So original comment is wondering why there is U in the strand of dino "DNA"

I third that motion, CR is the shit, you won't regret watching it. Plus there's probably hundreds of hours for you to binge, so... dive in, friend!
Watch it in chunks. Not saying TableTop and Escape aren't great shows, but Critical Role is amazin
I just have to shake my head when people complain that CR is too long. It's here on YT, you can stop the video whenever and mark it as Watch Later. YT even remembers the minute you stopped watching. It's not like every session HAS to be viewed in one sitting, there are natural luls when you can pause and walk away. If you can't pace yourself, don't blame the show.

Janet - you are awesome, been a fan of yours since I experience your humor on @midnight a while back. Realized you were one of the funniest people I hadn't heard of yet.
Now this show Escape, every other week opposite of TableTop (quite possibly one of the best shows on G&S/CZcams) which helps with the time slot, but the show itself is about Escape Rooms.... OH COME ON you guys are after my heart here, love those types of leveled puzzles.
Then...Then...this episode comes on and you got Elyse, super talented and cool.
You got Ingrid, who plays one of my favorite (favorite based on actors performance not just the character written) non-companions from Doctor Who (who should be a freaking companion).
You got Oscar, who come on, we all know how funny he is.
And then...And then... You have Amy Dallen herself. Yeah, we all know who she is, she is the one the prophecies spoke of. She came to G&S at a time there was so many new faces, and she stood out easily. And now after what felt like some dark times from G&S, Amy is seen more and things are getting better. Doctor Amy crafting in the mines, the reason I subscribed to G&S twitch channel.... honestly have not seen the episode and already my favorite one.

I'm not saying it's impossible, but it feels very improbable that so many of these episodes have had close calls yet all succeeded. The time limit is great, but if people go over the time limit, I'm not opposed to letting them still finish. Just, after they're done, let them know how much they went over by and wish them better luck for the next time.
But, as I said, it's not impossible that all of these groups cut it close all these times. I suppose that's the benefit of having 4 people: there will always be at least one person able to follow a proper clue to the answer in decent time.
