If you are running a lightweight hood, you should use a set of hood pins to keep it in place. A loose hood is a danger to your vehicle and other vehicles on the road. These Quik-Latch hood pins look clean when installed and keep your hood where it belongs, even at high speeds. Follow along as Bill shows you how to install these pins, and even shows you what NOT to do as he makes a mistake on the installation!

I just got rid of my brand new 4” Cervini hood and went back to stock. I also had these pins but never did install them of course. Thought I was but I am just not a cowl hood pin guy I guess. This is pretty hardcore.
Sweet Car!! That hood looks really good on it too. Great installation video...Thanks!
Great job mate you make it look so easy thank you very much
These quick latches are an excellent product
I have these on my 2022 Mustang GT. They are great. No hood flap at high speeds and the hood is secure. Buy them.
I like those hood pins.
I seen another video with a different way if drill
They marked where to drill and bolt on rods. Then put felt mark on end. Lowered hood onto rods to mark the underside of the hood. Drilled i pilot hole on the lower part (structure) of the 1st layer of the hood. Used a hole saw to cut out diameter from bottom layer. Debur edges. Then marked felt on rods again, carefully lowered hood which now put the mark under the actual hood itself. Drilled a pilot hole on that hood itself, hole saw the underside of the hood itself now, debur, and screw in the hood latch... and was perfect.
Yeah I could’ve sworn saw this??? Could you link it or title it
I used a set of these of the smallest version I could get on my rear bumper and trust me when I say follow the recommendations of installing the pin first then finding out where it hits on the hood or panel as I have misaligned a couple...
As have I lol
That passenger pin. Ouch
Anyone know how to remove the hood open warning ?
I just kinda cringed watching the drilling!
I don’t understand why he would use a 7/16 drill bit, if he was going to use a pilot bit that would be a lot smaller 😂😂
Not my finest moment lol. I followed their instruction and sadly couldn’t undrill the hole. I make mistakes too and wanted oriole to see that.
Yeah when he went through both layers without doing another pilot with the pin angle I just started nodding my head. If the instructions are like that that's terrible.
How exactly did you go wrong with the drilling?
I want to know also. Like what went wrong because he said to drill at an angle and he did but still made mistake? I’m just curious
He drilled at too much of an angel changing the trajection of the hood pin and latch. The reason you mark the hole and drill a pilot hole is because you actually are drilling straight on the hood just at an angle because the hood is sitting at an angle.
He should have made his template and marks for the catch on the top and bottom of the hood.
@@driftitlikeyouownit thank for the explanation I was confused
