    I want one of those neck contouring jigs you made! Can you make a kit that would include the CNC'd parts? I think the materials for the sides and the top might be something we can make according to specs.

    Steve, I received my neck hold down jig today. Very nice design. I had time this evening to mock it up with the inline sander setup and compound radius block I got from you. This is great stuff! Thank you! Oh and the personalized jig was pretty slick too. Thanks for being awesome!

      Thanks for the great feedback Russell. These jigs took me WAY long to make...seriously about 3 hours per jig. I'm hoping that I can do them more efficiently in the future. But at least on the first inaugural run I thought it would be nice to personalize them. I have a video recorded on getting the most out of the jig...but just have not had time to finish the production of said video. Hopefully the use is pretty straight forward.

      @@maximumguitarworks it is in my universe. All this new stuff. All the neck templates, all the new jigs combine to basically tackle every process involving the neck. Now all you need is a shaping jig or a neck riser clamp system!

  • @joeking433
    @joeking433 Před 11 měsíci

    I think the best way to radius a fretboard is with a router jig or CNC machine. Using some kind of radius sanding beam is just not that great because you could put more weight on one side, for example.

    • @maximumguitarworks
      @maximumguitarworks  Před 2 lety +1

      That is a great jig. I have been asked to many times to count if I sell them...or the plans. The answer has always been no. It is a time thing. When I made this jig...I built it from a rough sketch with some specs from a guy on a Tele forum. I adjusted as I went to make it what I wanted it to be. Many have made similar things...some have copied mine. Most don't have any form of dust collection. To me...that was a very important feature as it can be a messy process. Maybe some day I will sit down and reverse engineer my jig...then offer it to others.

    It's incredible what you do, everything is amazing!. I have a doubt about the one that is vertical, when you drill the holes for the frets they are at 90 degrees, but the frets are in an other angle, so they will be like "compensated frets". Perhaps I am wrong, my english is not good enough.

    • @maximumguitarworks
      @maximumguitarworks  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you Marcelo. The side dot jig will be great. I have been using a less refined version of that jig for years. You do what the dots 90 degrees to the fretboard edge. If you drill parallel to the frets…the dots will have a slight elliptical appearance. Does that make sense?

    • @msivori67

    • @maximumguitarworks

      I have considered that…which opens the door to some cool anodized colors. However, I have found that the weight of the brass knobs makes potentiometers feel smoother…which is a benefit I would like to keep. Nevertheless, it might be worth doing some aluminum prototypes just to see.

    I'm sorry but I don't care what Steve does on his summer vacations. There is an annoying trend on YT these days - OP's thinking that their ramblings are interesting. Put a title to your post and stick to the subject. You aren't as interesting as you think you are. Pretty boring actually. I'm going back now to see if you ever get to the subject of this video.

      That is interesting that you feel the need to make a person insult because you are annoyed by the trend of CZcamsrs. I would suggest that you unsubscribe so that I don't don't cause you any additional frustrations. I feel the opposite of you...the best part of the hundreds of hours I spend making these (free to the viewer) videos is the relationships I have made with so many people from all over the world. There are awesome people with amazing stories.

      Considering the fact that Steve puts out the most comprehensive guitar building videos for FREE. A course you could pay big bucks for, but you don’t, in my book, he’s earned the right to share. YT content creators develop friendships with their audience to it ok to share. In fact, it pretty impressive to put yourself out there with no net.

      You may not care about what Steve does on vacation... But we really don't care that you "dont' care".. You're nothing more than a wanna be. From the looks of your channel, you've been trying to learn to play guitar for many years. Though doubtful that you've ever gotten beyond the basics.. So now you're going to come and complain about a professional putting out free video's??.. HAHAHAAA
      THA'T'S RICH..
      Well let's see.. how about you worry about trying to fix your adolescent personality issue's. And just to inform you dipshit.. One of the channels you're subscribed to, I helped create content for (for free).. So idiots like you can come complain about not liking what someone else is teaching you for free. Though I again doubt you got far enough to reach the level of musicianship it takes to be able to learn the lessons I helped design.
