Um... where is Stronghold?
LawlessSentry Yeah not even an honorable mention.... I dont get it.
Nomatophobicane ikr
LawlessSentry Yeah, very nice game indeed. But idk, top 10? Maybe top 20.
Matheus Moreira I dont know about you guys. But i think Stronghold deserves Nr. 1 spot. :P
LawlessSentry Exactly. Wonderful game series. But not #1. I have not played quite a few games on this list but I think Dawn of War: Soulstorm is my #1. Stronghold however is still amazing but more or less and honorable mention.
Age of Empires 2 is my personal favourite strategy game of all time, 17 years on and it's still an enduring little bastard ;)
same for me, played something like 1500 hours of aoe 2
i like aoe2 a lot but the first one is for me that was first pc game i ever bought :) and was a blast
The 3rd is quite disappointing
pj thompson Indeed it was
why was age of empires 2 better then 3?
The moment Age of Mythology was mentioned, my brain immediately said "prostagma"
now it's stuck in my head
I feel you
khorsos
Skeeeeepan
Vulume!
The Age of Empires franchise is why I made straight As in history as a kid.
Same here
And people say that video games make you dumb.
@@tosankhyllep3963 Well, I learn alot. Video Games can make you smarter.
Me too
Mayans did not have horses. Only runners. They were the last picks in terms of civilizations. I also read the Pulitzer winning Guns, Germs and Steel to understand about those conquistador. 100 Spaniard men on horses killing 10000 natives.
who else saw Battle for Middle Earth and was like "OH MY GOD, YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!"
+Nicholas Przeslawski Parcially....but i also thought it shouldnt have been just a honorable mention, its just so...epic.
Agreed
+Nicholas Przeslawski I was gonna pitch a fit if BFME2 didnt atleast make honorable mention
+Nicholas Przeslawski Try edain mod.... it will blow your mind www.moddb.com/mods/edain-mod
Shaji Saavedra The Edain mod is pretty good, but the dev gave up before a lot of it was translated out german which made it a bit confusing.
Age of mythology all the way!
Arkantos Awaken! If a squeal could be made for the game they should include Aztecs, Chinese and Romans. Unfortunately the company that made Age of Mythology went out of business.
RainintheBrain D: i didnt know that. I loved there games so much. Im playing AOM right now.
totally agree with you there, age of mythology is my all time favorite strategy game.
RainintheBrain there is a another version of it on steam, it has better graphics, day/night feature and bonus stuff!
RainintheBrain I know that feel of dissapointment when I read Ensemble Studios went out of the business. I had the little hope that they would came out with another expansion including aztecs and chinese/japanese (any of them having enough mythology to take units and stuff). Although I love Age of Empires saga as well, I would have put AOM instead of AOE because (and as very personal opinion) AOM had a bigger impact when it came out because 1-Greek, egyptian, nordic and atlantean civilizations 2-Great graphics for those times and 3-Hell yeah legendary monsters and mighty heroes as units!
Red Alert 2 and Yuri's revenge was something that i have played 3-4 times over without getting bored. It was an awesome fun game... and "Tanya" was awesome... wouldn't you agree?
Agreed stranger.I am thinking to play again in June 2021
@@mukhlisgaming2547 try out the mental Omega mod
@@mukhlisgaming2547 You thinking?? I'm planning!
@@jounshon I think speeder really outdid himself with mental omega....Its like a stand alone game...perfect successor to yuri's revenge....and with foehn coming in, its story gets really good
My favorite genre. I hope it sees a resurgence someday.
It's 4 years later. How did this comment age? I finally got into the Total War games. Love'm
Im hopeing it will to i love the rts genra.
No signs of Battle Realms... In my opinion the most underrated RTS game ever.
TheSharpZzHD that was a great strategy gem. Unfortunately it never gained the popularity it deserved. It was truly innovative for its time!
TheSharpZzHD yeah seriously, its a good game
TheSharpZzHD Battle realms was way more fun than fucking WC3.
+TheSharpZzHD yeah i know but i like empire earth the 1st one that is that game kicked arse
+TheSharpZzHD This is so true. Played it many times and it had a good story. I wish it was popular.
Age of mythology all the way
+BubberDuck 999
MrShirial wonders*
+BubberDuck Prostagma
+BubberDuck All Age of Empires game except 3
+BubberDuck Supreme Commander Forged Alliance*
I think Empire Earth should at least be included in the honorable mentions.
Totally agreed!!!
agree
So should any of the early Anno, Settlers or Stronghold games.
Aldo Costagliola i know I’m late but yes! Empire earth was soo good! Oh and of course empire at war that was a great game
Definitely!
My TOP 3:
1. Command and Conquer - Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge (I spent many many hours playing online as a kid. Great memories)
2. Command and Conquer - Generals: Zero Hour (another great game from C&C series)
3. Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War (great game) / Age Of Empires II
Skyliner89 generals shockwave and yuri revenge is the best
I am still playing it until now online everyday
Donald J Trump you are right trump
Where is Stronghold?
+1vs1? Particularly Legends.
+Evan Czarkowski No crusader was the best out of the series
Hahahahahahahahahahahah no.
-Mediocre multiplayer,
-Stupid "innovations",
-The AI was shit,
-The visuals were basically copy-and-paste of the original,
-Audio was crap,
To name a few problems.
It has my least favorite campaign of the entire series.
I'd say Crusader Extreme, but lets face it. No one liked that game anyway.
Plus, IT HAD no campaign.
Stronghold crusader is very good :)
#BringBackRTS
Still sadly waiting for WarCraft 4...
Wait for blizzcon they should normally anounce warcraft 4 or sc3
They really anounce they were planning on one of those. Get infos before sending blind hate
Here waitin for Age of Empires IV...
me too ikr...Apparantely they canceled it :(
3:44 goose bumps when I hear that siren and Hell march 2
reminds me of behing a kid, i thought it was so cool when i finally learned how to download the original from limewire!
*kirov reporting*
@@neva7237 i though soldiers where dropped by kirovs xD
Empire earth was an amazing game but was sometimes incredibly difficult to end. It also had one of the longest match times and highest population caps.
The soundtrack and sound effects are what made it truly amazing.
If you thought that was toph try the gangsters franchise.
Gangsters organized crime wich was the first one was prety toph.
Gangsters 2 was even harder as it was story driven.
Try those see if that may change youre minde.
You must construct additional pylons.
Spawn more overlords.
Never know what hit 'em
you must place that in a power field.
want a piece of me, boy?
identify target.
Where's Empire Earth? You shittin me? Oh well guess you cant have everything.
***** man i had to scroll down waaay to long before EE even got mentioned :(
Bananana I feel you bro :(
+Poorgunz Empire Earth was great, I loved it. I still fire it up sometimes. Way better than Age of Empires.
Why would I? I just got upset because Empire Earth is a great game. I don't criticize Them for not putting it on the list even if it sounded like it.
All hail EE!! Although Ill admit the offline experience is pretty bad. Online is the greatest game ever tho!
Awesome! Well done walkthrough! I loved it! Everything was so impressive and breathtaking! Thanks for the great video!
Don't forget Dune 2000 from Westwood Studios. That was the game that made me fall in love with RTS games.
Man I still play that game on my PS1. Love it!
I miss Red Alert 2. It was such a good game
You can actually play the original for free online. Such a nostalgia trip.
I still have the first
I just got done playing the campaigns for the 50th time, never gets old!
Red Alert 2 is fucking amazing
*****
I don't have the full collection, but I have the first decade (1st 12 games)
I used to love C&C Tiberian Sun so much when i was young. And of course the privous titles to that.
Same here!
Joden Paolo Peroy But... My computer at that time, when it came out, couldnt really play it well. Picked it up again a few years later and had just as much fun as if it was newly released ^^
You can play TS online again when downloading it from C&CNet5.
You can't play missions when you did but you can make your own maps.
( if you want to map and you don't know how to get the pack )
+Claes Petersson It was my very first pc game ever , ive spent many weeks playing TS in skirmish mode. After came red alert 2 and those were the last two epic strategy games ive enjoyed (maybe Age of empires as well). I still have tiberian sun and red alert 2 which i play occasionally . Ive downloaded age of aggression last night and ill give that a try.
+Claes Petersson I never liked the genre much... a year ago i palyed CC Kane's Wrath... it felt really competitive .. fairly the best CC game imho... kinda started to like genre... will try out SC2 soon :D
Love Homeworld. It was the first game that I learned how to do very simple modding. Nothing like putting capital-ship weapons on your fighters!
Supremme Commander, Homeworld, Rise of Nations & Company of Heroes were really innovative. Starcraft2 felt like a regression to Red Alert 2 style games.
Stronghold and Cossacks at least should've had an honorable mention.
I agree, Cossacks definitely should have been mentioned. Never played Stronghold so can't comment on that I'm afraid
I believe Stronghold was more of a tower defense game.
+Sight Beyond Sight Yeah you're actually right in a sense. But it's debatable.
+muserock2367 Cossacks is an often forgotten classic.
no it isny if it was then how would you explain troop controll and castle managment all tower defenses are place troops and defend was stronghold ever like that?
Empire Earth !!!
Empire Earth !!!
Empire Earth !!!
+1
YES EXACTLY
*Menu music plays*
Compagny of Heros is an absolutly mindblowing great game.
I have played it since 2006 and still do. So way ahead of its time there still is no other rts that comes close.
Amazing gameplay, great balance and maps maps maps!
Thank you relic!!
Rise of Nations and Age of Empires 2 are the best for me. Simplicity and Historical gameplay truly gold
Dude Age of Mythology was my childhood! I loved that game
trojan horse for sale
lol that and o canada, for lazer bears
My favorite came from the expansion. Titanomachy
lol just spamming titanomachy to have like a billion titans was so fun!
I remember using events that require a certain thing to happen in order to trigger to build up the biggest army and just destroy the opposition. Example: The one where you're supposed to run from the Giants... I killed them all legitimately, not a single man lost.
C&C: Generals Zero Hour
Just the whole generals series was better than red alert. Hell even tiberium wars was better
+Chris Herrera nope .play all series.red alert 2 in the top following with zero hour
Tib sun is my favorite in the Westwood group, then Zero Hour
+Zachu89 DUNE II is king of all.. the rest are it's bitches
+Zachu89 I AGREE BUT campaign let it down massively blame EA
I completely agree with your list except that I would have add Command and Conquer General or at least mentioned
Gonna give a shoutout to “Stronghold: Crusader”
No Stronghold Crusader?
Keep it scrubs.
+Nicholas Longinsky Crusader was GARBAGE in comparison to Legends.
Evan Czarkowski Honestly, your life is garbage if your prefer Legends to Crusader, m8
Legends brought SO many additions to the Stronghold series. Why more people dont love that is beyond me.
And dont even GET ME STARTED on the atrocity that was Crusader Extreme.
It's the worst game I've ever had the displeasure of putting myself through. Only played it for 2 days before tossing it out.
People think Stronghold 3 killed the series? Nope.
Stronghold Shit Atrocity killed the series beyond repairs.
Sudden Strike is underrated and unknown by many.
+Paul Gaither Best game ever
+Paul Gaither That was my favorite game ever. but it was a German game from mid level developers so it didn't get any publicity. But I loved the Online HQ competitive ranking system before games kept track o your rank automatically
+Paul Gaither YESSSSSS!!!!!!!! Definietly one of the best strategy games ever!
+Paul Gaither just like 'cossacks back to war'
I used to play Cossacks too. Do any of you remember a clan in sudden strike called NAA, Or -Blitz-?
Should have mention, Generals: Zero Hour and Battle Realms
Yeah zero hour
- Is it done, Yuri?
- No, comrade premier. It's only begun.
MrBlackHawk888
This game was my childhood😢😢😢😢
so was Red Alert 3
We will berry them
No "Stronghold crusade"?
Wow...Epic failure.
if you ask me Stronghold Crusader is too easy and no strategy is needed. But still it is realy fun
*****
Too easy when you put the chart on hard and making everyone against you? nah, But it really is fun.
Sasuke Uchiha i played all the missions and the only hard part is the earlygame. It is easy to build castles the AI can´t destroy and you can also abuse the economy to get lots of gold realy fast
*****
Yes, but can you hold yourself against both lion heart and everyone against you? i don't know, i cannot do that, first off, he's too fast because his army getting done in no time, second, if you made like 7 armies against you, your chances are 0. Oh and the last mission is like a hell.
Sasuke Uchiha i did them all. Think only 2 or 3 where realy challenging. But if you use moat and traps early on, you will be safe.
Age of Empires franchise made me fall in love with RTS Games. ❤️😍❤️
Lord of the rings battle for Middle earth 2 was perfection
Yes
RA2 is the best RTS game ever made IMO.
Yes it was.. xwis is still alive ☺
Finally some RA2 fans :D
SPi Hell! if EA never bought Westwood... Red alert 3 Would've been Better than the crap it's now! And maybe... Just maybe... we would've had Red Alert 4...
At least some people like me still likes red alert 2. :)
You know I did not even pay attention that it was no more westwood that developed RA3, but I finally found with this video why I bought RA3, played two missions and stopped there to go back to RA1 & 2.
RA 1, too good, the RTS of my kid days, too much nostalgia I cannot handle it.
and then RA 2, also so damn good. Yuri's revenge was cool too.
what about generals zero hour?!
עמית ביטון gen zero hour with rise of the reds mod is the best rts game
+akar siaman actually its an expansion..
r2darky an expansion.. forfucksake its better then EAs c&c generals 2 that was canceled they almost changed everything about the game.
just try it for urself if u like rts games...
+akar siaman quitewhining How can you know that Gens/ZH is bette4r then the gens 2 game? Did you go to closed alpha for it? I doubt you did. l've go the fist decade pak for CnC an d l'm awaiting AoA... -_-
+akar siaman also gens/zh multiplayer is dead..
Dawn of war and it’s expansions were amazing
Tzar: The Burden of the Crown
Age of Empires II
Starcraft II
Age of mythology, in of curse age of empires saga
Age was my fav untill Company of Heroes, only games i even play on pc
i agree, AoE 2... the best !
Shogun 2 should have been #1 with Warlords Battlecry 3 as 2nd.
Dune 2... the most hours I spent with.
Then Warcraft 2/3, Starcraft.
C&C: Red Alert 2, and of course C&C: Generals.
The 3D remake of Dune was awesome too.
Homeworld 1/2 had incredible story.
Sins of a Solar Empire is good but the limit of units killed it for me.
Supreme Commander was good but too heavy at the time.
Eduard Karesli You do know that Sins has hundreds of mods for it right? There are dozens that do nothing but alter the unit caps to the point where the game can't handle it. There is a star wars mod for Sins that lets you use all of your absurd number of resource points in the unit cap to make nothing but capital ships. I have had the game crash in late game on huge maps with the max number of players just because the game can't process all the ships/fighter at the same time.
TwistedIdiot02 No I didn't know that.
Will download them and try.
Thanks for the info.
-Rise of nation
-Empire Earth/Empires Dawn of The Modern World
-Planetary Annihilation/Supreme Commander
-Command Adn Conquer Generals/Red Alert
-Age of Empires/Age of Mythology
-Warcraft 3/Starcraft 2
-Homeworld
The Best Rts of All Time
I still play rise of nations such a good game
I really think the first StarCraft should be #1, It spawned eSports and revolutionized gaming as a whole. The scene wouldn't be what it is today without it.
Heeeey that's basically what i said, you said it 3 years earlier on purpose >:(
Came just to see if Starcraft was #1. Not disappointed.
same
Starcraft 1 more better that starcraft 2...
Company of Heroes was amazing and is one of my favs. Here is a doozy for you. Anyone remember Kohan? Still my fav RTS of all time. I have all three original CDs. Great series
greyfox37 Never heard of, dude.
+greyfox37 i like CH too, but Men of War is more realistic in my opinion.
+greyfox37 COH1 is the best 2. is RED Alert 2 .
+greyfox37 Kohan 2 Kings of War was pretty good a bunch of RTS games ripped off its mechanics after its release.
I have yet to try CoH but Men of War is a good game.
I'm replaying the warlords battlecry games right now. Love it
Warzone 2100 deserves a honorable mention for its insane number of unit type combinations. It's since become completely free and open source.
Agreed i was playing that not to long ago tho the pc i had it on kinda died on me so it was unfortunate.
Command and Conquer!!
TheGore1021
Tiberian Sun should have been mentioned at least.
tiberium wars
yeah man
"I'll build anywhere"
*tries to place strategy center*
"Can't build there, sir"
starcraft 2 in the first Place ?... oh well its my own opinion but seriously if u look at how starcraft 2 is played its 99% the same way and if u dont obey that rule there is no coming back u lose. When thinking Command and conquer generals zero hour was the best RTS of times. U could rush and u could defend but the best part not 1 singel match looked the same and u could make a comeback
Amen. Zero Hours will always be my most favorite RTS game from my childhood to adulthood.
i'm guessing you're gold league or lower? you don't seem to understand the game very well
I liked Generals. Had a good storyline and nice gameplay.
Generals Zero Hour mods like Shockwave take the cake for me adding in three new generals and alot of new maps. Hell Zero Hour is still getting mods for it to this day
Check Rise of the Reds, they're planning to get 15 Generals as they add 2 new factions with 3 generals each and created 3 new generals generals for the orignal 3 factions.
World in Conflict is one of my favourite RTSs. Not necessarily very deep, but alot of fun nonetheless.
"Emporer: Battle for Dune" belongs here.
No game from the "Stronghold" franchise. Eh.
Well can't argue with your statement SH2 one of my favorite games of all time
nah man stronghold crusader is the best
My best to worst list goes like this:
1. Stronghold Crusader
2. Stronghold 2
3. Stronghold
4. Stronghold Crusader II
5. Stronghold Legends
6. Stronghold Crusader Extreme
7. Stronghold 3
8. Stronghold Kingdoms
those are city builder, no RTS
Philipp Ludwig stronghold are RTS. city builder are such as SimCity, Anno, etc
Star Wars Empire at War and the whole Stronghold franchise must be included if you ask me, they are great!
Sins of a solar empire should have had way more than an honorable mention. FANTASTIC GAME.
I got into Command and Conquer towards the tail end of the series, through my dad’s copies of Generals, Red Alert 3, and Tiberius Wars. I need to try Red Alert 2 one of these days.
Tiberian Sun, for me, is the greatest C&C type game ever made.
The best comment on here. Tiberian Sun/Firestorm should have been top 3.
C&C Generals: Zero Hour is the best C&C game made. This is from someone who played all of the earliest 12 C&C games, aswell as C&C 3:Tiberium Wars (which is second fan favorite after Generals).
TimpsterTheDude Generals may have borne the C&C title, but it was not a C&C game.
Craig Biddulph Tell yourself that, it is still, & will always be, the overall fan favorite C&C game. Not saying the originals are bad, because they're not, but generals sweeps the floor.
TimpsterTheDude As good a RTS game as it is, it bears no resemblance to C&C and has no elements of the storyline of the other games. It's set in an entirely different universe.
wow. Age of mythology go just an honorable mention? That game deserves way more that that
Outpost 2. I know it's an old and obscure game but it was really good.
I am very surprised that no one talks about Command & Conquer: zero hour or Cossacks European Wars. Those two games are by far the best without contest in my opinion. ( and I’ve played a lot of strategy games )
Exactly they should have mentioned Generals the modern strategy game ever
Those were pretty cool.
They could of also mentioned kknd to
Populous: The Beginning is an often overlooked game that should have gotten at least an honorable mention, I think more people should know about it.
I agree with u man...
POPOLOUS THE BEGINING was the best..
Can't agree more here guys! I love(d) so much this game. I've been looking for an alternative ever since ! Trying the Black & white series, Spore, Godus etc. til The Universim which is supposed to be release this year. So far, Populous hasn't been beaten yet
I prefer the Command & Conquer Tiberium series over the Red Alert series. CNC3 was a masterpiece of an RTS. Fast-paced gameplay, three fun single player campaigns to get used to the units and buildings of the three factions (The Global Defense Initiative, The Brotherhood of Nod, and The Scrin), and tons of fun maps, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars still has an active competitive scene, with players using absolutely insane tactics when looked on by a casual player like myself.
C'mon, Star Wars: Empire at War wasn't even an honorable mention? Not only is it the definitive Star Wars RTS, with the ability to control the full might of both the Empire and the Rebellion, up to and including the Death Star, the gameplay is very polished, and each faction has its different strengths and weaknesses. To this day, I still enjoy booting up the game and doing some Space Skirmishes.
Speaking of Star Wars, Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds is a ton of fun. Sure, it's essentially a Star Wars-skinned Age of Empires, but it's still a great game.
+jedimasterpickle3 FunFact: Command and Conquer 1995 AKA: Tiberian Dawn Has just turned 20 years old
Jacob Gale CNC 4 just looks dumb. I've got no idea why they took out actual base building.
Jacob Gale Command and Conquer 3 is published by EA and it's a solid RTS. Based off what I've read of previous entries in the Tiberium series, CNC3 takes a lot of good aspects from previous games, gives them nice new graphics, updates their utility, and then throws the Scrin into the mix.
CNC3 Tib wars and Kanes Wrath are the best CNC games ever made
+SiiKLiiD II True!
Watching this just hit so many levels of nostalgia and my childhood. Time to fire up the old windows 98 machine and get out the game CDs :)
(well, thankfully most are available on steam hehe).
Actor Udo Kier can make any Command & Conqueror game more enjoyable. I found the Yuri units to be a wild card to use as they can take over almost anything.
I remember playing as USA using the teleporting soldiers, while my soldiers were recovering after teleport, the Yuri units picked them up like cherries and made all my stuff vanished in matter of seconds using my soldiers 😂👌🏻
Age of Empires II! So much nostalgia, one of the greatest video games of all time.
Very glad that Homeworld and especially Red Alert 2 made it one the list. RA2 was probably my first actual video game (not too sure about it, but I think so) and I loved it so freakin' much. In this sense: KIROV REPORTING
best lines are from soviets...specially kirovs, desolators and apocalypse tanks
there will always be a spot in my heart for good ol warzone2100
I agree
The interesting part of WC3 are its character & unit quotes, which refers to various TV show/movies/dramas, which add up the flavor of the games
Death knight: "I am the one horseman of the Apocalypse!" (X-Men reference)
Demonhunter: "Pa-weep graw-naw weep ninni-bung! It's a universal greeting!" (Transformers reference)
Demonhunter: "Darkness called… But I was on the phone, so I missed him. I tried to *69-Darkness, but his machine picked up. I yelled "Pick up the phone, Darkness!," but he ignored me. Darkness must have been screening his calls."
Dreadlord: "Darkness, hey what's up? The Demon hunter left you a message? No, I don't have his number."
Arthas: "Who is this 'darkness' anyway?"
Tichondrius: "Darkness… needs to get DSL. His line is always busy."
Did I see Red Alert in the thumbnail? Video worth watching.
My list:
- Age of Empires II: The Conquerors
- Age of Mythology (+The Titans)
- Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (+Kane's Wrath)
- Command & Conquer Generals (+Zero Hour)
- Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 (+Yuri's Revenge)
- Dungeon Keeper
- Dungeon Keeper 2
- Ground Control (+Dark Conspiracy)
- Ground Control II: Operation Exodus
- StarCraft II (trilogy)
- Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance
- Total Annihilation
- War for the Overworld
- WarCraft III: Reign of Chaos (+The Frozen Throne)
To leave DK out is at least strange.
You played stacraft and you didn't like it?
@@Maximilian-Robespierre but I listed StarCraft II if you didn't notice :) But personally I didn't like the first game as much. The same applies for WarCraft II. Generally those early RTS'es suffered from poorer storytelling, navigation, unit control, etc. That's why I have a preference for those newer games. Maybe an exception goes to C&C4 and SupCom2 as those games had a very serious regres in quality regarding gameplay.
Emperor: Battle for Dune was one of my favorites
The hours and days spent playing C&C. There was a time when you could link two PS1s together in the same house or room and one of the few games that used it was red alert 2 (I think). That was pretty nifty. Me and my buddies would have battles to all hours of the morning, taking shots of patron and smoking copious amounts of weed in the process. Those were good days. Now I have all sorts of responsibilities n shit. Smh. I should have just stayed at home. lol
Person A: "Age of Empires"
Person B: "WarCraft"
Person A: "Wololo!"
Person B: "Age of Empires"
Wololoooooooooooooooooooooooo!
i loved both titles but i had more fun with WC3's online custom battles but at some point from 2009 to 2011 the game just died all servers are just bot hosts and now only latins play
Roggan?
Person C: "Command & Conquer"
Person D: "Yes"
Person A and B: "Age of Empires"
Person C and D: **Mind control**
Everyone: "Command & Conquer"
World in Conflict was a damn good game. It at least deserved an honorable mention.
Okay i wasnt going to watch the whole video but since you put RA2 theme background you sir have my like 💜
Your number 4 is the best - Warcraft 3. Over a decade old and so many great memories. I still play insane computers to this day - 9 is my all time best. Can't wait for reforged version.
Starcraft 2 is good but it doesnt deserve to be no1
But it kind of does though...
It really does.
SpookyWatcher Have you ever tried another RTS game? I think it's safe to guess you may of tried halo wars once or some joke? xD Get some taste please, Starcraft is the american cheese of RTS games.
EE, Crusader, W3. And no. I don't play Starcraft, just because the looks and the gameplay S2 is a good completion and recogniser for the RTS. Basically everyone knows S2 better as RTS than halo wars...I think
TheGreatDecius Ok well im sorry but then why are their Korean teams on it and there is millions of dollars (at least) from it.
Age of Mythology and Red Alert 2
I prefered tiberian sun
5 RTS games I love the most
5. C&C Red Alert 2
4. C&C Generals
3. Starcraft
2. C&C Red Alert
1. Starcraft 2
Same!
Command and Conquer - Generals: Zero Hour
It's an expansion for generals which is still an awesome game
@@rambot_14o43 yep I was just stating which was my favorite I played all the time back in the day
This was a great game. Loved the Nuke Migs.
The game is soooo good that it become a mod for Red Alert 3 (C&C Red Alert 3: Generals Evolution).
Starcraft 2 is too much micro clicking for my taste.
That's especially true for the Zergs... Talk about most difficult race to play!
It's for the skilled.. other games like Total War are great and don't require too much skill though
Superfluous, that is just as disingenuous as saying that a game relying on mass click spamming is not as skilled as one which relies on good placement and differing units cross supporting each other. Each one requires different skills.
I do not care to foster the mass click actions per minute skill.
Thomas Gideon Starcraft requires speed and good unit placement and varied units supporting each other.

Yeah. no. Starcraft is just a far more competitive game than most other RTS's. Pretty disingenuous if you ask me to assert that Starcraft is just 'click spamming' and real strategy needs to be found somewhere else. Starcraft lives and breathes the competitive scene, and has for about 16 years. It doesn't apologize for what it is. Don't get me wrong, I've rage-quit starcraft about a dozen times over my lifetime, but I always come back because I appreciate the nature of the game. Starcraft pros never cease to amaze me. The so called 'click spamming' you criticize is actually precise, and complex decisions being made all over the map. This same sort of competitiveness would be found in pretty well any RTS if it is pushed to the edge of players' capabilities as it is in Starcraft. I'd recommend that you not be so flippant with your comments on a game that has quite literally made E-sports what it is today.
Missed a few nuggets there:
> Star Wars: Empire at War
> Dungeon Keeper 2
> Majesty (Gold HD)
And the original Age of Empires
I still play Majesty :D
Joshua Littau I know right - such a great game! I was thinking of making a video of it to add to my channel but some of the levels can take up to an hour to pass. If you've got any suggestions let me know :)
All the levels with cheats :D
My favorite RTS will always be RUSE, it had some issues with historical units being too strong or weak, but it still brought me hours of entertainment
Great list.
Where is generals
Generals was made by the same people who made Red alert 2 (became eventually) and they could only have one game per company.
No. Just one game per franchise. Generals was C&C.
Red Alert is actually a part of the Command and Conquer series. :)
they put 3 relic games...
c/c generals is on the list, its on 20th place
star wars empire at war
No. Just no
Star Wars: Empire at War is amazing, I don't know what the fuck you are talking about
and the imperial civil war mod is the best
That game was so much fun it would be cool to see a remake
imperial civil war mod
you are welcome :)
wonderful. thanks
Age of mythology made my childhood 😍😍
I loved Halo Wars, it's a shame that it never was released for PC.
Only Halo 1 and 2 were released on pc, I think
most underrated game ever
It was fun especially for it being one of the few strategy games on the 360, and what got me into PC gaming. But the E3 trailers for it were far better than what we we're presented with, there would have been alot more freedom to the player.
I never believe the E3 trailers knowing that all they do is try to hype you up into buying the game. I look at game play trailers a few months before the game comes out to see if I still want to buy it.
Even the demo looked better than the actual game itself
I actually started playing Supreme Commander and I have to say that such a large map and so many units to take control of is pretty challenging for me. But I'm enjoying it.
Total Annihilation will be without a doubt one of my favourite games of all time.
2:31 "featuring expansive maps where your wepons aren't just your soldier on the field, but also diplomacy, off the field."
