Bonus tip: if you look at some of the clips you can see they have their peddles level when they are not peddling. This is a good habit to have so your peddle doesn’t get caught on a root or rock.

Keeping your head up and keeping focused on what is coming up on the trail is the biggest tip in my opinion. When you start getting hyper focused on the little obstacles and start staring down at your front wheel, that’s when you make the biggest mistakes like running into a tree or whatever lol. I speak from experience, we should all keep our heads up and looking far down the trail

In my opinion, lower your chest to the bike is one of the most important things. I learned it the hard way. I kept putting one foot on the ground. However, after lowering my chest to the bar when climbing, cornering, and going fast through a lot of small sharp rocks, I enjoy the ride.

Something I learned over the past two weeks - wearing elbow/knee pads helps with my confidence. I guess it's because I know that if I crash, I won't get minced like burger meat like I did before.
Also, I had to "teach" myself to remember to position my pedals horizontally to gain ground clearance. For me, I've been teaching myself to make it a habit of putting them in this position during downhill sections, regardless of how steep it is, and regardless of whether there's any obstacles in the path. Since you can see only so far ahead, already having your pedals in this position keeps you better prepared in case you do unexpectedly come up on a large root, log, or other obstacle.
Obviously, the terrain is going to vary widely depending on where you live/ride, but here in the southern US where I ride, the trails snake through dense forests, up & down steep hills that border a lake, and there's simply no escaping exposed roots of every size. Some descents are literally "staircases" of roots which can make for a pretty jarring ride on the way down, if not a bit unnerving.
But your tips have helped me out tremendously - I just remember to keep on that rear brake, tilt my weight back and above all else.....HOLD ON!!!!!! LOL

    • @sixstanger00
      @sixstanger00 Pƙed 2 lety

@@resurgem It's so weird to come back to this comment 5 years after making it, and realize how much I've advanced as a rider.
In 2018, I started racing XC in my regional series, and placed 3rd overall that year in my division. I've raced downhill races, learned to ride rock gardens, steeper descents, technical climbs, etc. I've since ridden over 14 different trail systems across 3 states.
This year, I won the regional XC championship in my group.
I met other local riders and we've since formed an organization that builds/maintains trail systems locally. I've been invited to a city council meeting about building trails at the city park in my town as well.
Mountain biking started out as a fun pastime for just me, but has since changed my life for the better in so many ways.

    What?
Hey guys. Thanks for the video tips. I'm a bit confused. I've only been riding nine months, but when I read, Mastering Mountain Bike Skills (MMBS), by Brian Lopez and Lee McCormack, they told me to assume the 'attack position,' elbows squared, arms square from the chest, head low over the handle bars, face forward and butt off of the seat, knees bent. During later segments of your video it looks like you are doing what MMBS recommends.
I'm sure both have their place, but could you explain why I might be getting conflicting information?

Ride with a experienced rider and watch the lines they use. When I started mountain biking I learn so much by just watching experienced Riders and then you try and you fail and you try again and you fail and you try again then you'll be teaching somebody one day.. I learned a long time ago to look past your obstacles. Your mind will work through those obstacles and be looking at the next obstacle. start off by looking ahead 10 to 15 feet then continue to move beyond 20 to 25 feet. Always when cornering have the pedal up on the down side you will stop clipping everything with your pedal. Keep riding the more you ride the better you will be.. practice grasshopper.. : )

After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working czcams.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.

I'm twelve and starting mtb and I was wondering how to get my feet to stay in the pedals because they always go up and off when I hit bigger jumps?
Thanks please reply I need some help.

      Patience, first!
You need to consider pulling up AND forwards on the bars while pressing back AND down with your feet while staying out of the saddle. You will eventually find the balance to keep the bike level.
*If you only pull up on the bars and press down with feet the bike will rotate backwards. Likewise, if you only pull forward on the bars and press back on the pedals the bike will rotate forward.
Also, realize that no novice can really learn by someone else nut-shelling a concept to them. Hang in there and practice!

Sorry to bust chops but why can't brits distinguish between EE and E as between and lever?! 1 e is eh sound . 2 e's are ee sound. English is hard enough to learn how to spell without ppl intentionally pronouncing things wrong. Sheesh not Shesh.
