    Hey Andy, I have a countax c60 2015 and my drive/clutching belt (the one that turns the wheels) keeps popping off at the rear. I’ve changed the belt and managed to cut the grass then just as I was about to put it away the belt popped off again.

    Could I just recommend a few things for when servicing the mower...
    Remove the front wheels to check the bearing properly and remove the rear wheels (if possible.) To grease the half shafts.
    Before you start the service run the deck to see if you can hear any bearing noise same for the sweeper...
    There are torque settings for all bolts on the countax decks....
    You should remove the cover fully on the deck otherwise you can't grease the top of the spindles....
    Just some additional info for your video but some good tips from this....
    In ref to the K46 gearbox fitted you should change the gearbox oil in them.... there are 2 drain bolts and the filling point is in front of the fan.... Black ⚫ cap.

    Hello Andrew, I have a C 800 H, I have broken my (engine to cutting deck) Cutting Deck Drive belt, on this very useful and interesting video, you have shown looking at the belt, But Andrew have you done a video for changing the belt, it look something I could do, but it would be useful if I could watch you first. Very many thanks, Stewart.

    • @AndrewFixes
      @AndrewFixes  Před 3 lety

      Hi Stewart, unfortunately I haven't done a video on changing the belt. The main extra bits I think you'd need to do, in addition to what's shown in this video, are to remove the pulley cover on the deck to remove the old belt (or fit the new one if your old one has already flown off) and to slacken the belt tension adjuster before tensioning the new belt. The new belt will likely be shorter than your old one. I'd also check the pulleys are smooth and don't have any play, as both of those things could explain why the old one snapped. I hope you manage to get it fixed.

      @@AndrewFixes Thank you Andrew for replying. Yes I broke a new belt going through some resilient undergrowth! following your very helpful video, I have been able to successfully remove the deck and I have cleaned the 20 years of grass from underneath, I thank you for giving me the confidence to do that. When it stops raining, I'll under coat the deck and grease everything. But Andrew, I have bought a set of suit case scales and I can understand the principal, BUT what do you move and then lock to adjust and set the cutting deck drive belt? I thank you for your time, your videos are extremely informative and accurate. Yours sincerely, Stewart.

      Thank you Andrew, Firstly watching your servicing video gave me the confidence too drop my HGM deck, fit new rear wheels and properly refurb the deck and then put it all back together again (That is the important bit)!
      Now I have another question, My Hydrostatic gear box has stopped working, it started sporadically and has slowly got worse and today it stopped working all together, I was obviously hoping it would be the linkage on the peddles, but sadly no, they are working all the way back to the gearbox. Have you any idea's, answers or questions, What I should be looking out for. I do sincerely thank you in advance for your time and advice. My regards, Stewart.

    hi Andrew would u happen to know how a parking brake works on a c400h I cant find any info on it.my problem is that it wont keep the tractor stationary when its on a hill and I don't have to use it to start the tractor. I know my brake switch is ok because it wouldn't start if it didn't work. is the solution to fixing this adjusting the nuts on the rods? Also great vid I think this is the only vid of doing maintenance to a similar tractor to mine thanks for sharing it.

    Brilliant video, it has helped me find a problem with my own Countax K14. Do you have any idea how to get at the PTO shaft and pulleys? The top pulley on mine has completely come adrift, and I can't work out whether the shaft has broken, or it's some other problem, and I'm not sure how to get at it without completely disassembling the rear end of the machine.

    • @AndrewFixes
      @AndrewFixes  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi Simon, thank you. I thought I was going to need to level the deck on this tractor but it turned out that one of the deck mounting points was bent, which was stopping the deck moving freely and causing the uneven cutting.
      I'll add a deck levelling video to my list for future topics, along with belt tensioning. Thanks for the suggestion.
      Cheers

    Good video. I have trouble with a 2008 C400H that decided to not move late today having spent a hard weekend sorting out paddocks. The engine's fine but the belts underneath are very loose and pressing the throttle pedal makes no difference (not driving the engine). I can hand throttle the engine. So guess my belts are the problem - but trying to find any information on how to do this is impossible - nothing exists. Closest is your video - which is good for when my tractor is working again.

    • @AndrewFixes
      @AndrewFixes  Před 4 lety

      Glad it helped! Yes it sounds like your belts are the problem. The 'throttle' pedal tensions a belt underneath that takes drive from the engine to the hydrostatic transaxle. So I'd guess the belt has either stretched too much, slipped off or snapped altogether. I'll be sure to do a video next time I change a belt. Cheers

      @@AndrewFixes thanks for your video, it helped me a lot to do some maintenance. I've the same exact problem of @lowerorchard on my 1999 Countax C600H. Transmission belt is very loose, but it doesn't seem damaged. Do you think that is better replacing belts or trying to adjust belts tensioning (I still haven't found how to do that, but the manual says it's possible)? Thanks

    Hi Andrew, love your videos on the Countax, I've found them invaluable for basic servicing. I've got a 2003 C600H. A few others have already asked but please please please could you do one on adjusting the belt drive to the blades. I've searched high and low on youtube but no joy. I had a look at the instruction manual and have found the long threaded bar which appears front left above the radiator but cannot figure out how to adjust it. My set up is nothing like the picture in the book, how on earth do you adjust the "trunion"?? If any of your other viewers know please share.

    Hi Andrew , i got a deck like that but I think its from 1999 , I lost a blade somewhere is that called a IBS deck ? ( then i can some order some ) , and when I start it I need to shake it from left to right , must be a lose connection wire somewhere , hahaha great video thanks I can do my own service , great stuff

    • @AndrewFixes
      @AndrewFixes  Před 4 lety

      Hi Rene, glad you liked it. Yes this tractor has an IBS deck. The deck on it now is fairly new, 2016 or 2017 I think, because the old one rusted through. So it might look a little different to yours.
      Hope you find that loose wire! Perhaps under the seat or parking brake sensor? Then again, the one in this video had loose wires to the starter solenoid, so could be that too!
      Cheers

    Hi Andrew, thanks for the video. I have a C300H with an IBS cutter deck. The front bearing has had it and I want to replace it, but for love nor money I can’t remove the pulley. I have tried pulley pullers, hammers and just about everything I can think of but it just wont budge.
    Is there a trick I’m missing? Any info be appreciated.

    • @AndrewFixes
      @AndrewFixes  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Bob, if there is a trick you're missing, then I don't know it either. The only thing you didn't mention is heat, so I wonder if careful application of heat to the pulley would expand it a little and break up some of the corrosion that's presumably holding the pulley in place.
      Hope you manage to remove it.
      Andrew

    Hi Andrew - thank you for the very helpful video. I have a problem whereby the belt driving the blades keeps slipping off. Any idea what might be causing this and how do I tension this belt?

    • @AndrewFixes
      @AndrewFixes  Před 4 lety

      Hi Luke
      I don't have a video about this yet, but I'd check the following:
      -Are the drive pulleys spinning freely and are the bearings good?
      -Any damage to the drive pulleys?
      -Does it have the correct belt and is the belt in good condition?
      -Can the deck move freely on its mounting points?
      -Is the tension bar fitted and held in place with the correct pins and clips? This is the bar going from the front of the deck to the tension cradle under the exhaust.
      -Is the belt tension lever in the tension position (it's under the left hand running board, you see me moving it in the video).
      If all of that is OK, have a look at the belt tension. This is adjusted by screwing the deck tension rod (left hand side, front, next to the exhaust) in or out of the trunnion on the deck tension cradle.
      The Countax website has manuals available that will help www.countax.co.uk/how-can-we-help/user-manuals
      Cheers
      Andrew

      Andrew Fixes hi Andrew, thank you for the helpful reply. Just to double check, does the drive belt tension affect the tension on the belt driving the blades?

    • @AndrewFixes
      @AndrewFixes  Před 4 lety

      No, they each have their own mechanism for maintaining and adjusting tension.
