- So you wanted to make your own John Wick style airsoft pistol? Me too!
After months of work on this project I am finally able to put the build video out there! Woohoo!
I know this video is a little bit longer than usual but hopefully packed full of all the information you need to start customising your airsoft pistol.
In this video we go through all the important parts of a TM Glock 17, what they do and what you need to upgrade to make a gas efficient custom airsoft pistol.

Can't stress enough how important it is to understand what you are getting in to before starting your custom pistol build. This guide is intended to walk you through the parts of an airsoft pistol and what the upgrade components' intended purposes are. I'd really recommend the striker hop unit over the maple leaf one. Maple leaf has worse tolerances and it doesn't reinforce the OB nub, which is generally considered a necessary upgrade for reliability.
What is ob nub?
@@takinie9024 The nub on the side of the hop chamber that interfaces with the outer barrel. The main flaw in original WE/TM chambers is they're made of cast potmetal, which is very weak and since the nub is such a small piece it shears off easily. The striker chamber is good quality CNC milled aluminum and the nub is an inset piece of steel. Much more reliable, won't break on you.

DP lightweight bbu has stopped functioning the way it should so it's back to the standard TM BBU for me. Still works the same, just heavier recoil.

Just subbed, waiting for my umarex g17 gen4 to be delivered and think it will need a few upgrades.
The umarex glocks are made to run super efficient on metal slides so the only thing you'll probably need to upgrade is the barrel for more FPS or a new bucking for better accuracy. Other than that I'm sure you'll love it 🙂

Glock arrived today mate buzzin. Its shooing down and to the left so put a cheap laser onit for now how much ft lbs would it increase by adding a new barrel and what would ya recomend

If the stock barrel is 6.04mm and you change to a 6.02mm barrel of the same length you'd probably get around 15-20 extra FPS, maybe a bit more. You can go all the way to the laylax power barrel which is 6.00mm too for the biggest FPS boost by bore tightening
Tbh i think il leave upgrades for now im happy with the way it shoots and the few extra fps is not worth swapping the barrel for just yet. My mate who i work with in yorkshires does alot of airsoft so gona go with him hopefully this summer cant wait bord of shooting rabbits haha stay safe bro :)

I'm building a umerex g17, new to airsoft. Trying to learn about these upgrades. Will that barrel work in the umerex elite force?
Also, will real glock sites work on these? I need to upgrade to something that matches my real steel glock. Black out rear and green fiber optic ft. Preferable an adjustable rear site. What would you recommend?

Love the build my friend. I pre ordered the elite force/umarex glock 18c and it should be shipping in the next week or so. I did not order an additional extended mag but did order 1 factory elite force 25 shot mag for the glock 17 since evike lists that all the same mags that fit the 17 and 19 will fit. I want to try and have that race gun look. Could you recommend a slide that would allow me to mount a reflex red dot? Other than that I will probably mount a olight. Other than that what could you suggest to increase the accuracy and fps? In the very few reviews I have seen it shoots around 290fps. I would like to be in the 325-330 neighborhood if that's possible. I'm planning on .25 bbs and someone told me to run .20's as that would almost get me there but I hate running smaller ammo in any of my firearms. As far as I'm aware there isn't many custom parts for the elite force Glocks, however that may have changed since I last checked so best looking on rainbow8's website for parts!
In terms of FPS, the only real way to do that would be by cutting the internals of the magazine valves, but I've never looked at the EF mags so wouldn't be able to tell you if it can be done, sorry

im running and APS ACP (basc G17) and besides its working good to me it tends to stick back a bit and the slide dont recover in total and ive seen some wear and tear, so time for upgrade i thing this is a good example of upgrades to follow :D
being CO2 power is the nozzle the only thing to watch out? also the ACP has duble slide spring so its snapy

You will still need to upgrade fully but install short stroke spacers on the spring guide.

Certain parts will be but not many. It's best to purchase them for the specific model than risk them not working

Is this a gen. 3 or gen. 4 glock? I’m wondering what version to go with. Which one has more upgrades?
Its a gen 3 (you can identify it by the mag release). I personally have a gen 3 and it has more upgrade options, but gen 4s have bigger mag releases so if you have smaller hands it could be a better option.

T4NG0 As far as I’m aware it is not TM compatible. Although it is the same shape the internals are likely to be different.
Rainbow8 has different sections for every pistol they stock parts for, might be worth checking on there to see what parts they have 🙂

Internally the frame is stock but the slide is all aftermarket parts. You can get away with keeping some parts stock but you'd have to know if something is causing an issue where that issue is and how it can be fixed.
You'll need a lightweight blowback housing for sure because the stock TM one is heavy and won't allow the slide to cycle. I would start with a new slide and this and see how it goes. From there you'll just need to upgrade parts that are maybe causing inefficiencies.

I'm not sure if these exact parts would be but there are specific upgrade parts for the WE G17 as far as I'm aware. They're available on the rainbow8 website.

Im upgrading mine too, its awesome gun to work with, you can customize everything from barel to nozzle, G18c also work with both CO2 or greengas, I usualy use redgas but be cautious its recomend to have custom parts for redgas

what trademarked slide can I get for a WE G17 Gen 4? I’m desperate for a Guarder TF-141 but I’ve been told that it won’t fit (I’ve also heard it will and even seen a video where someone has a Guarder slide on their WE without fitment issues) Wish I’d just bought a fucking TM at this point.
I'm not entirely sure. The WE nozzles are the only thing I've got experience with and I've tried putting one into a TM Glock. With a TM spec BBU and WE nozzle it causes the slide to sit weird on the frame but I reckon if you had a WE BBU it would probably solve that issue, so I'm assuming it should be okay but don't take my word for it!

Cheers bud. Do you know what the import fees are like? I ordered a maple leaf barrel and hop and a new recoil spring, I did want a zero hammer for the Glock but they are out of stock
@@Mike-yb5is Depends where you live and if customs decide to tax it. I believe I managed to get mine through customs without any fees but I may have just been lucky.
Zero hammer isn't 100% necessary, in fact a hammer bearing with bearings in it might actually be a better option, a lot of people recommend them!

I wanna get a glock airsoft gun but I'm not sure which model to get, I wanna get a urmarex because it's made off of glocks real frame and such, but I'm not sure if I should get a tokyo marui and put a steel frame on it or just get a urarex with a steel frame on it and it gets 300 fps, what do you think I should do?

most parts of airsoft is not good fit, you need a basic tools and skill to modify those parts so it can fit perfectly to your gun, and its the hardest part of airsofter.

A lot of firearms companies license airsoft products. Taran Tactical licensed their design to a few airsoft companies.
