hey man just some words of advice for fishin for pike is that you should always use a steel leader because if you get a big one no doubt they will bite the line clean off and you'll lose a 5 dollar plus hook right there another word of advice is that pike like to eat smaller pike use hooks that look like smaller pike and last tip is that pike eating season is more in the winter pike taste more sloppy when you eat em in the summer but during the winter they're meat tense up and taste better

When fishing for pike like that you don’t need a steal leader just a mono or flouro leader 30-60lbs

Pike have these weird Y bones, so if you filet them the traditional way you get wrecked. But there’s a way to cut them so you get 3 boneless filets - should be some solid tutorials on YT

I've kayaked this whole "lake", it's mostly less than 3ft deep except for at the north Eastern end. I'm going to have to try for a pike. Nice video.

Need a cover for that rice. You're letting all the steam escape. Cover it, lower the flame - less flame needed to boil water.

Best way to eat pike is make it into fish cakes! Nice catch bud! 🤙🏼

You are one cool young man. If you get up in the Salt Lake County area next summer, give me a holler and I will take you to a brook trout lake where you can catch 2-5 pounders. And I will be happy to let you fillet them and fix them up for dinner. Thanks for another great video.

It’s better to clip the fish to the stringer by popping it through their jaw as opposed to through their gill plate. The metal rubs against their gills and they won’t live as long. Just an FYI for the future. But hey, I’m just a guy commenting on the internet lol

If you catch em in cold water, pike is as good eating as any fish. Not hard to get those y-bones out either for two boneless fillets. Same bone structure as a trout actually, but just more pronounced.
