What's your pick?
Q3 is the best
Q3 is obviously the best, but i do like the blacks of the Q pro
not at all
@@oshoturiya
Quest 3 is the best !
They are not a competitors at the moment. Pico4 and G2 should have been there too, to cover it all. But thanks anyway.
I love this video! I was trying to find this information for the past few weeks on Q2 vs Q3 vs QPro and you are the only one to provide it. Thanks for your hard work.
I always love these videos, Tyriel, everything about them, from the actual comparisons, to the music, are always so cool.
Though I know it's a LOT of work, I find myself wishing you'd do a "How Far VR Has Come" video, featuring the Quest 1, 2 and 3. So many folks complain about what VR SHOULD be... even those of us who've been playing with VR for years can forget just where we were a mere 6 or 7 years ago--or even five years ago.
Thanks for all the work you do--your contributions to helping VR grow are not just appreciated, but important.
A most awesome and effective comparison video, so many thanks for your effort and time!
Wow, just wow! Impressive job and thank you very much for such great comparison! 👍 I really appreciate it.
Just got Q3 and played DCS with link cable a while, then gave it to my son and went back to my QP. The LCD of QP is brighter, better color and contract though a little less details because of lower resolution. But QP supports eye tracking that I can enable Quadview in DCS and increase the SS in FR section. At the end the clarity of QP became better with bettet FPS.
It also costs 3x as much. So... yea, good on ya.
3 times? its 100-200 bucks difference@@Somtric
Thanks for making this video. After watching I think the Quest 2 would give me a headache trying to read gauges and spot targets in DCS. Looks like I'll save up for a Quest 3.
Cool video thanks! I got the impression some shots are overexposed, which settings did you use to take the pics ?
Mate; this is THE video everybody should watch. Amazing comparison!!
Thanks TY! This was needed.
I really like your videos. Thanks for your Work!
For those that are curious, Quest 3's clarity comes close to HP Reverb G2, but not quite. Still a larger sweet spot though, which is nice.
So you own both? I have the G2 and hate the limited sweet spot and the fresnel lenses but the Q3's battery life on link cable is giving me pause. If you had neither, but knew what you know now, which one would you choose to buy?
@@MaddogMike-444 I have used Q2, Q3, QPro, G2 and others. When it comes to G2 vs QPro or Q3, the pancake lenses are a game changer. Even going from G2 to QPro, which has lower resolution, feels like a different world in clarity. The lenses are the star of the show here, not the screens. My dad had a G2 for years, mostly for ED, the day he put on my QPro he bought a Q3. My preference now is QPro, mainly for comfort, though I wouldn't recommend it as I think the Q3 will get better support, but so far there have not been any 3rd party straps that take away the pain from my cheek bones.
@@MaddogMike-444 Sweet spot on the q3 is huge, i have an ipd of 62 (so about the middle of the adjustment range) and honestly can set the adjustment anywhere from min to max and not be bothered at all, I can also adjust the headset up and down a lot without issue when it starts to irritate (yeah the headband sucks but can’t decide on a replacement😅). I use the new version of the inniu cable and it does charge, seen it pull up to 24watts, however I think there is something software related that sometimes limits charging either intentional or unintentional
That is one drawback to the HP Reverb G2 is the smaller sweet spot compared to my Oculus Rift S. Higher Resolutions does not mean everything in VR. I have both headsets mentioned in my comment.
The drawback to the g2 is the awful cable that doesn't last long, and hp doesn't restock it, and also Windows just dropped support for Windows mixed reality headsets to don't get a g2@@dathyr1
Great video on the visual tests of the different Quests. It is kind of a battle between the Quest 3 and the Quest Pro, but I feel the Quest 3 overall has the best visual graphics, especially when you do the zoom in shots of the various tests.
I have no Quest products at this time and my last current headset is the Oculus Rift S. I wanted to see how far the Quest has come in the Quest 3 and looks pretty good so far.
Thanks again for your tests on VR products.
Take care.
Great comparison. Thanks 😃
I still got my Oculus Quest 1 and I wish they would have continued using OLED displays for perfect blacks.
Especially in dark (horror) games the immersion there is so much better when you dont have that "gray fog" before you. My brain can always tell this way: "Ah, there is a display in front of your eyes - chill".
I agree, I loved the feeling of the inky black in the CV1. But those god rays and low resolution suck. I use rift s at the moment (dispite the bad contrast) but am anxiously watching the development of the new micro oled technology. I think this is what will make me want a new headset finally.
@Dornpunzel it's the pixel layout. Once we get to QDOLED screens then it will get better.
Best comparison video for the different Quest versions on the internet. I'm soooooo glad you made this ! Thank You !!
Did you switch eyes for the Q3 and QPro? I thought they had the same tilt, but the QPro orientation appears to have a sharp incline left to right vs a more gradual decline left to right on the Q3. The hatching or screen door effect is also way more obvious on the QPro despite the relatively minor bump in resolution.
Thanks Tyriel for this great video !
Looks like you have updated your Quest 3 face cover...
Plz could you tell which one it is ? If 3d printed where get the model ?
Best regards !
my life is waiting for Tyriel to post another through the lenses video
I bought a Quest Pro for $1,000. I wish I waited for Quest 3, but the difference isn’t huge. At times in this comparison, the Quest Pro was clearer. The best upgrade with Quest 3, IMO, is the lack of aliasing / increase in resolution. It didn’t make all angles of all images clearer, but it did remove all the jaggies you might see in Quest Pro. It’s excellent, it’s the better choice between the two, but it’s not enough to buy a Quest 3 as an “upgrade” if you already have the Pro.
As many said, if you play PCVR or have QuestGameOptimizer, you can bump the resolution yourself in the Quest Pro. But for standalone VR, Quest 3 can push QGO even further and will run native games better, without question.
shouldve bought an index
@@N1ghtZz maybe. I was looking for a wireless standalone though. I wasn’t interested in PCVR until after the fact.
Great video. Thanks!
Could you elaborate what settings (resolution) did you use in the Oculus software for testing? Any additional Steam supersampling?
Thanks for yet another TTL video! I'm hoping to upgrade to Q3 from my original Quest 1soon.
I have all three Quests, and while I LOVED the OLED on the Quest 1, I hate everything else about it, mainly how insanely uncomfortable it is. Believe me, it was a huge jump from the 1 to the 2, but going from 1 to 3 is going to seem incredible, except for black levels.
He is such a fun person to watch. 100% subscribed.
Hello, do you know whether the Quest Pro also benefits from the "Enhanced Edition" of Red Matter 2 in terms of quality like the Quest 3
Question…. Is it possible that with the more powerful processor using airlink in the quest 3 that in time that it would get better image quality over the quest pro?
Is the whole test done with max supersampling or at factory default resolution?
Best VR comparison in the world!
Looking forward to the pico4/... pcvr comparison
Great review. I'm really tempted to go for the Quest 3. The graphics look the best out of the three of them.
now its time for a requst 3 vs reverb g2 or aero through the lense to see how it compares. still looking for someone that can compared the ps5vr2 SDE visability with the q3 SDE
Looking forward to comparing against the next set. Crystal, big screen, G2
Excellent video.
Hi, Tyriel! One question: Do you use manual exposure for the pictures? Same time, same aperture for all of them? That would be the only way to really appreciate the black levels on each of them.
Yeah blacks and contrast seemed little consistent to me. But it did show me the difference in fidelity of my q2 to new q3 for pcvr. I still may wait for the next one as I have to get so many accessories for these things to make it worth it. And feel haven't had my prescription lenses for my q2 that long and that was huge game changer. I may wait for next one to hopefully be oled. I don't mind the old lenses cause less screen door but the less in focus sucks. But yeah think I'm waiting for oled. They did it before why not anymore?
Probably the best comparison video I've found so far.
The quest 3 has a very noticeable increase in gamma.
Probably because pancake lenses can be a bit dimmer so the increase in backlight causes greying of blacks and some ghosting in dark scenes.
This will get better with more accurate and fine local dimming.
Even still the internal reflections when dealing with such high brightness levels of whites and brights is going to lead to ghosting and haze.
Can you make a comparison with non-Quest headsets? Quest 3 vs. Reverb G2 vs. Varjo Aero or Pico 4 for example?
Love the music cool vibe
Quick question.
Will the quest 3 use GPU resources than a quest 2 both running same resolution?
Reason I ask is quest 2 has a single display whilst quest 3 has 2 displays.
I have all 3, definitely I would pick Quest 3 for PCVR, better resolution and FOV plus performance at decoding frames, the local dimming not worth it
Never owned VR headset. Ordered Pimax Crystal Light. Thanks for video. For me footage is very clear to describe. not sure if it's same when you put VR headset on and look with your own eyes. Quest 2 got the most blacks. Quest 3 is the sharpest. Quest Pro has very visible screen door effect but even better sharpness than Q3 in some games and better blacks than Q3.
i still have the g2 v2 for pc vr and i dont know if the quest 3 will be an upgrade i think im going to still stick with the g2 v2 for now but im still going to get the quest 3 to replace my quest 2 with it
every-time a quest comes out i check this channel to see if there is a Thru the lenses vid 🙏❤️
Thanks Tyriel my pick is the quest 3 that Passthrough is winner for me right now I use the browser a lot more nowadays
What about a comparison of the LCDs on Quest 3 vs OLEDs on something like PSVR2 and Bigscreen Beyond?
Thanks for that vid.
hi Ty, have a Q2 and the Q2 quality in AC footage shows much worse then what I see in AC in the Q2... (but I have it at 72hz and on highest possible render resolution )
What render resolution did you set the Q2 ? And which one is the Q3 set to ? (does it also allow to bump up the resolution from the default one?)
I'm guessing you left both on default (but what is the default resolution setting for the Q3 ? )
It would be great to see the Q2 max resolution setting, compared to the Q3 (also on max resolution setting)... and knowing Meta they kept it kinda low for the Q3 since the battery dies already quickly and it might overheat...
i dunno
Great video as always Tyriel.
Now for the competition comparison..... Quest 3 vs Pico 4 vs Reverb G2 (these are all in the "more affordable" category, agreed, comparing the Q3 to super high end HMDs would be interesting also, the Varjo Aero, the Pimax Crystal and the Bigscreen Beyond, but these 3 HMDs are on the "Way more expensive" end of the spectrum.
Thank you for doing what you do. :)
I thought that's what he would do first. I'm not sure I see the point of Quest 2 vs Quest 3 vs Quest Pro. We know what to expect there.
Are you guys paid shills or something? No one has bother either one of those two other sets.
So I did a test with the Quest 3 and G2... It really depends on what setting you use for the Quest 3. Wired link at 960Mbps is very close to the G2 in most scenes, except in heavy foliage scenes where you will notice some minor visual artefacts. G2 is much brighter and the colours feel slightly better, but the Quest 3 has better edge clarity. At default 100% scale in SteamVR the G2 renders at almost 3.3x display resolution (3.8k x 3.8k), so you need to max out the resolution scale in the Oculus app to match source resolution, otherwise the Quest 3 will be Rift S quality :(
I cannot get airlink to function consistently at high but theoretically possible bit rates. Virtual Desktop works well, but you will clearly notice compression artefacts in noisy scenes (e.g. foliage, a lot of colour gradients), even at 500Mbps. For most games with stylish graphics it should be sufficient, but if you like sightseeing in modded Skyrim VR etc. wired is probably preferred.
I grew up on cathode ray tube tv so any of these headsets will do just fine. Having said that, I do have the Q3 and it's the best gadget I've ever owned.
What about the foggy bloom effect on the Quest 3? In dark backgrounds with bright elements, it looks like you're watching through very dirty glasses. I've checked the internet, and it's still not clear if this can be a defect or a normal side effect of the design of the pancake lenses. Did you observe such a foggy effect? It's something I don't have on my Quest 1, Quest 2, or Reverb G2. But otherwise, it's a very good headset..
Is it just me or is the Quest 3 image switched around with the Quest Pro image at 5:55? Because if you look a few moments ago at 5:18 at the dashboard scene you can see exactly what I mean.
Can you compare the meta quest 3 and the occulus rift S please ? :)
Been waiting on this one, AWESOME. Thanks for doing this TY! I'm seeing alot of people who are considering upgrading from a Rift S to a Quest 3. Since you mentioned you're making another comparison video, would you consider also adding the Rift S as a comparison?
The quest 3 is really better, if you have a good PC and router
@@jeanfredericely185 Makes sense, I just wanted to see if its was $500 USD better 😁
The Quest 3 is dramatically better in every way - and since you're coming from the Oculus unit with the worst screen (by far), even the black levels will be better. But being wireless is huge, not worrying about cables, having on pass through and being able to walk around with your house with it on, even the mix reality stuff turned out to be way better than I was expecting. If you're coming from the Q2 to the Q3, like I did, it's iffy, but from the S to the Q3, yeah, that's a huge leap well worth the money. While PC streaming is fine, the Quest comes alive when you're playing stuff native - so don't dismiss that for PCVR, even if it looks better, the lack of wires and using all the Quests abilities, really makes it worth it.
The only warning that I have will to give, is the fact that CERTAIN PCVR games will simply look worse due to the way the PC is sending information to the headset. Remember, instead of display port its using USB C which isn't nearly as powerful. Most games wont look any different however and the only ones you might have to look out for are most just open world VR games that may have a lot of foliage for example. The worst games that I've tested have been No Mans Sky and Skyrim, especially modded Skyrim. No matter the graphics setting, looking into a grove or any group of trees and flora immediately makes the whole image slightly grainy.
@@wingsoficarus1139 Thanks for the valuable info. The two games you mentioned are my favorite so it's especially appreciated.
I wonder if the Quest Pro headset with its eye tracking would fare better now that Steamlink supports Foveated rendering so it's working with alot less data?
Is it just me or does the quest 2 heave better blacks in this side by side comparisons how is this possible q2 has LCD displays not oled?
So awesome!, can't wait for Bigscreen Beyond vs Quest 3!!!
Vs pico 5 ! ^^
i had a quest 1 for pc vr for long time quest 2 was not enough of an upgrade for me but i just got the quest 3 and OMG this is what a vr head set should be !
Im on quest 2 now the quest 3 don't look like a big enough leap for me and waiting for quest 4 lol
Music fits. We are back in an 80s scenario. VR today is like 8-bit Nintendo back then. Amazing at the time but nothing compared to where the technology went. Can't wait to see what the VR equivalent of a PlayStation 5 is in 40 years.
Has the Quest 3 PCVR been compared to the Bigscreen beyond?
watching these once in a while since dk2
I had a quest 2 a few months ago and returned it. It just didn't seem like a big enough step up from the original Rift. This however, Text is actually readable. Think I'm about to go out and get the 3.
You won’t regret it at all. It’s so clear and crisp, with Virtual Desktop AV1 encoding there’s absolutely no image artifacting or anything. As long as you already have a good PC and router to run the high res, you’ll be great.
Keeping my quest 2 for now . I havent had chance to use for PCVR yet as thats my next expense , upgrade my PC to one that can hanlde it lol . I use rift s for PCVR atm but want wireless 😊
I want to work in PCVR, but Varjo Aero and Beyond won't ship to Brazil. I was hoping you'd put the 3 headsets head to head.
Do you have Quest 3 Link VS Rift S thanks
Will we see an Apple Vision Pro vs Quest III comparison when it finally releases?
Why do the black levels look so much better on Q2 shots than the Q3 ones, such as Elite Dangerous towards the end of the video? Is this really representative?
Tyrel . Labels in your video say contrary to your claims of darker image in space for quest pro. Your video at 00:11:47 shows it for middle video labeled quest2. This is where I realized you probably set labels in wrong order and middle one is Quest Pro and last one Quest2.
Looks like camera is doing color correction and white balance adjustment. You need to turn off those functions to get the real image. I have all those devices and clearly Qpro has better contrast and color saturation
Why quest 3 colors look so washed out, is there a way to increase contrast? Also after the first clip quest 2 and pro samples looked switched or mistaken, quest 2 having the better contrast and colors of the 3.
are you not using the local dimming feature in Quest Pro?
very much looking forward to seeing Pico 4 vs Quest 3
I'm holding out for Index 2 as my original Index has served me well.
Why does the Q3 look so much more washed out in ASSETTO CORSA than either the Q2 or QP? Did you use different LCD or graphic settings?
Did you lock exposure for the capture ? If you don't do that, it's impossible to really compare the brightness and contrast of the headsets. Good job otherwise !
Good content. I’ve tried the Q3 and the QP very recently. QP quite comfortable. Q3 terrible for me. Good thing about Meta is there return policy is excellent so no harm in trying either.
in terms of comfort or visual or both?
@@swifty1969 just comfort. It’s very light.
I hated the fit of QP
You could get a different head strap if comfort is the main issue.
@@Ballissle I went Pimax Crystal in the end. Never looked backed.
Hi. At what resolution are you doing your tests? You have a 4090. It would be curious to see how far can you push the supersampling on those screens. In some of your shots the resolution seems equal between Q3 and QPro, and we know that Q3 has better resolution and should resolve more detail. Thanks.
I also have a 13900, 4090. In Steam 150 percent resolution in Quest Pro is 3548 x 3448 per eye resolution. I ended up returning Quest 3 so I can't remember the exact numbers but it was around 3360 x 3650 I think. These are the optimal values Steam applies to correct barrel distortion and apply super sampling so that's what I've always used.
@@rangerkayla8824 this post reads a bit confused, so without knowing you, I'm going to go out on a limb and sayTyriel's expertise is going to be greater and he knows how to set up consistent, repeatable conditions fot these tests.
There's a few points where what you're saying doesn't make sense. Maxing out a Quest 2 won't give a better image than Quest Pro or Quest 3. I understand the point you are trying to make. Run the Quest 3 at a low detail, low resolution setting and it will look worse than running a Quest 2 heavily supersampled on high settings. That is true, but supersampling cannot change the quality of the lenses. The image will still degrade rapdily away from the centre, and there will still be problems with glare, godrays and distortions caused by those fresnel lenses, so you'd easily be able to tell which was which.
Likewise, your claim that AV1 makes the colours better than Quest Pro shows you don't really understand how technologies work.
I assume you running AV1 on Virtual Desktop, which by default has a colour enhancement toggle enabled. This just effects the amount of contrast and saturation added to give things more pop as you say, it doesn't improve the colour reproduction as LCD is using 8bit displays and still only has 16.7 million colours, versus the QLED panel of Quest Pro , which are 10bit, capable of repdroducing 1 billion colours. The quantum dot layer in the Pro allows for greater dynamic range and contrasts and a more effective, and more importantly, accurate reproduction of colour. This is not the same as increasing colour saturation and contrast to make images pop more.
Finally, neither the Quest Pro or Quest 3 offers significantly higher quality visuals than each other. The Quest 3 has a relatively modest resolution bump, 3 PPD is certainly not significant by any metric. It also has better encoding capabilities which can result in improved performance. The Quest Pro meanwhile has better quality displays, with more accurate colour reproduction, better dynamic range, and real blacks. How noticeable this is compares on the game. Having owned both, its most noticeable in games like MSFS, flying in live weather and sunsets where the Pro's colours and blacks excels, and much less noticeable in other games, where the higher resolution and reduced screendoor of Quest 3 over Pro is what will be more apparent.
What matters most of all will depend on the user and what games they are playing.
Tyriel's analysis was pretty much spot on.
@@rangerkayla8824 that's entirely fair. Both headsets have different strengths and weaknesses for PCVR and it's not wrong to favour one over the other. I can understand reduced SDE and slightly more PPD being important factors.
Nobody is looking to argue with you for the sake of argument.
@@rangerkayla8824 no argument from me there, I don't use wireless PCVR so I can't comment. If you've tried both and the Quest 3 was better for your needs that's perfectly fine. 👍
@@rangerkayla8824 haha I certainly don't dance anywhere, including VR. I play MSFS mostly. It is a beast to run properly but you should still get good performance with a 5800X3D and 4070.
It's a dangerous and expensive spiral if it grabs you though. I've spent a fortune on a new PC, flight peripherals and software just for that sim.
Can You make another video please Tyriel? Pico 4 vs Quest 3......
Great comparison. Can we also get a "Through the Lenses" for the Passthrough feature? A lot of people are divided regarding the quality of passthrough for Q3. Some say it is great while others say it is average and unable to use/phone texts properly the way they advertised. Personally it is uncomfortable for me to use my Q3 to send a message to anyone due to blurry texts and have to really struggle to figure out what I wrote. I might as well remove the headset and use my phone.
I agree with passthrough. You basically need to be standing outdoors in sunny weather for it to look any good. Indoors and it's grainy and lower resolution. At night is the worst and pretty much unusable. Wish there was some way for people to easily verify their light conditions, for example with a Lux light meter. But most Lux apps are inaccurate, so you really need a professional meter.
It's in the other "Through the lense" with Quest 3 already.
Just buy a controllable led smart light. So you can set it to max brightness when using the pass through then dim it for use outside the headset. Works for me.
My experience with pass through is quite good, much better than I was expecting. As for reading text on a phone or my watch, it really depends on how I'm wearing the Quest, what angle I'm using for comfortable. For example, if I have it so it's mainly on my forehead only, a lot of time the text can be blownout - but if I have it more strapped to my face directly, so I get pressure all around, including on my cheeks, the text is basically crystal clear. This isn't totally to do with the focus, as other areas of the screen are focused the same either way, I think it's just how the light is hitting the cameras, I think. Obviously you need to make sure your IDP is set correctly as well - if you haven't done so, I recommend downloading one of those free IDP phone apps that measures your eyes and gives you the exact number to use. If that's off, that can make everything look soft/blurry/out of focus.
Overall though, the pass through I've found mostly useful for walking around and using the mixed reality stuff. The idea is mainly just so you have awareness of what is around you with the ability to do an occasional text or read your notifications, etc. For me, that works just fine, if I have the headset on tightly.
Also, it could be related to your strap. I had better luck with the Elite strap than with the one that comes with the Quest. I ordered another strap to try as well as I don't think the Elite works as well with the Q3 as it did with the Q2. It's more comfortable, but just doesn't seem like it fits as well, like it moves more, which again can affect the focus. So just my personal experience so far. And I've owned every Oculus unit since DK1, and been using VR since the 90s. Personally I think the Q3 is pretty dang amazing, better in every way over the Q2, even if it's not quite the generational leap I'd hope for.
@@pixxelpusher This is an exposure issue regardless of pricing. If your gonna have darkness in the background or corner of the shot, the whole thing is gonna look more grainy regardless if the camera is $2000 or $500 dollars. Even the most expensive cameras that do happen to also automatically adjust ISO aren't going to be perfect.
Its especially noticeable if you are in a dark room with an extremely bright light(your phone) right in front of the cameras; of course its going to look horrible. You cant expect a VR headset with passthrough as a secondary feature to excel at this. Especially considering that Meta sells the product at nearly the same price as production cost.
I'd love to see the eyechart comparison using 2560 or 3072 texture resolution settings via SideQuest
based on my experience the text is very clear, the first device that is truly usable for working in VR
Can you do this THROUGH THE LENSES Quest 3 vs Apple Vision Pro
ehhh, they all look decent apart from fov but ive tried quest 2 link to pc both wired and wireless and they look fine standing still but if youre in a complex scene n moving the compression really shows up bad like a youtube video sorta compression
I got already Q3 and using it for a while, and i like it. The face padding need an update and i am still waiting for good one. Got already other 3rd party solutions for controllers and headstrap.
Yes, the Q3 facecover is tragically uncomfortable...
A Q3 vs G2 vs Pico 4 comparison wouldve made more sense (imo).
agreed
Yep Quest Pro is something ridiculous - with screens worse than Q3 and price twice high
Also XR Elite
agreed
Watch the video.
Good choice of Sims for the comparison!
i only used rift first headset and i love vr .. now i want to buy quest 3 and i have 3080 to play on pc also as a standlone .. my question is .. will i notice a huge difference in quality and resloution ??
of coruse
Despite the color and shapeness as a whole I prefer the q3. Ill have to find a q pro on sale some time and really try it out to see the difference.
I can get only 2Gbps when using link on my Quest 3, That's with an RTX 3070 and i7 5820k. So, all in all, the dream I had of retiring my Rift S and using the quest 3 for PCVR as well as stand alone is all but dead. I'll try another cable and install a PCI-E USB 3.2 adapter in my PC. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them!
what about in comparison with HP Reverb G2?
Would be good to see the video. Personally owned both, and all I can say is that the Quest 3 lenses are a game changer. Even with G2 having higher resolution, the Q3 looks better, and I don't also feel the need to hook up to PCVR.
So why are the blacks better on the quest 2 shots. It also seems like it’s a little bit darker but also seems to have deeper blacks? I don’t know.
The same reason it suffers from heavy color bleed in the DCS comparison shots (the gauges turn green lmao), it's software trickery and/or shitty decoding that limits the color range thus creating the illusion of increased contrast.
Chromatic aberration is greatly improved!
Still keeping my Q2 and wait til 2024 they might release a cheaper headset or a new affordable OLED as i dont notice much of the lenses issue
2024 Oled y más barato????. 😂
I Had Quest 2 (i have 71.5 IPD)- it was pretty blurry but 'finally just OK'
2:28 As i saw that i think about my comeback into VR :D
First time as i said 'Niiiiceeeee' on HMD review 'through lens' view
BUT Quest 3 seems to be 'bloomy' and a bit bleached
Quest Pro seems to be outstanding in terms of color reproduction and clarity
I am happy that LENS smudges seems to be reduced greatly- This was pretty annoying for me in dark scenes
Thanks a lot
Please test also vs. INDEX + Reverb G2 + Quest1 (for OLED and see the years of development)
Thanks a lot! 😀
INDEX and REVERB are Dead, no use testing them, just like PSVR1 and QUEST 1.
@@mitcherny6965 If you want to upgrade or not, you have to compare. INDEX, G2 and Q1 arent dead because they are some of the best PCVR headsets for now.
So Q3 is better cause there is no blur like in Q2?
Thank u so much
Doesn't the quest pro offer foviated rendering?
I see clouds in the Q3. Could that be a reflection of my eyes or face?
are you gonna do a pico4 vs quest 3?
Thanks for your time. The Quest 3 is the best so far. On the Video Quest 2 looks great but Quest 3 is far better in real life!
compare with pico 4? :(
For those wondering about the contrast... I think this video is accurate. I have the 2 and 3 on hand and I've been very disappointed in the quest 3 contrast. The panel has the contrast of a cheap insignia LCD. Vader immortal for instance is a sea of grey on this headset. The quest 2 is no OLED, but it's better than the quest 3 in this regard.
Also, the quest 3 brightness control seems rather limited by the terrible native contrast of the panel. Turn it down below 40% or so and it becomes unusable.
whaaat ? that's very sad, the contrast is already so bad on quest 2... I read that the quest 3 panels should have better contrast, which must make sense.. so if it's really worse, i'm disappointed about it and maybe not buy it
@@el_taiito5492 it's better than quest 2 contrast but not by much
Compare it with the Pico 4 please.
