    Goodnight! I was wondering what this mold is for? I watched the whole video thinking I would have an answer, but I stayed the same. If it's not due to my lack of education, I can ask you and see how the mold is used more trade after it's ready. Thank you very much in advance for your attention and congratulations on the very good CZcams channel.

    If only every business had what you’ve got! Fun, productivity, collaboration, and camaraderie. Caring for others and recognizing their contributions is key to building such a workplace culture. Whether you make guitars or widgets, sell hamburgers, deliver packages, or trade securities, maintaining the simple ideals of mutual trust and simple human kindness can make our endeavors not just bearable, but fun, creative, and sometimes even exciting. You’re a great example for others! Thank you for sharing this video of your process. Best wishes to you and your team!

    Seems like it may be possible to leave the top two pins in the jig, making it a two piece jig with the two bottom pins to put in, but it will depend on how much outward the side pieces of the jig can splay outward so you can pull it down past the two wide points at the top of the body where the neck bolts on. You say you should start with excellence and when I was working I always did that, I started with myself...lol !!

    Thankyou ----Alder ---is it a Common USA hardwood ?--And is it light enuf for guitar bodies?---I build guitars in Africa -we have some gorgeous grained but rather heavy teak !---and many others !

    • @maximumguitarworks
      @maximumguitarworks  Před 8 měsíci

      Actually…looking back at the video…it is the swamp ash you liked. Super light weight (although can vary) and great grain filling and or dying.

  • @CarlWinter-oy8uf
    @CarlWinter-oy8uf Před 8 měsíci

    Thankyou ---can you reveal-- the average weight of your swamp ash bodies-?--is it imported or USA grown ? From Florida everglades ?Does that jig merely HOLD the body as you work on it ?

    • @maximumguitarworks
      @maximumguitarworks  Před 8 měsíci

      My average swamp ash Strat body is about 3.5lbs. It comes from swampy areas…mostly Louisiana and Mississippi.
      The next video (this Friday) will show some of the many functions of the jig we developed in this video.

    You actually could have made this jig in 2 pieces and had it just clamshell open on a pivot, you were just off abit on your joints...

    • @bungalowbill3409
      @bungalowbill3409 Před 7 měsíci

      The pivot could have been close to where your #1 pin ended up on your 4-piece jig though I probably would have moved it up slightly toward the apex of the horn... The pinned joint I would have located around the area of the "O" in "MAXIMUM GUITAR WORKS"... Just my 2 cents...

      @@maximumguitarworks yea, I looked. I didn’t see any available. I don’t have the tools required to build one, and generally speaking things tend be better priced when you buy from the source, and not from someone buying it and then selling it with a markup

    3 pieces:
    1 hinge at bottom, near strap button
    1 hinge at/near each horn point.
    Have 2 hinges always connected. Ex. Bottom hinge and one of the horns.
    Then just wrap it around the body and connect that one final hinge.
    Or………..
    Just make a shell….like a jello-mold….with the necessary guide-holes for strap buttons, jacks, etc.
    Just drop the body into it and drill.
