Funny i can relate to this i was always great at selling when i didn't feel like i was being a pain in the butt soon as im in an environment where im expected to harass customers into submission i always hated doing it overwhelmingly and couldn't understand why it bothered me.

this is just my opinion (note i'm often wrong seldom in doubt) but it's like people with ADHD don't like pressure being put on them thus it is hard to put pressure on others. when they do they are crawling out of their skin.
      thanks for posting.

So well said and I'm so grateful someone understands how I feel! I've done both "hard sales" and "sales by educating." The later one was so enjoyable and I've had tremendous success, whereas the first one I couldn't even last over a month! Thank you Jeff.

What about sales strategies for selling TO people with ADHD? I recently sent a salesman away that I had scheduled a free quote with because he said it would take a minimum of 1 1/2 hours to sit down and go over the product, company, etc and I was already set on buying and didn't need the sales pitch.

Interesting. Writing out loud (i.e. thinking) I'm thinking it might be about educating you to make sure there are no got ya's down the road. I have people call me all the time wanting to sign up for coaching. Their mind set is i'm going to coach their behavior to conform to a structure. I don't do that. I engage in a conversation to explain what i do so they don't buy and find out I'm not what they expected or I adjust their expectations.
If that isn't the case... just flat out tell the guy to save his spit and send him a check.
Interested in how this turns out.
