omg, so true. i remember getting some kind of gadget for christmas a few years ago. i dont even remember what it was for, i just remember it was so hard to take apart and clean that I recycled it the second time I used it.
Manni Makes yeah we used to have this great cutting gadget thing when I was little but it was like impossible to clean safely because of how the blades where. Also had this spatula we loved until we realized there was mold ( or something) growing in this tiny area where it connected with the handle. No idea how we were supposed to clean in there with out damaging the spatula.
well you just throw it in the dishwasher and done lol

How about explaining why we need a gadget to do a worse job at cutting an avocado than the knife and spoon that you already own? Wouldn't that be a fun video? Fred Kennedy if you watched some of his other videos you would know, while they may not help you, these gadgets are intended to help people with disabilities and people who may have dexterity problems

Like opening an avocado, people with weak grip strength might not be able to grip a knife that tightly and may end up cutting themselves.
Fred Kennedy …you do realize that he didn't design any of the products he's reviewing in this series, right? Why are you blaming him for other people's crap designs?
The left handed oiled test gives me major anxiety when a blade and avocado are involved
Here is what make that worse:
He only do that to simulate how hard it is for people that usually make their hands all messy in the kitchen and people having problems that make their hands slippery, etc (im one of those person) so there are alot more facing that
All the blades on those tools are blunt, so there's really nothing to worry about this time. In other videos, there have been a couple of occasions where he's decided that the left-handed oil test is too dangerous.
Henry Cooper I don’t have a lot of strength in my hands and now I know what’s safe and makes cooking easier for me. I’m okay with a knife but something like the Avoquado would be so much better.

Ya super funny. The best joke is that this guy is promoting useless garbage that ends up in our landfills, polluting the earth. The real joke is making gadgets that nobody needs. So funny how these products work worse at cutting an avocado than the knife and spoon that are already in your kitchen. Hilarious.

@@fredkennedy8435 You have seen the video right? Where Mr. Formosa said one of the reasons to do a left handed oil test to test if the products help with people with grip and ability problems??? Most "unitaskers" are used for either slight mass production or for people with disabilities. Lolol also it's not necessarily that using these products contribute to garbage but rather materialism, big corporations, and planned obsolescence. The review of these products might actually contribute to less waste because viewers who would buy a certain gadget might see that it is worthless and then not buy it.

The avoquado is actually pretty innovative. It has a pitter that actually works which is great especially if you’re not confident stabbing out the pit
Yeah, the pit stabbing thing never works for me. I usually just scoop it out (somehow it always turns out cleanly for me) but this tool really looks useful. Always just one thing to wash instead of a knife and a spoon
If you have a sharp enough kitchen knife all you have to do is lightly but firmly tap the pit with the blade, and then twist it out. You don't need to stab anything
@@kurtf3441 yeah never stab unless you want to go to the ER. Also if you have a real sharp knife don't hit too hard either 🤣
If you have any knife skills it’s really easy to pit
You dont stab it tho you only need to tap it or use a spoon of you dobt care to smash it
So with the 5-way tool, all the parts of the tool EXCEPT the masher are pretty effective at giving you a mashed avocado.
The mash part was said to ineffectively mash the avocado leaving unbalanced pieces

The problem I found with these avocado tools (my flatmate had all of them, among other specific-fruit cutters/splitters/corers etc) is that they only work well on specific-sized avocados. If the avo is long or small or too big then they are useless.

Same works fo others on other stuff. My boyfriend has that circular apple slicer thing you just push down on top of the apple, well I got an apple with a wonky core thus afterwards we still had to get a knife to cut off the rest of the core..

In this video, Dan is featuring (and therefore promoting) products that work worse at processing an avocado than the knife and spoon you already own. Dan promotes useless plastic gadgets that end up in the garbage, and then in landfills, polluting the earth. Is Dan's commentary worth protecting, or should we maybe rethink this?
Fred Kennedy you’re not wrong about plastic gadgets ending up in landfills, but Dan called all but one of them useless. Also, avocado hand is real and if a gadget can help minimize that issue for those who aren’t skilled, why knock it? I definitely think Dan is wholesome.

The best way is just making a fold in one of the edges and pull the skin off. thats it then cut it as you want but I got to admit these gadgets can keep you entertain

As a Mexican I feel offended that these inventions were even made. All we need is a knife. Not even a spoon is needed.

The extra time and difficulty of clean-up compared to a knife relegates such a device to users not safe wielding a knife. As such all should be designed accordingly.

The point of gadgets designed for anything is mostly for those who have dexterity issues or trouble maneuvering their hands. Not everyone is comfortable with knives
