The second one was awful.
I mean Venom sucked, the entire thing about Venom was "This movie is garbage it's just that Tom Hardy worked so hard and had such a fun time we had to enjoy when he's doing stuff on screen." it's literally a trashfire next to one guy doing his best. Nobody likes Venom, they just like Tom Hardy.
@@akumaouja4062 the same can be said about this movie, it literally has the same trope and plot of "the smurfs" and "alvin and the chipmunks" movies, it's actors like jim carrey that made it shine, again, just like venom is dumb but it's fun dumb.
In the first film, it was established that Sonic has watched basically everything pop culture or action related.
So probably a Parks n Rec fan.
Also that "Chris Pratt... probably" joke was gold lol.

Sonic actually says “the worst” a couple years back in his guest appearance on ONK, Let’s Be Heroes, voice by Roger Craig Smith. And I believe he is a Parks and Rec fan.
The sonic movies are a godsend tbh. Sonic has been struggling for a while and really needed a win. Thankfully he got 2 big ones.
Now that they’re successful get ready for an onslaught of poorly conceived and rushed content 😄

The Jean-Ralphio reference caught me off guard and I LOVED IT. My friends (and the rest of the theater) couldn't understand why I was laughing so hard.

Bruh that "Clifford the Big Red Rage Monster" was one of the best jokes I've heard in a movie in a LONG time

I laughed so hard at the Ugandan knuckles joke and my friends didn't catch it. When I pointed it out, all of them visibly cringed and got mad that they didn't catch it.
It was confirmed from the director that line wasn't a ref to Ugandan knuckles.

@@JimRaynorRaider could not care less. A sneaky writer had to have squeezed that in there. It may not have been planned by the director, but with rewrites and script punch ups, someone had to know what they were doing.

The thing is that sonic actually has stories with his games so that's why it's easy to make a video game movie with him unless it's anime I don't expect much from other video game movies or even the Mario one coming up.

Basically anything in the first two movies had any relation to the game's stories, nearly every other videogame movie has been much more grounded in the games plots than these have been. Even the fracking Mortal Kombat movie had a plot more like the game than the Sonic movies did lol.
Half Life is a game they could easily make a good adaption of. Give it to someone like the guy who made Dune.
@@velzekt4598 I don't think so because if every other video game movie hand a more solid plot or story they would be getting sequels right now I don't see that. Also like I said the production team has the stories from the sonic games and comics to work off of lots of other vg movies have to makeup something or wing it because they have less story to work with. I mean if they straight up made a normal pokemon movie live action or didn't try being fresh with mk they'd probably do better , but sonic is the one with the sequel going on it's 3rd movie while everyone else is one and done.
@@blackicebrand7142 Games have long since moved on from Pong and Space Invaders. Most games have stories now (hell even many puzzle games often have stories nowadays), and yet most game adaptations still fail. What's more, some of the most successful game adaptations have had stories that don't feature in the games at all, they just make up one of their own.
I'm expecting a Honest Trailer on Homestarrunner now. That bit caught be completely off guard. It was the best part of the trailer.

Yeah, the whole wedding part felt like it stole to much of the spotlight. It didn't really have any affect on the plot aside from the rise of G.U.N.
But you'll have to admit, Rachel was quite impressive (& terrifying) than she was in the first movie!

We got to see some Tails' gadgets which he won't normally use due to being kind.
Should have be shorter. It's like watching cut scene from ROM com movies.
@@ryukishi07thecreator70 Tails' gadgets don't get enough love, the only inventions we really get a feel for are the Tornado, Tornado II, and that little translator thing he uses to communicate with the Wisps. Everything else is just implied in the games, and even the Sonic Boom show relegated almost all of his gadgets to one-off plot solutions or set dressing in his workshop.

It's hard to believe that we from "this trailer is a bad joke" to "this is the best video game based movie series - no joke".
I mean they are genuinely good - not in "so bad it's good" way. And while Jim Carrey in his 90's mode alone would propably be enough for me to watch it, every element works on it's own.
It's still sad that decent action blockbuster is considered in video game based cinema a breakthrough though.

This movie was the best and I couldn’t stop laughing 😂 through all the quips! Since the first movie I’ve watched with my siblings the Sonic Boom series and I’m still playing Sonic Force’s while I was waiting for the 2 movie. I can’t wait to see the 3 movie with the rest of the teammates going against Shadow which would be surprising to see Chris Pratt play him, but don’t let Jim Carry stop being Eggman because he’s the best I love all the characters he plays🤩!
