That's pretty normal for western saw mills as well.
Saw dust in a big open area like this warehouse isn't going to give you cancer without a massive amount of exposure.
I would be rather interested to see what happens when an earthquake makes all this saw dust gets powdered and fall from the rafters and what happens when it encounters an ignition source.

another 1000 years or more to cut down another one .... choose 'farmed timber' and leave old forest to be old forest for our children to enjoy & inherit.

Its a beautiful Tree and wood and yes it is sad to think of all the years it lived, then men cut it down for profit. There are two sides to everything though and nature provides for us to use its bounty. Wood is one of the most important products for Human use. I owned an Angling Boat and when I caught a good Fish, I often thought about it just swimming around then I put a hook in it and killed it but it never stopped me enjoying a lovely tasty fresh Cod fillet. Its all just the natural cycle of Life, given to us by God.

Man has invented many amazing agricultural giant machine & u gonna tell me they still use an ordinary chain saw??? Paaaleeese! Btw, tragic that man feels they can kill a 1000+ year old tree.

they grow all year long unlike cold climate wood that only grows in spring and summer
and the grotwh greatly depends on the amount of rain...

That first slab being lifted off actually looks like an alligator due to the back texture.

I'm looking at the wire gauge against the weight of the tree and cringing every time I hear the snap of the wire.

That great tree had far more dignity than the puny humans who destroyed it. It’s almost crazy to imagine humans choosing to value these living giants over the $$ they can make off their destruction, yet we did that with the California redwoods, more a century ago.
Why not with these tropical wonders as well ?

@@whatsmolly5741 I guarantee you that the workers in the video did not get rich off that tree, not have the power to decide its fate. The men with the power to decide, who don’t do any dangerous and dirty factory work, DID get rich.
THOSE rich men, are the puny humans I’m talking about.
Government setting aside only the very largest and oldest trees, as the US did with our national parks, deprives NO poor person of a living. There’s plenty of work for them with the other 99.99 % of the world’s natural resources.

@CasperLCat that's literally the entitlement right there!! You can't comprehend the idea of your country putting the economy above some trees.
It's an economic opportunity in an environment where the access to economic opportunity is a fraction of what it is in the first world.

@@whatsmolly5741 I’m trying to educate you about the history of who has profited off the exploitation and ruining of the environment of the 3rd world, an environment that ALL classes must share, and who has been hurt by it.
You’re playing into the hands of the most privileged and lawless multinational capitalists, by imagining that the livelihoods of the underprivileged depend on 1st world interests being allowed to CONTINUE destroying the natural resources of weak 3rd world countries, and their complicit anti democratic regimes, who are hungry for the crumbs of revenue they can beg from the tables of wealthy 1st world corporate interests.

@@whatsmolly5741 You’re playing right into the hands of the multinational capitalists, and their weak, complicit 3rd world antidemocratic regimes, who have for centuries exploited and ruined the natural resources of poor countries, and then, left the world’s poor to live with the devastation.
The disadvantaged do NOT need THEIR environments destroyed, in order to make whatever meager living the corporations dole out to them, as the indigenous poor do all the backbreaking and dangerous work.
They need DEMOCRATIC governments to support their people as they develop indigenous local enterprises, whose people instinctively understand that their livelihoods DO depend on sustainable long-term harvesting of their country’s resources.

I don’t care what part of the world you’re in- when you’re working in a sawmill and lumber yard you better wear steel toed boots and a helmet. Not just a helmet with flip flops or sandals and a base ball cap! That’s crazy dangerous!
