I am looking for this piano now. I have the model A from that year.
This discklavier doesn't do the image of Mason & Hamilin any favors. It's like would Steinway or Fazioli or modern Bechstein put this ... stuff on their instruments?
Steinway currently produces their own factory-installed players called Spirio, Boesendorfer released the CEUS years back, Yamaha’s Disklavier system continues to be very popular. QRS (featured here) and PianoDisc are add-ons for any acoustic piano, I’ve seen them added to concert grands of several top tier makes. There are many reasons why a player system might appeal to others, be it a lost ability to play, a desire to hear concert-level performances played at your request, background live musical entertainment at gatherings, etc. If installed with care and the piano is maintained, the player system will not ruin a piano.
@@russ22466 Hmmm
@@russ22466 Let me add that some of us who have spent 1000s of hours in our long lifetimes practicing actually hold M&H in equally high or higher regard than Steinway.
@@paxwallace8324 that’s great! Just saying that player systems suit so many needs that even some of the best manufacturers incorporate them. I love Mason & Hamlin as well!
@@russ22466 You made some great points Russ
No. I'll go back to Wally
